Loren posted her watching the episode on Instagram and it's obvious that was her last episode. She kept saying "the end of the road" and various goodbyes. This is shameful. They brought all these pointless characters back and she gets fired because she's black and they don't want to invest in a dark skinned black actress. But Lola is around with her boring ass. And Chelsea. I have no desire to catch up now.

And the characters they do feature have been driving the show to record low ratings for a month now!

It's a shame that they never took advantage of Loren's full potential, but not totally unsurprising given the state of the show's black cast. This is the same show that took Miashel Morgan for granted last year, despite being the show's ONLY popular younger and black actor in the last 10-15 years, and are now begging for her to come back.

Shameful.

I'll refrain from making a comment about where I wish she'd turn up in a perfect world on a show that no longer airs because I always find those immediate 'wishful casting' posts super tacky. I'll just say that if they've really dropped her it is a huge waste.

That's what it seemed like and she made references to Bryton and Brytni being there for her. It looks like those suspicions that people on Twitter had about her being out, due to stuff she said about a month ago, may indeed be correct.

If so, I will miss her. I have really enjoyed her and Ana since she came on. This show failed this character and blatantly refused to give her a decent storyline. Except for way early on when she was interacting with Fen, and developing a friendship with him. But once he was gone it all went downhill.

They refused to pair her with Fen, even though they had good chemistry, and both actors wanted to be paired together.  Zach Tinker expressed multiple times he wanted to be paired with her and they were building a fanbase. After Fen left they refused to pair her with anyone else, and her secret ended up being a bit of let down. They gave her a father but didn't show us anything about her journey to find him. They also barely wrote for him and got him up off the show quickly. I believe he was mostly brought on to wrap up her secret and to introduce Elena as a love interest for Devon.

Josh then hardly had her interact with her 20 something peers and didn't really integrate her with them. Except for when he put her in an awkward storyline with Tessa/Mariah where she came off as a third wheel.  Josh had her clash with Devon multiple times and had him berate her, while he gave Mariah a position she didn't earn/deserve and didn't criticize her at all.

And then finally they dangled a storyline in front of her about Theo mentoring her, and snatched that away because they wanted to use Theo more as angst for Kyle/Lola and have him go work for Phyllis. So her last lifeline and storyline was taken from her, before it ever really started.

The way they treated her was definitely shameful and IMO, very blatant. She and her character deserved much better than what they gave her.

Wait, Loren Lott/Ana is gone? And Lola boring ass is still here. And Chloe is coming back?

Yeah, no screw that.

Stafford return has been a bust. Adam's return has taken up too much space. No idea what the hell they're doing.

Loren Lott is pretty much confirming her exit even more by retweeting comments from fans who are talking about Ana exiting the show. As well as the treatment of Loren and her character. What a waste of a talented and beautiful actress. I would like to see her back on the show, but if that doesn't happen, I hope that she does well moving forward and has a lot more success in her career.

If that were the case, they would have gotten rid of someone like Theo first (especially since it looks like they may be making him a bad guy.) They just didn't want to write for Ana, even though the character had a lot of potential and there is a lot of stuff they could have done for her. What they did to her IMO was blatant and very disrespectful. She wasn't given any type of love interest or even a kiss in nine months.  They wasted her even though she had chemistry with Zach Tinker's Fen. And if they didn't like him they could have put her with someone else.

They had her  hang underneath Devon, which didn't do much for her character and didn't provide much of a storyline for her. (Except have him and her clash over ridiculous stuff and have him berate her.) And then they made her an awkward third wheel for Tessa/Mariah, which also didn't really work. They were giving her crumbs when they could have done much more with the character.

Oh no. I’m talking about the black characters. It’s just a pattern when one regime creates new black characters, they are rarely kept (or if they are kept, they aren’t featured) by the next regime. Yes, it happens to characters of all races when new writers take over, as HWs tend to want to create their own newbies and attach them to a selection of veterans. But still.

In her farewell video on YouTube, she said the show told her they were firing her so they could use the budget for other characters and because they couldn't think of a story. Huh? You can't think of a story for a twentysomething glamazon who has chemistry with everyone? But u can for literally every other person in her age range? Just admit you're racist and go lol.

    • Can’t believe we’re not getting Sami at all for John’s passing. That’s wild to me. We couldn’t even get a Sami video call? I know Sami was needed for the rape story, but I’d prefer her here for John’s death over the rape stuff. She still never even explained why or how she fell in love with her rapist when she was in Salem. So Bo doesn’t know his daughter married a serial killer.    You could really feel Paul’s grief today. Bo finding out about Victor and that wave of grief hitting him was so real. And then to find out about Doug right after. PR was great. This is already a better Bo/Hope story than whatever the hell RC wrote. I say it every day it seems but Deidre again is pitch perfect. Hope being so excited to hear about John only to hear he didn’t make it

Bo is going to be destroyed.
    • Thanks for the updates, @glfaninnyc and @VelekaCarruthers.   First Skyy Sandifer, and now Christian Streaty, looks like DAYS was testing out some black writers who are new to daytime.
    • It seems like the obvious downside for future writers was that if a real news event occurred in Bay City, Michigan, then the audience would wonder how it would affect Rachel and Iris. Whereas, a soap set in a larger city like Los Angeles or Houston can avoid everything but weather events by saying that our characters were on the other side of town (like B&B did during the LA Uprising of 1992 - although not literally). IRL, I recall a huge snowstorm that hit Manhattan in the 1990s, and the papers with filled with stories about actors and crew having to spend the night in various television studios because the trains shut down early.  Which led me to question if we know of any natural events like storms or tornados that effected production? Remember when Port Charles, NY had to have an earthquake because of sets destroyed by a real earthquake in LA?
    • @janea4old I'm sure eventually Canada/USA will air the same episode, but I'm really surprised it has gone on this long.
    • To her credit, I don't think Lucci ever demanded that she be front and center the way other lead actresses did. If she did, she wasn't listened to. She also had other side projects and that probably helped out a lot. When Erica was maternal Erica, she added to the show. As time wore on and they were still writing her as if she still in her twenties, it didn't work and it harmed the show. I know Lucci wanted to do the showgirl storyline which was a mess. I've also read (don't know how reliable it is) that a lot of her bad decisions came from her husband's advice. That included her ridiculous choices for Emmy submissions and the terrible t.v. movies. There have been a lot of talented daytime actresses who didn't get their due, and it is rather annoying that Lucci was nominated so often in years when she didn't deserve it and when her material was truly awful.
    • While we never believed that and never wanted that for Nikki.
    • It was! Fajitas with flour tortillas, beans, and potato salad. Butter pecan ice cream for dessert.
    • I see Nikki has got the Katherine treatment and is now referred to as a legendary business woman.
    • In the early years, both Bay City and Somerset were said to be located in Michigan, about an hour's drive from each other. In a long-ago news report about the backstage goings-on of the show, the host opened the segment by giving historical facts about AW, including Bay City, Michigan, as its locale. The clip is, or at least was at one point, available on Youtube. I watched it twice. Somerset, the spin-off sister soap, was also acknowledged to be in that same state. When Heather Lawrence was told by her mother, Eve, that they were moving there permanently, Heather complained about not wanting to go to that, "dreary little town in Michigan." On a talk show once (it might have been Merv Griffin; I forget), Audra Lindley spoke about her career pre-Three's Company. She said, "I was on a soap opera for years called Another World. It was set in Bay City, Michigan...." And then she elaborated on her antagonistic character of Liz Matthews. Finally, even Google has its say: "Yes, Somerset, a township in Huron County, Michigan, is relatively close to Bay City. It's located to the north-east of Bay City, and the drive is generally less than an hour. The two towns are linked by the Saginaw River and Lake Huron, according to a local information source." The two towns, whose names at least exist in real life, were always said on-air to be close to each other and separated by water. The opening logo of Somerset even had a visual depiction of this. Why TPTB at P&G later changed AW from Michigan to Illinois, who knows? Maybe they just made the arbitrary/pointless decision to set AW, TGL and ATWT in the same state. Maybe those in charge were just ignorant of the facts and didn't care about consistency and continuity. Remember this is a company which mandated dropping the article THE from The Guiding Light and The Edge of Night in order to "modernize" the shows and "attract a younger audience." (If anyone can explain the irrational logic of that loopy decision, let me know, LOL.) So, yes, Bay City was originally set in Michigan. There is a real Bay City in that state, just like there's a Genoa City, Wisconsin on Y&R and a real Genoa City in the real Wisconsin. Retcons and historical inaccuracies are not uncommon on soaps, alas. Out of curiosity, were you watching in the late 1960s and early 1970s? Michigan was mentioned, on-air, more than once, back then. I kept extensive scrapbooks of all my favorites soaps at the time (yes, I had no life, LOL), and I made notes of trivia like this, characters' addresses and telephone numbers, birthdates of babies, etc.
    • It just reinforces everything that's wrong with this couple and this show, doesn't it? It's not romantic, it's not sexy, it's not anything. Instead, I end up thinking about the set -- how long it took to put up even more greenery to remind us we're in the park, that the weather in WI must be really mild to produce those full-bloom roses, and how adorable that they've added tables so people can carry Panera there to eat.
