I know that there are a lot of JER bashers out there. Not every storyline worked during his 2nd tenure but he did bring us some good stuff. Now that his stint is up on August 8...Lets talk about what he did right and what he did wrong. Now try to give both when u post your reply. I will start!

Right

• Marlena as the serial killer: Deidre Hall was SUPERB in that role. Yes we all predicted she would be the killer, but I can't think of anyone on the show who could have done a better job and Marlena was on FIYA!!
• Sami's failed wedding...again!: Yes its happened like a gazzilion times before but those scenes were phenomenal. Alison Sweeny once again proved how strong of an actress she is
• Zack's death: Man o man was Kristian and Peter good as Bo and Hope! These scenes were awesome and I love to see the actors really showcase their talent! Renee made me feel Lexie's pain too. Everything was superb. I actually started feeling sorry for Chelsea. Those scenes with Bo and Chelsea were powerful too.
• Sami and Nicole working together: Was that pure comedy or what. Man I miss Arianne Zucker...and she played comedy so well. She and Ali worked well together
• Mimi and Shawn, the beginning: Yes we all thought they were cute, and so tired of the Shawn/Belle idiocy. Mimi and Shawn gave us something fresh and new to look forward to....in the beginning of there relationship...
• Maggie had a storyline!: Yeah it was a dumb triangle between her Mickey and Bonnie but at least after years i mean, decades of being backburner she finally was given something to do...from her death scene to her triangle...she played it well
• Belle as a real character: I know this had a lot to do with the actress but the new Belle is the best Belle I have ever seen. Kirsten who? I guess JER saw more potential Martha Madison who he wrote her better.
• Jack and Frankie scenes: If I didn't know better, I would think that these too were in love. Their scenes together were so good that it made you wander if Jenifer would have been the one to end up being all alone

Wrong

• Stan and the Iraq storyline: It started off with potential but the ball was dropped and it just became dumb and offensive to real soldiers
• The Serial Killer resolution: Man...the ending was crap! I mean..I was glad to have people back but geez....they could have come up with something else! And what was with castle foolishness?
• Sami's going back to being a teenager: Yes..Sami did regress back to high school with whining, complaining, blaming John for everything and wanting her parents back together...JER...why didn't u make Sami grow up!!
• Sami vs Kate round 4752718.34: Ok..yes...I do like the Sami and Kate arguements but enough is enough...can Kate and Sami have different enemies now please?!?
• Kate the medling mother: Been there, seen that done too many times...it was cool in the 90s when Sami was blackmailiing her but give her something else to do! I miss businesswoman Kate
• Geometry 101: Why did every storyline involve a triangle and square? There was a pentagon throne in there too (Sami, Lucas, Austin, Nicole, Carrie) The triangle/square things is sooooooooo old now!
• Alex North: What the heck was JER thinking with this one? It started off good because it was mysterious but the ball was dropped yet again!
• Victor not getting airtime: I don't know about anyone else but I love Victor. He needs to be back in power and running things again like he was in the 90s. Bring back Stefano and make them but heads or something!
• Jack dying yet again: I mean come on..enough is enough..how many times can Jenifer mourn Jack!?!? Give me a break!
• Patrick/Bo/Hope/Billie crap!: enough said!
• Carrie/Austin/Lucas/Sami: So JER brought back Carrie and Austin to continue the DUMB storyline that was finished (as far as I am concerned) in 97!

Pretty much agree with everything.

Although, Sami vs Kate really isn't JER fault. Pretty much every HW has done the same thing.

I want them to work together again like they did when they tried to bring Nicole down.

Yea I have to agree....as much as I couldn't stand Chloe, I did like the wedding with her and Brady. And did JER destroy Tony or what!! But then I guess that was JER's revenge because Thaoo leaked the secret of the big twist. I wish they didn't have Lexi sleep with Tek. Abe didn't deserve that...by the way, is that storyline on hold or something? I thought I would be seeing more dramatic scenes from Renee and James now that the affair is public.

Jan didn't build the cage herself. Nicole helped her!

I remember the montage at the end of that episode, too. We float around to everyone in Salem, sad in all of their dramas... cut to Jan, stroking the bars of the cage... sexy.

These two will never tire me out. Look at Kay and Jill on Y&R. Their fued has lasted over 30 years, just recently concluding in, may I say, a very creative way, but where are they now? Neither women have the amount of airtime they used to.

I say let Kate vs. Sami live on until the end of time. One thing I'll never be able to thank JER enough for.

Kate and Sami should never be friends... always enemies. But there needs to be more to them aside from SOLELY trying to ruin one another's lives. Bickering, and having the occasional !@#$%^&*]-fest "I'm going to KILL you!" scenes are nice and all. But they should have individual stories. Sometimes they do a fantastic job at that, and other times they don't. It grates on my nerves when Kate's sole purpose in life is to destroy Sami, because there's so much more that could be going on with her to make her a complete, engrossing character. Thankfully, Lauren Koslow pulls it off every time, no matter what.

It's shocking to me that Kate and Sami have never had an actual knock-down, drag-out fight. Kate has tried to choke Sami a few times... remember the time in 1998? Sami had just accused Lucas of child abuse, and when everyone left the room, Kate grabbed Sami by her hair, spun her around and choked her for nearly an entire episode! It was fantastic, LoL. But they've never really had any rolling-around-on-the-floor, hairpulling, fist-flying CATFIGHTS. Never that I can recall! It's always verbal.

IMO, Sami vs. Kate will always be one of daytime's greatest rivalries.
