The Head Writers confirmed to the latest SOD that he's leaving, but I'm really thinking, and hoping, that it's a fake out. I think it will be, because just in last weeks SOD, with the fall previews, they were quoted saying that David would be a "Puppeteer" in the Fall. Why would they say that if they were going to kill him off??

I think we will see David soon, alive and well, and he will be haunting everyone in PV, and that's where this whole puppeteer business comes in. Really don't think he's dead. That would be really horrible if he is, huge loss for AMC!!

I'm leaning towards a fake-out but am worried because if Vincent's contract expires this year then it expires in the next couple of weeks (based on his first airdate back in 2008). Even if his contract doesn't actually expire this year they could still let him go at the end of this cycle.

Could TPTB be waiting to see what the reaction is like to David's "death" and then decide whether or not to renew/keep him?

I do remember it being said that Vincent was going to wait till after the school year to decide if he wanted to keep commuting or not, I do think this is a fakeout though.

I wish these people would spend as much time and energy producing quality shows as they do trying to manipulate us with fake stuff in the press.

I hope it's a fake out. If it's true they could bring back Robert Gardner as pine valley's villain.

I'm pretty sure it's a fake out (because that term just had to be used one more time in this thread ), but I'm hoping we're "in" on it and get to see David running his scheme in the wings.
