It is wild that they actually brought on a lovely girl to play Amy, Penny Hughes' long-forgotten Asian daughter in this England storyline with Frannie and (AFAIK) did not bring her back to Oakale or put her on contract. It's such an obvious move.

I wish more of this key period was available; this is where the uploads for '86/'87 get thready for awhile.

Well Tom's long lost Asian daughter didn't get much of a look in after her first go round either.

Irna tried that story twice-on Love Is A Many Splendored Thing the character lasted a few months and then when she went back to ATWT. The minute she was fired Amy was out of Oakdale.

IIRC, we may actually get a scene with Lien and Amy, unless that's just something I invented because it sounds right. Either way, they should have done more with the character, and with Penny if Rosemary Prinz was still willing to return.

I'd never heard of this pilot, but Anne Sward pops up a few times as mother of the bride, a spin on that part which gives her a fun moment or two (mainly near the end of the episode).

I kept trying to figure out if the lead's stripper girlfriend is Yvonna Kopacz but...I don't think so?

Thanks @Soapsuds . I am sure that story could be seen as a bit arch now, but it was so important for the time, and given how increasingly anti-gay this country is, the sincerity in the writing is as necessary now as it was then.

Someone put up some November 1991 episodes that I don't think I've seen on Youtube before (I may be wrong as there's a lot of undated material on one channel). I was wondering if any of you could help with my confusion over the dates. Based on the promos in these first two episodes (everything after that is bits of material that is already on Youtube), I'd say the first is November 14th and the second is November 13th. However, there are episodes on Youtube dated the 13th and 14th that are completely different from these. Are those misdated? Or am I just completely wrong in all this (not the first time)?

The ATWT material starts about 2 hours in.

Thanks! I'm still usually making my way chronologically as best I can through the Marland years but I do warp ahead at times for special stuff.

There's nothing in there I'd say is must-watch but anything from that time I think may not have been up before I wanted to alert people to in case it's not up for long and they want to save it.

The partial episode from 4:04:50 to 4:19:08 is from Friday, Nov. 8.

I wish I could be of more help, but in some cases, the episodes seem to be going in reverse order or out of sequence.

Thanks. I appreciate your help. I did notice they were going in reverse order - I guess because old material was being taped over, and scraps were left.

And sorry for anyone I forgot to tag.

Based off the Jake and the Fatman episode advertised at 3.35, that episode (I Could Write a Book) aired 11.13.91

Interestingly enough, the episode on youtube (that I found anyway) dated 11.13 also has a Jake and the Fatman eppy advertised,  and that episode (I'll Never Be the Same) actually aired 11.6.91. Which jives more with my memory of Lily and Holden's first wedding being the first week of November.

What I found interesting is that in spite of these episodes being in November sweeps, I didn't see any sweeps promos for any CBS soap. (which I had assumed would be the easiest way to cross-check dates).

Singer Angie Stone has died. ATWT used her song "I Wish I didn't Miss You" in their emmy montage for the 2001 emmys.

Thanks. Glad to have more info on the dates for the Lily and Holden wedding episodes too.

It's very sad about Angie - still so young too, for today.

Thanks for the tag @DRW50!

On an interesting note KXTV the CBS station in Sacramento here dropped GL in 1990 supposedly due to low ratings and never aired it again. KXTV and KOVR swapped affiliations in 1995 and KOVR never carried GL either even when CBS bought it in 2006.

KCRA Sacramento also refused to AW for all of the 90’s.

Did any independent stations pick up GL or AW in those markets? I have seen that happen elsewhere.

It is bit arch, and I love how Hank is so...generic and nice and as this is Marland...polite (but if we had a "Hey Babs..you betta just quit being a Ho for married men!" people would have freaked!) ATWT was really ahead of its time there and it never got the credit...though I hated how Hank just disappeared.

I love the scene of Bob yelling at John about the technician and then John blows it over to ask how long has he known about Hank, and Andy being around him...and then how EVERYONE in town seemed to know about Hank's HIV test...because as Bob said.."We asked him to tell Andy about it" Okay Bob..be sure to do the same when you go for a STD test from banging Suzy Q!!! I love soap conventions!
