  1. This show will pair up anyone (preferably on recurring) to avoid hiring new people they don't want, while keeping played-out characters or hiring randos from any other soap. Then GH pleads poverty and we're expected to get behind any half-ass budget pairing. It's a vicious cycle.
  2. Oh, I definitely think that triangle was the model for this story under Mulcahey, except I think here the endgame was Drew and Nina which I was very into. And I think it suited Cameron and Watros well. But now given the messy hash they've made of it since the changeover I'd just do Who Killed Drew. I have always just found Sasha insanely boring, but that's me.
  3. No one wants it. I also think that's the smart play, though I think it's too late for the Blake/Ross/Holly (probably inverted) triangle Mulcahey was going to do. I think Who Killed Drew needs to end in Willow doing it (and probably framing Nina). I see no reason to keep Sasha, Willow or their kids around. The Sasha Scorpio story has been insanely unpopular and she is a deeply boring character.
  4. I don't. I'm tired of randos being slapped together for budget.
  5. No. This is classic cheapo FV thinking. Put any two cheap non-contract players over 30 together. It's what put Kevin and Laura together, because JL was a vet and off-contract. It's what put Robert and Diane together. Lucy and Martin. Scott and Obrecht. Many others. Rena Sofer is a brilliant actress who they were insanely lucky to get back who deserves a contract and an actual storyline. Not GH's constant Wal-Mart method of storytelling: Slap any two randos together and call them a couple or a storyline. INVEST.
  6. I do think he loved Witter's Tina, but I think without her or Cain he had no real interest.
  7. Of course, why recast a vital younger character who is central to a core family when you can hold the role for somnambulant Chad when he's ready to return for a buck fifty? Idiotic.
  8. I'd be all for Jax and Lois at this point too. I don't think it's that weird after so long, and he did come on the show with an eye for her. But without Ingo, again I don't necessarily see a point in having him here. Having a strong and interesting love interest for Rena is the only compelling reason I can think of to have a recast Jax, actually lol
  9. Well, Valentini and the network had to be bullied to keep her on contract, twice. But I am glad she is here.
  10. "Longstanding cast members" doesn't really count for much at Frank's GH, where they often refuse to cut anyone. Willow and Sasha have been here for over six years - that's insane. Chad worked hard for a long time, then stopped a long time ago. I have been wanting a rest for the character and recast for a long time, but I'll settle for a recast. I am willing to bet everyone has.
  11. My suspicion is Frank offered him a take it or leave it pay cut which has so often happened with exits here and OLTL, but I could be way off.
  12. Robert Adamson is equally weak. They need a strong performer in that role. Chad used to be quite good but has been checked out for almost a decade.

Never sure how I feel about colorization of DW. I still need to see the Daleks edit. Cutting The War Games specifically down to 90 minutes seems egregious - I'm sure it has plenty of fat, but it's not the same as cutting down a classic Terry Nation runaround. I'd at least give it 120 minutes. And we'll see how the 'new regeneration' comes off.
  14. That is news to me. I've never really seen Gary talk about OLTL since being fired. It is for the best they dumped Skye. Crazy he was told Andrea was 'too old' to play Tina.
  15. Most of Jax's remaining personality is the accent, lol. I see no reason to recast him, let alone without it. Adam Harrington was always mediocre to me except for that one speech. I could not have seen him as Jax.
  16. Exactly. Ater all the lies and philandering secrets already layered onto him by that point, it was not off-brand.
  17. Those dreams were not that early at all. Sloan died in early '95 IIRC and Viki's alters broke out very quickly after in February, I believe. The Victor/Dorian case revisit had been going for at least a year if not longer, but they had been slowly having it percolate since Sloan's arrival in '92 because of his fascination with Victor Lord. I can't recall exactly when it hit high gear but it was only after Robin Strasser came back in spring(?) '93, maybe 6-12 months after that. Erika and Agnes Nixon can think what they like, but when I started watching as a kid and they began broaching the issue of Victor, who it was clear Viki idolized, I knew something was off from the jump in how everyone talked about this dead man and this was long before any dreams or the like. They were very clever and subtle initially, but I had watched Twin Peaks with my mother so I was primed to be suspicious. I never spoke it aloud but I was not shocked when the truth came out, only shocked that they'd gone there. It was inevitable to me.
  18. I mean, he wasn't a dead man walking for the duration of his time on the show. People like Sloan have lived with their conditions for years. And as you say, he was in remission for some time. It was not, in '93 or '94 a situation where people were like checking the clock waiting for Sloan to die, at least not IIRC. Had Clint Ritchie stayed healthy and other factors not intervened they might have sped up the timetable on Sloan's demise as was allegedly planned, but we really have no idea.
  19. LOL, maybe I'll look it up in the Wayback Machine. They did have some horny-ass scenes though. I think we saw some of their mostly naked wedding night or honeymoon.
  20. Yeah, I'm not sure George Reinholt being a down on his luck piece of male arm candy is the same thing as Stephen Martines, known scammer.
  21. Sure, but that was also a very different time. Almost no soap had anything like that. Having Billy was a huge step in '92-'93. Yeah, the Ben and Blondie fanbase and the Viki/Clint fans despised each other at the time. I was never a part of that but I remember some real psychos in the mix. Nonetheless, while B&B had a vocal fanbase they were not a supercouple and a lot of the audience just hated all the Rappadavidsons period.
  22. I forgot that one lol. Another story that will never be explained, and I was sure they would during the writing changeover in the spring.
