  1. A huge part is they seemed to simply saddle Kate Mansi with a prewritten, timewaster story like the surrogacy which isn't any good for anyone. For a number of months IIRC she did very little, which led people to question why she was even hired. I think she is talented and has done good work in the role in the spring and early summer before things went really south, but she's being sabotaged by the worst kind of material. If they're not trying to assassinate the character then they desperately need to retool. Frank of course hates to do that. I like Gio as I've said before, but I see no reason for him to be a Bensonhurst love child who will only unnecessarily age Dante and BLQ further. The (relatively) 'younger' and actual young adult characters on this show are staid and desexualized enough as is. He could be anyone's kid down the line if he really has to somebody important's, but I'd sooner they just keep playing him as the happy wanderer/stud with Trina, etc. If they ever let him take his shirt off. Anyway, it's just another unnecessary blood connection to me right now. Willow, Sasha and Chase are all tiresome nobodies to me. I'd write them all out in various ways and probably kill Chase to send BLQ spiraling (and likely recast). Though I'd have Willow kill Drew and frame Nina, as I've said before. Nobody is asking for Amanda Setton to do 'side nudity.' But she is playing a younger woman on a soap opera in a genre driven by intimacy and passion. She conveys none onscreen. Whether some of us spend a lot of time on social media or not, we don't know these people personally. They are not our friends. People are allowed to criticize the show, the actors, the stories and it doesn't mean that not blindly agreeing with anything it does will get the show cancelled, or that to be nice you have to want to make sure everyone stays employed.
  2. That doesn't mean it's good for the show or the characters. Criticizing this show online doesn't mean we're going to get it cancelled. Suggesting actors be let go is fair game. They're not our friends.
  3. She had no problem being a vixen on OLTL and stole half the show. It's the marriage that clearly changed things.
  4. Time to recast! I hate it because she was a perfect fit in the role, once upon a time.
  5. Kristina needs a break, after having all her spoiled bullshít about that baby shoved back down her damn throat. This is exactly why the entire surrogacy story should never have happened, she's always been like this. It's ruined a promising recast and made her unbearable. I would reposition her after a few months of low airtime in the new year and then slowly find someone new for her. But Frank never says die with unpopular characters who are fúcking up unless he is forced to or when re-up time rolls around and they ask for more money. So we'll probably see him quadruple down. Please know that if I have posts from users I've blocked quoted at me so that I can see them in order to inject herself into this discussion I will report both parties. I say this because it's been done before. Let's not get cute the day before Turkey Day.
  6. I loved her on OLTL, I thought she was an ideal recast early on and I don't think Frank will ever let her go, but if this is how this is going to go forever with Setton it's time to recast. And don't get me started on the Gio thing. It is so unnecessary to do this with Dante and BLQ, let alone with a grown young man. (And I say that as someone who likes Gio and who would play Dante and BLQ together for awhile after nuking Chase.) These sexy adults do not need more kids let alone grown children.
  7. I have considered taking the package deal from sometime but I don't want to rebuild my entire Hulu library in Disney+.
  8. Laura's '90s wardrobe is starting to look like Prince's Love Symbol by comparison.
  9. James is yet another child who should not exist but he's at least more tolerable in doses than Emma, Bechtel's Spencer, wooden-headed puppet boy Cameron of the bygone past, hellspawn Charlotte, the Anointed One (Violet) and paste-eater Wiley. I'm a good person.
  10. Rena's Lois would not and should not be with Lorenzo Alcazar, minus a past regretful fling.
  11. That would make sense. I remember hearing something about her family.
  12. It's a tricky problem. I think it's easy enough though to have most of the artists or talent be largely offscreen, or when it's a contract player (like Danny Romalotti on Y&R) have most of their action be out of town. With someone like Dillon, a filmmaker, I can think of ways to make it work or innovate on it, or just move him into a somewhat different field in media where he can be closer to home. But Dillon becoming just another ELQ drone would be depressing. I do think something like BLQ functioning like Jack Antonoff or whatever (a songwriter/creative) could work, but I sadly can't currently imagine Colonial Woman on the Wing Churning Butter* BLQ doing any of that at present. Maybe if Chase dies in a horrible sweeps incident! (* - apologies to Bridesmaids)
  13. I'll give it that it was at least vaguely topical and silly fun with an existing GH framework (L&B) that was not mob-oriented. But the execution (especially Dillon doing a She's The Man) was dreadfully stupid lol. I don't mind telling a showbiz story on soaps though the format makes it inherently limited when you're not in a big city and can only change a character's status quo so much. I think it can be a unique challenge rarely solved well (which is probably part of why Dillon is not back). Singing stories almost never work well lol. But I would take Lois and possibly BLQ back to L&B in some new media way, while keeping Brook in the mix at Deception.
  14. Remember the whole American Idol L&B riff with Clive Robertson from Sunset Beach as Fake Simon and Dillon dressed in drag? Woof.
  15. I would probably let them mention it, since I am pleased when you can casually mention weird history (like the whole Tomas Delgado thing, easily explained in one line of dialogue) in a not totally gratuitous way, which this show too often does over the last 10+ years. I would not go back there though lol.
  16. I just remember that the Peapack model made what was left of the Cedars sets look like the sushi joint from The Simpsons. Paper walls. I used to call it Sushi Hospital.
  17. I hate those kind of loose ends so I'd still pin it on Ava or Witch Nose Brennan/Pikeman or something. But I don't care either.
  18. Black Patch still sounds like a gay porn site. Don't get excited, old men.
  19. Are we really debating someone's fuckin' Bing AI search results in the Beyond the Gates production thread?
  20. I would bring Alcazar back for at least an arc, but not for Lois lol. And yes, that was all my thinking on Jax. There's a history and he plugs in all over. One of those dudes Carl dug up is hot! I'm so behind on Neighbours.
  21. The last thing this show needs (and the first thing it always wants) is another long-ass inoffensive baby story to kill time and pay for itself. This whole setup with Slow Talker Sasha's maybe baby is a prime opportunity for a classic soap exit of a useless character, where she leaves secretly pregnant with a major core child who can then return many, many, many years from now. Or not! Hey, even Kim Nero did it. Incidentally, I have heavily warmed to @carolineg's suggestion of recasting Jax for Lois. The buy-in is already there for his character and there is some history for it. It's the only good reason I can think of to bring back or recast Jax. Anyone know any available Aussies from Neighbours or something in the age range?
  22. I'm not sure they know either. But that's par for the course with GH. If (as some think) they try to put her over with Steve in some sort of baby Michael redux I will die laughing. Steve and Sofia Mattsson together is like weapons grade Sominex and even more of a nonstarter for me than him and Kelly Thiebaud, who I couldn't stand on the show in any story - but say what you will about her, Thiebaud and Steve had heat (and fans). Plus there's the equally bizarre Anna thing atm.
