Y&R needs to figure out how to make its blocking less awkward. Devon and Amanda looked like they were sitting in separate zip codes on that couch, which was supposed to be post-coital.

If Nick and Sally were to happen, wouldn't they be called Sick....lol

Some people are lobbying for that, which ok... probably more palatable than nearly septuagenarian Jack perving over someone in her early 30s, and it makes sense for Sally to go after Summer’s dad. I just can’t get excited over anything Nick.

What does Nick even do? Does he have a job? What does Phyllis do?  Do either of them have homes? They seem to spend all their time in the lobby of that dumb hotel talking about Summer and Kyle or Victoria and repetitive flirting. Neither seems to have much of a purpose anymore. No significant jobs, no rivalries, no friends, no homes, nothing resembling a story.

I guess someone like Sally could shake up the Newman family, which sorely needs a change, and Victoria and Sally could join forces to thwart Phyllis (and Summer).

Is anyone else’s DVR not recording Y&R or has it been all repeats??

I've had to re-set every day this week, and it still didn't tape GH today.

Same here.  

Same here, Saw that it didn't tape GH or Y&R Monday or Tuesday, reset DVR to tape all episodes, and it still didn't tape Y&R today, and wasn't taping GH when checked about 15 minutes in, so manually dvr'd it.

Lack of budget means no sets or extra characters,

That and years of poor stories mean Nick is pretty much superfluous at this point.

Its sad that CBS #1 soap hasn't been given financial support it needs.

I'm sure some of its primetime shows have ratings not far off Y&R but don't look like they were taped at the community center.

Unfair but because prime-time shows are in time-slots that are considered, well, prime, in terms of viewing, they command a higher caliber ad buy.

Over the past several years, I have been streaming classic daytime soaps on YT and can't help but noticed that, in the 80s, the ads tended to be more diverse and quite a few were upscale. Luxury cars, as well as household products and luxury perfumes, cosmetics and self-care products. The last time I watched a soap, I noticed that the ads seemed to feature items that were not nearly as diverse and seemed to be narrower in terms of socio-economic target. It seems like a vicious cycle in terms if money that shows the will be starved of.

Yes I guess that CBS daytime skews older and not as urban? So less desirable to advertisers.

So 2 million daytime viewers might not equate to 2 million primetime.

Also, the last time I watched daytime soaps on air, I noticed a lot of pharmaceutical commercials and various medical related products. It felt a little depressing to contemplate as I watched but I guess they are appealing to their target audience.
