I'm pretty sure the "Sam" character played by Rafael de la Fuente is actually the new, male Sammy Jo(e). At least that's what The Futon Critic has, and it makes sense from the character description in the article SFK originally posted: "a cute schemer who has a one-night stand with Steven." Also, based on ethnicity, I'm assuming he'll also be related to Krystle.

Not sure how I feel about it quite yet, but I think it's a positive sign for those who were worried that they would downplay Steven's sexuality.

That's interesting, didn't think of that ("titi Cristal").

The thing that I do think of whenever this reimagining crosses my mind is how faithful the show will be to the original when it comes to the Adams, the Amandas, the Dominiques... characters who had mysterious/surprise intros.  You can't really do that twice.  I mean, you can, but... I wonder if those characters will even make it to the new series, and if so, will the original back stories be glossed over.

The casting of Grant Show (ex-Rick, RH; ex-Jake, MP) in the Blake Carrington role in the upcoming Dynasty reboot was an error. The reason is Grant Show is too young. Actors like Michael Douglas, Sean Connery, Roger Moore, George Lazenby, Richard Gere, Gregory Harrison, Bruce Boxleitner, Anthony Hopkins, Tommy Lee Jones, and other matured actors would have been suitable choices for the esteemed Carrington family patriarch.

IDA that he's too young. We all know none of these actors (more or less) would ever do DYNASTY. Second, Show is 55 and Forsythe was 62/63 when DYNASTY started, so the difference isn't massive. Third, he's married to someone who looks 18. The age difference is, therefore, big enough. Fourth, he's recognizable, and fits well into CW. He doesn't have to look ancient or to mimic Forsythe in that regard. What 60 looked like in 1981 is no longer what it looks like now. I really don't think it's an issue at all.

    •     data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw== Janice Frame is Evan's mother. Janice & Mac were together. Janice was up to no good. Mitch was helping her. She was slowly, little by little, every day, POISONING Mac. She was almost successful. In St. Croix, Rachel & Janice began what was literally a physical fight. They fell into the resort swimming pool, continuing to fight each other. Somehow, I guess Janice had it on her, there was a knife in play but Rachel kept Janice from stabbing her & got it away from her & they continued to struggle until Rachel stabbed Janice, which was a death blow. Mitch did a 180 & helped Rachel get Mac to the hospital. He was so weakened by the poison he could not even stand unassisted. It took both of them together to walk him to the hospital but it did save his life.  The St. Croix remote was SO beautiful, but so dangerous & scary. Also action-packed.     data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAPABAP///wAAACH5BAEKAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw== Hooray! Maxim's back

    • I do not think I have ever agreed with Vee. Normally I do not read him, Ignore ya know. For some unknown reason I clicked to read. And I agree 1000%. Now, this is so odd that I need to go away for a bit.
    • Justine had a lot of hooey in it, but she was an actual woman, not a guy in drag. She was a doppelganger of Rachel, French, having had a past history with Carl, etc. Two of the more outrageous parts-Justine bricking alive Vicky into a wall & Justine grinding the gears driving a big rig.
    • Hehe, twi/x actually x, formerly Twitter. Typically I find 2 sources for "crazy fan rumors" - the wrong parts of FB and x. Oy.
    • Not to hijack the thread, but was that character Justine? I just found this interview online with Logan and see what you're talking about - wow!   http://www.anotherworldhomepage.com/chat85.html
    • My bad….ill fix that  Fixed
    • Where do you discover this crazy rumor??
    • Jill Farren Phelps was always very skilled at saying what she meant onscreen in the bluntest way possible, like whenever she wanted fans to support one character vs. the other (hence Megan McTavish groaning about having to write Kale Browne's Sam Rappaport into three days a week at OLTL). Perhaps you should consider doing the same. Historically your intent is always far more obvious than your efforts at coy embroidery anyway. You believe people are dismissing Phelps' accomplishments, and suggest misogyny and fan blinders allow people to too easily pigeonhole and dismiss her skill set. I think we all understand her varied skill set. We're saying it's not enough to make up for her deficiencies as a storyteller and creative. JFP was undoubtedly a skilled technical producer. As a solo storyteller, and de facto HW, she was a repeat and predictable failure. She was not the first or last EP (male or female) to think she was a writer. If you want us to stop taking your behavior personally when you suggest misogyny is at play in board opinions of JFP, perhaps you should consider spending the next 10+ years here not acting like you're the only one who gets it.
