I've run out of superlatives to describe the fall-out from this video. Sometimes the fallout is a disappointment after the reveal but Monday's was almost as good as Friday's episode. Eileen Davidson and Greg Vaughan were in a class of their own. ED is exceptional, from the most convincing set of lies I have ever seen to the cracks showing near the end.

GV was probably the most moving, throwing his robes at Marlena's feet, watching the video in silence, giving the side-eye to the statue of the Madonna and Child after Marlena left. This was also the first time Eric fought back when Brady attacked him again -- this was the point Eric could no longer turn the other cheek.

JA was amazing as Victor behind he is so cold and ruthless about selling Marlena and Eric down the river that I had to kind of agree with Maggie. Sure, KiiiRiiAKiiis first, but it is a shame that the Victor-Marlena alliance is at such a bitter end. They could have found a mutually beneficial way to break up Brady and Kristen.

T was cute jumping over the counter but I don't know the character well enough to say whether he and Abby should become the next Young Coupling. And, while I like Blake Berris, man is Nick skeeving me out.

OK Kyle Richards  but her hair did look good.

She did look great. And when Jen first popped up onscreen last week it didn't immediately dawn on me that she was headed to a wedding which would explain why I thought she looked amazing. It's crazy what zhoosing up someone's hair a bit can do. I almost swore that they put a filter on her because even the lines in her face were gone. Heavier makeup I guess.

Today was even better than yesterday for me, the Marlena vs Kristen scenes were outstanding as expected and the ending when Kristen (in her cape lol) sees Eric in the park! Can't wait for tomorrow - they are really playing all the beats with this. David Cherrill knocks his second consecutive episode out the park.

Imagine if Tomsell wrote DAYS every month like sweeps? February, May and now November have been standout brilliant. That's not to say that the other months haven't been good, but they feel like filler in comparison. I guess the differentiating factor has been plot movement, which can be somewhat non-existent in non sweeps months.

Love Love! Gonna miss this batshit crazy lady so much.

Loved the ED/DH scenes today. The gun scene was particularly shocking. I'm so glad Kristen told Marlena that she was willing to sacrifice her loved ones' happiness in order to destroy her. The reality is that while Kristen has done bad things (as usual), Marlena really needs to be taken to task by everyone else as to why she is so obsessed with Kristen that she would stoop to be Victor's errand girl (hello, download the stuff from the phone - Victor -"Now be a good girl, Marlena, forget your clients and go find Kristen's phone." Marlena really had no real fight in this "Brady" thing - just her hatred. Victor, at least, wanted to "protect" his grandson.

The Emmy's have been warming up to Days for awhile now. Darin Brooks, Tamara Braun, Chandler Massey have all won for their performances on the soap and James Scott has received multiple nominations in one of the hardest fields (Lead Actor) so I think the voting panel has been a lot more accepting in recent years for Days than it has in decades past.

    • I think of Evan as a smarmy bast*rd. Maybe you'll like that description. You certainly have him pegged correctly since he is just a soldier following "Admiral" Iris's marching orders.
    • So far the only interest I've seen from Evan to Amanda has been listening to Iris's orders to go and seduce her.  So far he hasn't been successful... but who knows. Amanda is unbearable at times. Entitled, spoiled... idiotic. Iris... so blatantly manipulating her and Amanda takes the bait. But I guess... when she gets in trouble... she'll have a chance to learn. That's what makes these shows so interesting.    Oh, no, don't worry. You haven't ruined a thing. Evan has not been on my radar that much... he was not one of the characters I was caring particularly... so nothing much has been changed for me. I don't think he has the stuff to ruin Rachel's life. He's just a pretty guy that can follow orders. Iris on the other hand... is dangerous.

P.S Maybe Evan will surprise me. Who knows.
    • The show has gone back to 10/10 entertainment! I'm glad that I was right in feeling that what were experiencing were growing pains. I'm sure they are not over yet, but I'll know that we always comeback to quality drama. I think it's going to be a hell of ride (in a good way) from this moment on. BTG has that magic that not a lot of shows have. I'll update more... when I'm done catching up.
    • So very glad to hear this. Yesterday I suddenly thought; OMG, what about spoilers, have I just  ruined things for Maxim in getting carried away with interest in Evan, who was so well-written & well-acted. BTW, your fan review of this episode was a sight for eyes that had not seen one of these for a little bit too long, LOL!!!  Mitch is also fascinating to me but in his case it's because he was all in with Janice & her nefarious plan & then he did this turnabout we've mentioned & he basically got off scot-free.
    • It does seem cheap and lazy for this show to have just one family. Passions was heavily criticized but it was nicely structured with a total of four families.
    • I think it was definitely a surprising reveal in the storyline. I had a hard time appreciating Evan because I couldn't get behind his interest in Amanda. But that's because I never thought Sandra Ferguson made her a compelling character (although to give her credit she occasionally had decent emotional scenes with Mac or Rachel).
    • I'll even go further... I'll make her re-think BeLief and create a new patent. Brooke needs stuff to do. Anything other than beg or be in her panties. We need her to be creative. But sadly Bradley has a very low opinion of these characters. To him Brooke is nothing more than sex and scandal... or a pathetic doormat. Ridge is nothing more than a chauvinist pig that needs to pit women against each other to feel like A MAN and Steffy is nothing more than her father's guard-dog. I don't even want to open my mouth about Hope. She is such a fiasco in my opinion... I will not suffer if they kill her off. Bradley pooped on her character and now it's too late to fix it. Annika is great and I would hate to see her go, but slutty Hope was not her thing. The vibe was missing.
    • I've seen Jason interact with Mitch and annoy him. That's as far as I recall. I didn't even have a slight idea that Evan had a vendetta against Rachel... That came as a surprise to me. I thought Evan was Iris's dog and that's it. Now he's definitely more interesting.
    • Thanks for these. I can't recall -- did Evan's vendetta have any position on Mitch, or was it all about Rachel? @Maxim have you seen any Frames intreracting with Mitch in any way?
    • Thank you for the tag! It's always a pleasure to see these little pearls of memories.
