April 14, 201115 yr Member Ugh! JR's happily-ever-after will be Marissa finally agreeing to reunite with him, because there's really no time for anything else. Tad will end up with Cara, because there is no time for anything else. I like Tad & Cara, but as the ultimate finale to Tad's almost 40-year arc, it doesn't feel right. Even if Josh Duhamel agreed to come back to usher Greenlee off they wouldn't do it because they wouldn't allow Ryan to be alone at the end, and there's no time for anything else. Unless MCE agrees to return to wrap up the show, and I so think they'll get TK back for at least the last month. Oh yeah Josh returns, Leo would just be a Rylee prop. I just can't believe they waited so long to ax K&S
April 14, 201115 yr Member I still can't get over how little time AMC has to wrap up. Ideally they would trash some of the completed scripts that are in the pike but yet-to-be produced. That would buy them a couple more weeks at least. But I guess that's not really feasible. Ugh! All I can think of/hope is that this is why Lorraine agreed to come on--to try to give some dignity to the show's final months. But it really is ridiculously short. (Then again with even more time didn't ATWT kinda mess up their ending too? I'm not a massive fan so can't fairly comment, but I did get the impression many thought they should have been leading somewhere and they didn't really till kinda the last few episodes...) Maybe havign Agnes still alive is a good thing--she's admitted that she's too old and tired to HW anything anymore, but it'd be nice if AMC (and maybe even OLTL) could end with an episode and in a place that she really was at least ok with. I think I'll die of sadness though if it ends with Agnes herself closing that big book...

April 14, 201115 yr Member Hey maybe my idea of spinning off AMC as a primetime sitcom isnt such a bad idea now! LOL You need a Kane/Mongtgomery Family Ties spinoff.

April 14, 201115 yr Member Toups just posted that OLTL beat GH in Total Viewers this week in the ratings......lol And GH is the safe one.
April 14, 201115 yr Member Kelly Ripa's comments: http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/04/14/kelly-ripa-all-my-children-cancellation/ Following ABC’s announcement that the network has decided to cancel two daytime soap operas, All My Children (in September) and One Life to Live (early next year), Kelly Ripa, the Live! with Regis & Kelly host who starred on All My Children from 1990 to 2001, has spoken out about the series’ demise. Said Ripa in a statement released to EW: “This is like losing a member of your family. All My Children was more than a job — it was my family. It was there that I met my husband; it was there when my first two children were born; it was there where I met many of my life-long friends. It was the greatest training ground ever. I feel heart sick.” While starring as Hayley Vaughan on the series, Ripa began dating now-husband Mark Consuelos, who played Vaughan paramour Mateo Santos Sr.
April 14, 201115 yr Member It will be interesting to see how the Tale of Two Todds plays out on OLTL. Well, Toups, it looks like Ken Corday will finally start to get his long-coveted emmy nominations. With four shows left they'll probably all get nominated for best show, best writing, best directing, etc.
April 14, 201115 yr Member I honestly don't believe he cares enough to mandate a particular storyline end, and I hope that is true enough to work in our favor (for both AMC and OLTL). And in my opinion, Broderick is so much more than decent enough... She really is the best person to be writing AMC's final days. I take some comfort, and have some optimism, in that part. At this point I feel a fool for having any optimism, yet, I agree with you. With OLTL I'm more worried about FV and RC continuing in the current path of givign DOrian less and less, adding more random shirtless male characters, etc--but I don't see Frons really directly interfering in either show anymore. He seems relieved.

April 14, 201115 yr Member EW article, how they found out http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/04/14/abc-brian-frons-all-my-children/ Frons told the cast and crew of AMC personally before the announcement went out to the press some 15 minutes later. (The cast and crew of the New York-based OLTL was video linked at the same time). Unlike when CBS announced the demise of Guiding Light and As the World Turns, Frons said it was important to immediately reveal how the soaps will be replaced because “otherwise we will appear like we have no plan. It’s important for our affiliates. If we make the decision to take off two shows we value, then they need to know how we will replace them.”
April 14, 201115 yr Member OMG! Cheap! I thought the Full House theme would have been great for the Martins. But, The Hogan Family theme made it Fan-freaking-tasic. +1000000000000
April 14, 201115 yr Member +1 to DeeeDee That would be awesome. Brad has gotten years of story (for better or worse) out of the Forresters & Logans. It's only right he give the Spectra's a chance to be revitalized. Anything is better than LAD trying to be sexy & Brandon Beemer pretending to be straight.
