Today was really good. It proves that you don’t need action or over the top characters and plot points to make good soap. If Days did more episodes like today’s, it would be a much different show.

Plus, episodes are always a lot better when the unholy trio doesn’t appear

I like how they incorporated storylines in Salem, into a mostly Beyond Salem episode. Abe’s conversations with Chad and with Steve were the type of slow moving studies that I like to see, that the show really needs more of.

And Bo slowly remembering his life (and the flashbacks of it) were really good as well. I’m glad that they’re taking their time. Rushing it would ruin it. PR did well today too. I just hope that

And with all this talk that Kimberly is working for the ISA and trying to help Harris, maybe it’s time for a Donovan-centric Beyond Salem

I think I have said before that I prefer Kimberly to Kayla and would fully welcome a Donovan Beyond Salem.  It's a shame Theresa kinda sucks, but since I am open about my Molly Burnett love I might as well say Jen Lilley doesn't bother me at all. lol  I'd take her back as Maxie in a second.

She has some big teeth lol.

I always thought Kim/Shane were one of the most complex supercouples even if they did tend to get the same stories over and over.  Kim wasn't an action adventure heroine and was mostly based at home in Salem.  Her backstory also made her much more interesting as Hope, Kayla, Marlena were relatively "normal".   I am here for your idea and Jen Lilley is a go.  I bet Tate isn't a brat like Rachel.

NO CONTRACT ACTORS IN FIRST TWO ACTS OF THURSDAY'S EPISODE...EITHER TIES OR SETS A NEW "DAYS" RECORD...

There were no contract actors in any scenes in the Teaser Act or Act One of the Thursday, March 23 episode. This would either tie or be a new "Days" record, with it possibly never happening before.

I was not making a disparaging remark about Trevor Donovan's politics, which I know nothing of. I was simply making a disparaging remark about his gorgeous Aryan looks, lol. To the best of my knowledge Donovan is no Nazi, he simply looks exactly like one, which was off-putting for a rare Jewish Horton character.

    • While we never believed that and never wanted that for Nikki.
    • It was! Fajitas with flour tortillas, beans, and potato salad. Butter pecan ice cream for dessert.
    • I see Nikki has got the Katherine treatment and is now referred to as a legendary business woman.
    • Also, in a long-ago news report about the backstage goings-on of the show, the host opened the segment by giving historical facts about AW, including Bay City's location being in Michigan. The clip is, or at least was at one point, available on Youtube. I watched it twice. Somerset, the spin-off sister soap, was explicitly acknowledged to be in Michigan too. When Heather Lawrence was told by her mother, Eve, that they were moving there permanently, Heather complained about not wanting to go to that, "dreary little town in Michigan." On a talk show once (it might have been Merv Griffin; I forget), Audra Lindley spoke about her career pre-Three's Company. She said, "I was on a soap opera for years called Another World. It was set in Bay City, Michigan...." And then she elaborated on her antagonistic character of Liz Matthews. Finally, even Google has its say: "Yes, Somerset, a township in Huron County, Michigan, is relatively close to Bay City. It's located to the north-east of Bay City, and the drive is generally less than an hour. The two towns are linked by the Saginaw River and Lake Huron, according to a local information source." The two towns, whose names at least exist in real life, were always said on-air to be close to each other and separated by water. The opening logo of Somerset even had a visual depiction of this. Why TPTB at P&G later changed AW from Michigan to Illinois, who knows? Maybe they just made the arbitrary/pointless decision to set AW, TGL and ATWT in the same state. Maybe those in charge were just ignorant of the facts and didn't care about consistency and continuity. Remember this is a company which mandated dropping the article THE from The Guiding Light and The Edge of Night in order to "modernize" the shows and "attract a younger audience." (If anyone can explain the irrational logic of that loopy decision, let me know, LOL.) So, yes, Bay City was originally set in Michigan. There is a real Bay City in that state, just like there's a Genoa City, Wisconsin on Y&R and a real Genoa City in Wisconsin. Retcons and historical inaccuracies are not uncommon on soaps, alas. Out of curiosity, were you watching in the late 1960s and early 1970s? Michigan was mentioned, on-air, more than once, back then. I kept extensive scrapbooks of all my favorites soaps at the time (yes, I had no life, LOL), and I made notes of trivia like this, characters' addresses, telephone numbers, etc.
    • It just reinforces everything that's wrong with this couple and this show, doesn't it? It's not romantic, it's not sexy, it's not anything. Instead, I end up thinking about the set -- how long it took to put up even more greenery to remind us we're in the park, that the weather in WI must be really mild to produce those full-bloom roses, and how adorable that they've added tables so people can carry Panera there to eat.
    • Yeah... Joss needs to die. So sick of her. And it would be so nice if the professor did it. Btw, ruining Emma is not gonna make people like Joss. It's just gonna make us like Emma more. Luckily, I enjoyed the rest of the episode. And yes, Gio did look hot

I was totally here for Brook Lynn vs. Lulu, even though I'm Team Brook Lynn. This confrontation definitely need to happen and I hope it's the first of many. I'm curious to see what's going to happen from here. I don't like Ric all that much, but he was kickin' ass today. Hopefully, this leads to Willow getting custody. I did feel bad for Sasha though. I'm still loving how we have to hate Boyle even though he's 100% correct  And yeah, I still don't know what they're doing with Lucky and Liz but I liked their scenes today. They're so good together, and honestly, they should become like Dante and Sam: a couple with no conflict lol I think they've earned their happily ever after.
    • For real. Can she at least go to Orphey Genes on lunch break? There's so much mess that she hasnt seen and we missed her commentary
    • They had a brief affair before Sonni left to take a job out of state. He liked that she knew nothing about his past and she liked that he knew nothing about hers. I don't think they built much more story around them. As I believe someone mentioned, Forbes was not interested in staying on soaps.
    • But he's the only one of John's kids who can carry on his legacy

    • Yes and they were a sister group to the Primes which was a group that had members who went on to become Temptations. The Primettes are portrayed to a small extent in the Temptations biopic.
