A clip of Dina's 1983 arrival was on YT years ago. Maybe an upcoming theme week for long lost relatives returning might have that episode.

For you longtime Y&R fans, was there always continuous contempt towards Dina as there was when she returned again a couple years back? In soapland, I would think a 3-year run (1983-86) would equal a lot of mending of fences and forgiveness.

When she returned in Nov '91 (ostensibly for Traci's wedding but really since she was broke) it was said that she had cut off contact with the family during the prior few years, so that created new family tension even if she had previously mended fences in the 80s.

Friday, July 31:
"Victor reunites with his estranged father, Albert Miller"
(I assume that's from a press release).

Those CBS press releases are sometimes written by people who don't understand what's going on.

He is not an "estranged father".

The word "estranged" means "having lost former closeness and affection".

It should say Victor confronts his cruel biological father who was never a father to him.

Honestly they couldn't have picked Victor's debut episode from February 8, 1980 for Monday's episode?? He's the whole reason there IS a pack of Newman's! Ugh

And I agree with you all about them starting some kind of service where they upload all the classic episodes to a site, such as All Access or something like that. B&B's been doing it in the Netherlands! There's no reason why Y&R can't follow suit.

    • I dont understand the motivation behind it. Eva is her link to Ted and the Duprees and without her, she has nothing. It would have served better for Eva to be all fed up with her and leave the house on her own and Leslie try to make amends bc she needs her for this comeup she's been talking about. Eva can repair her relationship with Ted and maybe build something with the Duprees and cut her out
    • So good today Dante is overreacting blaming gio Hopefully Danny will come clean
    • Not mad at Leslie Locking Eva out, I think it's important for the audience to see her on her own for a while. Curious how scrappy and savvy she becomes on her own. Yeah, I am with you there. It feels a bit hollow; maybe if she was talking to Martin and Kat I would feel better about it. There must be more to this story. Daphnee and Ambyr owned this episode. Tugging my heart in every scene. Nicole process hurt and anger much differently than Dani though.
    • I also really enjoyed Eva's scenes with Kat today. They have an interesting chemistry. I thought it really did feel a bit like sisters at conflict. Especially with the way that Eva was trying to convince Kat to forgive Ted and them both coming to the conclusion that the man they thought was their father was different wasn't who they really thought he was initially. And the way that Eva broke down when Kat said that she was dead to her was emotional stuff. I really do think that in spite of their conflict/bickering Eva really would have loved to have gained a sister, along with a brother, father, etc... Also, I thought it was interesting how Eva kept saying that she loves Ted and Nicole. That and Leslie mentioning that Kat/Eva are almost twins really does make me wonder if Kat may really be her twin and Nicole's as well. I would gladly welcome that outcome, even if it takes a while for it to come out. At this point Leslie doesn't deserve Eva as a daughter as far as I'm concerned. And I would forward to a storyline where we found out that she's Nicole's second baby girl, and all the complex and ultimately happy feelings that would bring Nicole. Eva/Kat could still have a rivalry, especially if Nicole ended up doing some more bonding with Eva. And then we could get the rest of the family's reaction to that as well.

What you NOT gonna do to me!
    • Bravo to every single person responsible for today's episode. From the writer on down to Kraft services. Yall I'm getting emotional but I wish my granny was here to have seen this soap since she was the one to introduce me to this medium.

    • Everything is fraught with confusion. Why is Leslie pleading with the Duprees to accept Eva? She's not biological family so what is this? She's the product of an affair with their in-law so Leslie wants them to accept her? I'm getting GOOD TIMES vibes of Leslie and Eva minus the physical abuse.
    • Big fan of today's writing. In particular, I like EJ complexity, crying over Johnny and conspiring at the same is tough to pull off in the same episode, but it goes very far in explaining EJ's motives. I don't hate the idea of Cat and EJ, and I especially appreciate everyone trying to warn her, but she is sticking to the plan. Boy oh boy, when Brandon Beemer wears a shirt that matches his eyes, I get lost in the screen!
