The lighting issue is interesting to me. When I watch the show live or dvr, the lighting is darker, though not as moody as pre-2012. But when I streamthe show with the CBS app, no what what device—ipad, roku, or apple tv—the lighting/ picture is pale and washed out.

The whole point of the Kyle and summer marriage is to turn Kyle and Lola into star-crossed lovers and Lola into a classic heroine that we can root for at the expense of Summer.  I, personally, hope it backfires and the story boosts Summer's popularity instead.

I thought that Lauren Woodland did a nice job tonight when Brittany was grilling Rey about the night Sharon confessed to him. I enjoyed those scenes, she really did give it to Rey.  Rey is the only Rosales that I like and I do like him and Sharon together but he did kind of turn his back on Sharon after she confessed to him. He didn't seem like he cared that much about her after her confession, even though they had exchanged ILY's.

I understand he has a job to do but he didn't even really check up on her much or act like a man worried about woman he loves being locked up. Even if she is guilty of her role in the JT's disappearance. I thought that Brittany did a good job of painting a scenario where Rey could have been using Sharon.

Also, I think that both Kyle and Summer did a nice job of selling their engagement to Phyllis. Especially MM/Kyle. I thought he came across as believable when he was saying he realized that Summer was the one for him.

How many times have they tired to make Summer relevant? Does the feedback mean anything to these people? Do they not see her tanking in pairings? Does she move the ratings needle? Gawd...I hate Summer and have never ever cared for her.

Neither female is rootable. I don't think Summer has ever been popular with the audience.

I think Hunter King has been doing a much better job as Summer since she returned. The writing is different for her, and she’s made it work.

Jordi is doing a really good job of being mysterious as to whether he loves Sharon or not — and ditto for Mia. It’s much better than an actor who’d give it away.

i’m per Tired of the “Get rid of the Rosales family” crew.

I don't think she has either. Not since she was soras'd and bullied Jamie.

However, I'm hoping viewers don't fall for this attempt to make Lola (and Kyle). I hate when writers hurt one character to prop up another. It's always so heavy handed.

    • What if they were originally cast as Vanessa and Doug's twins and then were moved to Samantha/Tyrell when the show decided to delay introducing the twins? It's a shame they didn't stick with the original plan.

    • I don't think some of Samantha's hairstyles have worked with the ponytails and bows making her look like an older adult wearing a 10-year-old hairstyle.    Bows work on Kat much better for Kat's age and personal style. We've known since the start that Eva was a hairstylist before she began working for Nicole.  I like that they brought that back, with Ted arranging for her to work at a high-end salon.  Yesterday's scene with Martin bringing Eva over for pizza with his family, and then Eva doing hairstyles for Samantha worked (for me). I did think that the new hairstyle that Eva created for Samantha was less "little girl" and somehow even though more mature, it made the actress Najah look less aged. Can't quite explain it, but she looks better now.
    • That backdoor pilot may have failed, yet one year later "Empty Nest" became a reality anyway, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.

The show was completely revamped of course, but still....
    • Honestly, either 6-7 and 10-11 would've worked better. But maybe they wanted actors who wouldn't be held to child labour laws and needed them to be able to act, especially if they're (eventually?) going to go with their bio mama showing up (June??).
    • I thought it interesting that in the Claybon/Manning youtube with Michael Fairman, Brandon Claybon said Samantha and Tyrell were initially supposed to be 6 and 7, but aged up for technical reasons, first aged up to 10 or 11, and then finally to 16 and 17.  (Not sure what "technical reasons" means but that's what he said.) Claybon didn't mention when this decision was made to change the ages of the children. No mention of when this happened during the process of casting/writing/preparation. Just speculating: I wonder if Najah Jackson and Jaden Lucas Miller were cast later than other recurring actors due to this change? - so maybe that's how they selected Ms. Jackson?
    • Damn, there was a tiny pre-emption where I'm from and I missed the Kat/Nicole scene, according to recaps.
    • That Kristina caused the accident.
    • I'm unclear:  What specifically does Lucky know about Elizabeth's accident and Kristina?
    • Lucky and Alexis covering up Kristina's crime is disgusting. It makes no sense he'd be covering for Kristina.   Drew's plan to get custody of Michael's children was laughable and lame.
