All the Abbott dudes are assholes. Every last one of them. I know they didn’t have many dudes who were movers and shakers (at this time 12-18 months ago, almost every guy aside from Devon was “finding himself”), but they’ve waaaay overcorrected.

I don't like this jerky Billy. I only watch so often these days, but it seems like he's become really harsh and big-headed. Billy In Name Only. He's not even wisecracking, smarmy Billy anymore. Granted, they've no idea who or what Billy actually is/was, and he's changed over and over, for years, but this is the worst version thus far.

I like that Ashley did the selfish (correct) thing and left with her patents and didn't just give Jack what he cried and whined for when he did his about face apology.

It was reminiscent of an EastEnders or Coronation Street exit - Eileen did a great job. I'll miss her but also hope that she enjoys her life.

Yep. I was fully expecting a guilt-ridden, defeated Ashley being exiled by her family. This was a very satisfying exit. I thought the episodes leading to and following the big reveal were quite well-done. Ashley leaves being a recognized equal to Victor/Jack. I still wish they'd tried rekindling CAsh - ED/DG had chemistry before she left for DAYS and that could've solved the ED is "too difficult" to pair issue.  As if PB is easy, but that never stopped them from trying.

I thought the Abbott scenes were well done as well, and I liked Ashley’s departure. Again, the flashbacks could have been more effective with more expressive actors. And we all know this show will never take big climaxes into directions that might sustain interest over time. The “Where do the Abbotts go from here?” isn’t enticing enough for me to keep watching.

Even these past few days, the rest of the show has been absolutely snoozeworthy. I don’t give a fig about Devon and the Ashbys rallying around Lily in prison or the dragging out of the JT aftermath and the blackmail plot.

I echo everyones' thoughts on ED/Ashley's exit--overall, well-done.  BUT no scenes with Eric Braeden?  I get not all the actors might not have been available to tape, but at least Ashley had a phone conversation with Neil.  I believe EB is on vacation...but at least a phone call with Victor...no?!

True dat.

While this is a soap and no one is truly every gone, there was a sense of finality. And in the grand scheme of things, that just seems to be a glimpse into the future. But, I won't be a Negative Nellie.

ED is going to be missed.

I liked all of the flashback scenes - the young actors were better than John and Dina.  This was maybe the best exit I've seen and I'm glad they didn't do something crazy like kill her off.  ED wasa  bright spot of the show and I have no idea where they'll go from here.  I have enjoyed Eric Braeden being gone but it looks like he's back soon and they'll have him eating the show once again.

    • In some ways, the scene of Greg kissing Paige in front of Laura (or at least when she's at home) is tough to take as it feels like they are building his next romance in front of the woman they are dumping from the canvas, but I do appreciate that Laura was in no way bothered. She knew Paige wasn't a threat, and she also knew that even if Greg did move on, she had come through worse and wasn't going to let herself be in a Richard-like marriage ever again. I'm also glad they didn't ever try to have her choose a wife for him - not a fan of that trope. (although she probably would have chosen anyone, including Leona Helmsley, over Abby)
    • YR did air on the West Coast, only BOLD was a full pre emption They'll probably remove the BOLD episode once they realize lol
    • Today's episodes of B&B and Y&R are both up at cbs.com. No idea how this is a "full preemption." These morons need to get their ish together.
    • I may have to take a break, Ambyr has me dang near crying every time I watch.

    • I think @DRW50 had it right when he said that the Lechowicks couldn't categorize Laura as easily as they could the other women on the show.  Laura wasn't vixenish like Abby, nor was she was a heroine in the same mold as Val or even Karen.  She was entirely down-to-earth, and more the type who plays things closer to the vest.  Plus, her marriage to Greg was pretty solid (with Laura knowing exactly the kind of man she'd married) to the point where splitting them up and keeping them apart would've taken more effort than perhaps they were willing to expend. I mean, it's easy to generate conflict between Mack and Karen, because Mack and Karen are both very stubborn people who believe they can handle crises on their own; and it's easy to generate conflict for Gary and Val, too, because each is basically an overgrown teenager who'd rather suffer in silence than just express to the other how they feel.  (If only Val had swallowed her pride and just taken Gary back when he begged her to, lol).  But, unless you're Marshall Herskovitz and Edward Zwick, you'll be at a loss over what to do with a mature, adult relationship like Greg and Laura's that is built on each being 100% aware of the other's flaws.  Greg sniffing around Paige?  If that had happened while Laura was still aware, she would've just smirked or rolled her eyes and moved on.
    • B&B has uploaded May 8th episode to cbs.com and paramountplus. I wonder if it will remain or be removed?
    • -- Off, indeed. I wrote my rant while watching the show. Then I heard Dante mention manslaughter and Danny in the same sentence. Just over-the-top ridiculousness. -- Is Brad written off for good? If so, what a lousy exit. -- Portia is looking sooooooo dumb these days. Just clueless as to how she's coming across.
    • As usual, Dani makes everything all about herself.   Sweetie.. this isn't about you.   I think deep down, the Dupree would be relieved if Dani wasn't around.
    • I watched it all. I was fine with her on both GH and on PC. But, what you describe for Llanview would've worked really well. I just think the whole concept of moving her from show to show was  in big trouble from the start. And, there were some specific blunders, like MAX, GMAB, she had no idea whether she'd had a boy or a girl and he was at least a decade older than any of the others.  I did very much like the idea that Myrtle was her mom.
