Y&R September Discussion

Of course you know Victor would be pissed at Nikki, which is completley stupid. If she had this child way before she knew him and gave it away, then what the crap does it have anything to do with him. The writers are just going to use this to give Victor an excuse to show his @$$.

As someone who was watching back then, I am hating this rewrite of history story.

I don't watch, but this is very much in character for Victor. Nikki's world didn't begin until she got with him, and anything important outside of Victor is going to be a problem for him. I've seen this countless times on soaps, and I don't think its a stretch.

If Y&R insists on having Victor get indignant about Nikki's secret child, at least tie some deeper psychological reason behind it, like Victor's history of abandonment by his biological parents. Then at least, you get some mileage out of this, er, story.

You might even get the added twist of Victor feeling an odd kinship with Nikki's son, so if it does turn out to be Dylan, it might cause an odd layer of tension with Nick, apart from the foolishness that it will undoubtedly cause with Dylan, Avery and Nick- quite frankly though, I never cared two licks about Nick and Avery's courtship.

LOL. Kevin has been around just a little over 10 years now with a string of silly storylines and non-believable relationships. Alex did seem to have options at first, but it also seemed like those options were all dismissed. He dated Abby for a very short time, he flirted with both Chloe and Chelsea, and a new female detective was hired a few months ago to work with him at GCPD. She has since vanished!

The bolded...I have never and, at this point, probably will never believe him as a romantic interest for a woman...Michael either for that matter. However, I did believe them both as creepy stalkers of women. I think I see them both as the guy who hates (jealous of ) women because he wants to be her, not because he wants her. Still can't believe that Lauren is still with Michael.

Odd layer of tension with Nick? Don't you mean Adam. Adam has taken over that story and is the only Newman child who is out to gain Victor's approval (also the only one who is allowed ato work at Newman as well). Apparently, Nick and Victoria have always had it and doesn't have to deal with that type of drama. That is Adam's chip to carry.

Being that the writers insist on playing Newman versus Newman out on the show, I think that it would make sense if Adam and Nikki's son did bond being that they were both "adopted" in way. This way, Adam finally has someone in the family that he is close to (both odd children out). I can see Nick feeling insecure with respect to Nikki moreso than I can with Victor at this point.

I think if my spouse had a child they never told me about, I'd be a little upset about that. It's a pretty big secret to keep from your spouse. I might even understand, if the child is the one who found my spouse. But if that person went on the hunt for their long lost child without telling me? That it a very big problem.

I certainly don't want to see Victor raging about this, but if he isn't hurt and doesn't question the level of trust in the relationship, that would be unrealistic.

This is Victor Newman, I am almost 99% positive that he knows about this child already. And probably kept the child from looking for Nikki.

As for real life, I would be upset that I wasn't told. But it wouldn't be a deal breaker and my initial shock would pass fairly quickly.

Of course Victor should know, but as Katherine's death and many other things have shown us, these writers only know and understand these characters on a very basic level.

I think the biggest problem with josh griffiths y and r is how boring it's been. I think the memorial was well done but it lacks any real excitement. Jean Passanante speciality is classic romance. That's y and r needs is that classic romance driven with sweeping umbrella stories and that Jean Ps strength and hopefully we see that when her material shows up.

So Victor Jr gets his son back and the first thing he tries to do is take the baby from his mother. Nice.

Look at Nikki already providing reasons why Victor should get a pass for being mad at her.

Say what? Lol.

Jonnysbro,

I love you but I have to respectfully disagree. Jean Passanantate SUCKS at romance. She's another hack that does insta-pairings/romances.

Jack & Janet, fail.

Paul & Meg, MAJOR fail.

Lily & Damian 2.0/Mike/Keith, SUPER fail.

Casey & Allison (though good on paper), EPIC fail.

JP writes dreadful romances. I picture her being just like MAB, pairing people that'd never be together.

Dirty Granny Nikki & Kevin pairing coming soon!

"The only thing you have contributed to that boy is the possibility that he may go blind." So wrong but I laughed. ph34r.png

I laughed too. Adam is such a jerk. Name's not even on the birth certificate yet he thought he could just walk out with Conner
