The trailer has the acting and production values of porn - they should have just made it official and had "Krystle" and "Fallon" start making out.

It's all so dull. And the woman who plays Fallon doesn't have a tenth of what made Pamela Sue Martin stand out. The guy who plays Steven doesn't have the earthiness or sincerity that the character needs - he looks more like Adam Carrington.

Dynasty became a hit because of Joan Collins and because of the culture of the '80s. It may feel like pop culture never wants to leave the '80s (in America anyway), but we aren't actually there anymore. It shows.

Everyone is cold, dark, and unlikable. What helped make the original Dynasty so compelling is that spark of humanity you could see in every core character... For all their transgressions, you could understand what brought them there, and root for them to find their piece of happiness. And that cast, for the most part, gave portrayals that made the ride FUN... Whether we're comparing this Fallon to Martin or Emma Samms (who I really enjoyed & think The Colbys writers just served her some bad fish), in these clips she totally lacks a soul. So does everyone else.

And whoa is Krystle... Ooops, "CRISTAL" - Oh! Get it? The spelling of her name is flashing a neon sign at you that she's Latina... You know, because on shows like Riverdale, we dumb viewers can't figure out Veronica is of Latin descent because they didn't spell her name in some distinctively Spanish way (sorry, that annoys me) - Anyway, we're supposed to be shocked that she appears to be a gold-digger. I'm actually just disappointed in her obnoxiously vapid, layer-free performance.

I don't love to hate anyone here in this clip. I just hate them. So I'm definitely not interested to see where it goes.

This is exactly what I expected. Sadly. If you considered the people behind it, and the network it was developed for, how could it ever be anything else?

But the one thing that surprised me is this interpretation of Cristal, which is all sorts of wrong. No, Cristal should NEVER be a golddigger, even just a possible one. The whole POINT is that she was a kind, smart, tough, honest woman who genuinely loved Blake and couldn't care less about money. Here, she's a vapid 20-something, who CATFIGHTS WITH HER FUTURE STEPDAUGHTER ON THE VERY FIRST EPISODE. Ugh. I HATE that her introduction to Steven and Fallon is while being pinned down by Blake, fυcked on top of a desk, just so there can be a lame double entendre joke. But nobody knows how to write a character like Krystle anymore. DYNASTY itself didn't, after the first two seasons. I will say this, however: The actress seemed decent enough, as decent as you can come off on a trailer.

As expected, the guy playing Steven comes off much better on screen than some of his pics, and the stuff with Sammy Jo, cliche and obvious, was kinda hot.

It'll be trash. I'll be watching.

That trailer and pilot scene were terrible. As others have said, all the production values of porn with the same acting talent.

Rafael de La Fuente is the only actor on this show with any charisma.

Writing Krystle as a gold digger is so wrong...terrible actress. So unlikeable. I do enjoy Fallon biting the head off the cake topper (I've never seen that done, surprised daytime hasn't done that one)...but overall none of these characters can be rooted for.

Dame Joan should only touch this thing if they offer her a fortune. But I suspect they won't be contacting her. The CW's president made a statement about "if schedules and story work out" then they'd look at having some original actors on. About as non-committal as it gets. If she does appear I hope she insists on a fortune. Dame Joan should stick to The Royals - now that is a character worthy of her.

Guys, this is just a trailer and stop acting like it's a misguided shot-by-shot remake.  It's a reimagining.  Also, lets be honest, Linda Evan's Krystal was written like she was misunderstood as a gold digger but she wasn't played like that by the actress.  I think they are going for that again but this time forcing embossing the misunderstood persona.

They're (we're) not acting like - or expecting that - it's supposed to be a shot-by-shot remake. What I think we're all saying, is that it looks terrible - devoid of things like intelligence, charm, witty humor,  multi-faceted characterizations, or memorable performances. It's a re-imagining that comes off as emotionally-vacant, unless self-serving and horny are considered emotions. Those alone are the driving forces of every character in every scene of this promo.

Sure there are people who might enjoy this. But those who hear "Dynasty" and think of something culturally iconic might be bummed that THIS is what will be served. And yes, it is "just" a trailer... But a trailer is supposed to tease the audience with samples of the BEST of what's to come. If this reflection is wrong, it's a horrible trailer. But if it's right, it's going to be a horrible show.
