Sami & Kate is so overdone. It is no longer interesting as it was a few years ago.

As long as Sami is tied to Austin or Lucas, which is forever since she has a kid by Lucas, the Sami vs Kate rivalry will live on!

Good:

-The Salem Serial Killer being Marlena

-Jan's return

-Melaswan

-Nicole and Jan working together

-Crystal Galore (I really wish she could have stayed a bit longer, she was hilarious)

-Stan

-Sami and Nicole working together to bring down Kate

Bad:

-Involving Crystal in the whole Marlena died thing (I really wished they could have involved her in a different storyline)

-The castle

-Iraq

-Sending Jan into a coma

-Alex North

-Mimi keeping the paternity secret this long!!!

-Nicole dissappearing

-Not having any Jan and Smi working together plots (I wouldv'e loved to see those two in kahoots)

That's because this time, JER just has them in the same storylines. Like Kenny said, they need their own individual storylines. That's how it was in the 90s and later on. Then, you would have the two of them put together and it would be refreshing.

I just wanna say ITA with Drew and marlenarocks. :)

The beginning of Jan's return.

*gasp* You're the first person besides me who's said anything positive about that!! Are you a Heather Olson fan?

where is all this praise for Maggie getting more screen time coming from? Am I the only one who remembers Maggie making a once a month appearance in their pathetic little triangle?!

Jan didn't build the cage herself. Nicole helped her!

I remember the montage at the end of that episode, too. We float around to everyone in Salem, sad in all of their dramas... cut to Jan, stroking the bars of the cage... sexy.

You said it, Kenny!

Shawn in a Cage did NOT suck.

That was some sexy, sexy, SEXY [!@#$%^&*]!!!

(Except of course, having to look at Jason Cook's unshaven face, armpits and pubes).

The bad....

he started writing the show to begin with

The good....

he's leaving

I nominate this for the BEST post of 2006. :D

The Kate/Sami rivalry will never die. Koslow and Sweeney always rock it even when the writing sucks. They just need to give them separate stories like everyone says.

Shawn in a cage only was entertaining because of Heather Lindell otherwise it sucked and dragged out forever.

The most disappointing thing was how the SSK and island story turned out. That story just crashed and burned after a great start. That was a sure sign that JER would never run amok without interference while at Days this time.

The Broe wedding was a surprise too. JER actually did a good job with that and I would say last Fall was good as a whole as Jack and Jen had a emotional story (the suicide stuff and all) and the beginning of Shimi was great until the paternity secret.

I really thought JER had somethibg back in January but things just started to burn out in April. The show just wore down and here we are. His second tenure started great and then crashed and burned and tried to recover again before crashing again. It was a letdown but I do think Corday had some major influence on his writing. Not excusing JER but I do know that factor was there.

I will always be greatful that we got Christie Clark, Wayne Northrup, Julie Pinson, Billy Warlock, Darin Brooks, Ashley Benson, Rachel Melvin (yeah I know throw stones  ), Heather Lindell, SOLE, Suzanne Rogers actually getting something to do, Judi Evans, excellent material for Deidre early on, and the long awaited return of Nichols and Evans during his tenure.

I will never be happy about destroying Tony and giving us Iraq, castle hell, island hell, and all the other boring crap which there is so much of but I don't have two hours  .

  • Drake Hogestyn and Lauren Koslow creating magic with the pairing of John and Kate. That's fire for you!!!
  • Taking a chance on couples such as John/Kate, Shawn/Mimi, and Patrick/Hope. Sorry, but there is nothing fun or interesting anymore about the so-called "rooting" golden couples.
  • Brady and Chloe reuniting, getting married, and riding off into the sunset together.
  • Finally getting rid of the excess baggage that was Nicole Walker.
  • Heather Lindell, Julie Pinson, Billy Warlock, Ashley Benson, and Mandy Musgrave
The Bad
  • John Black missing most of his only son's wedding to chase after his brainless blob of a wife.
  • Jack Deveraux's repeated deaths and Matthew Ashford's repeated firings.
  • The insulting Iraq storyline.
  • Marlena never having to deal with the repercussions of cheating and treating John like a lapdog.
  • Wayne Northrup returning as Alex North rather than Roman Brady.
  • Ruining the character of Tony DiMera and wasting Thaao Penghlis' talent
The Ugly
  • the whole show, once again, being completely Marlena-centric at the beginning and end of Reilly's "reign"
  • The ridiculous nature of the Shimi/Shelle/Phelle/Phimi surrogacy storyline. It makes me ill.
That's all for now...

The Good

- THE RETURN OF JAN SPEARS!!!!!!!!! I have never been more happy than I was when I first saw Heather Olson back at DAYS.

- The CAGE story

- ALL of the Salem Stalker story

- The first half of the island story

- The character of Patrick, who I for one like lol

- The Kate/Sami rivalry

- Lumi (2004-2005)

- The creative Stan story that JER made for Ali's maternity leave

The Bad

- Alex North, possibly the WORST villain I've ever seen

- Getting rid of Jan

- Re-making the Sami/Austin/Carrie/Lucas story

- Chelsea. Everything about the character is stupid and a poor substitute for teenage Sami

- Unexplained events about the SSK

- John's drug addiction

- Never truely revealing who was continuously injecting John's IV for a month.

Good

-The Salem Stalker storyline. I love the vets just as much as anyone, but this story was so damn excited, and really facilitated their exits in a very entertaining, very intriguing way.

-The dead being alive! Now that was a good twist, and I loved how all the characters would slowly start to pop up. Poor Cassie though, she got a raw deal.

-Melaswen. It went right back to the classic 80s supercouple adventures! I loved it, up until a point..see below.

-The return of Carrie, Austin, Patch, Kayla, Frankie and Max

Bad

-Melaswen. Tony's explanations for the killings were lame---what were the ghosts? How did the nursery rhymes factor into it? And I didn't like Marlena and Jack and the others being presumed dead AGAIN.

-The castle. The only redeeming bits were the Cassie/Jack scenes.

-John and Kate. Ew.

-The Iraq story. Anything to do with Philip and Belle.

-Zack's death.

-Chelsea, Billie, Kate...

-Jack's always dying...

Basically, everything up until the Olympics cliffhanger was golden to me. Everything after that sucked, which is why I didn't watch Days on a regular basis again after the Olympics.
