Disappointed it's now become about Gloria. Yeah. The writing and casting of Noah and Kyle has sucked for the most part. I know he gets knocked a bit but I really don't mind Adamson as Noah. He's just boring and looks like Nicks brother not his son. But I think he can work as Noah. JMO. I like the supporting material they're giving him for the most part. But I think he'd be better off if Noah were gay. He hasn't exactly worked with the women they've paired him with. Marissa was fine but leagues above him and I didn't buy her with him. I could have bought Marisa with Noah had they played her as an opportunist/gold digger. But they did the same for him that they've done for every male, except devon. No matter how unlikely, they write is as though women can see past the money that these men posses to the man underneath it all and love the man, not the money. Devon is the only one they've allowed to be seen as less than a catch. Victor and the prison doctor is the worst example of this. Edited January 11, 20179 yr by ajsp35801

Well, truth be told I could get it if the character was still a scumbag and a criminal. At least he was interesting then, and I think playing that kind of role is GR's strength. What are these soap "professionals" seeing in this character that they keep him around? 4 different EPs and HWs now have found value in Kevin. It's baffling. I am sure GR is a very nice person and doesn't rub people the wrong way thus he keeps staying on the show even though Kevin hasn't be relevant in many many years.

January 11, 20179 yr Member I think it's because PB acts like an old Hollywood Diva at times, chanelling Bette Davis in his dramatic speeches. Edited January 11, 20179 yr by Aback

January 11, 20179 yr Member The new regime still has to work through a few bugs. It's not "let's start the countdown to March Madness break" territory yet. I say February sweeps will be their first test.
January 11, 20179 yr Member I didn't mind the Nick & Newman stuff so much (even if the pacing dragged & MO was terrible) because it's a nice change to see them acting like a family but the Dylan stuff was excruciating. Between the cheap sets, the lack of background music & Burton's mumbling it was like watching a bad school play. . Another thing that stood out was Y&R's elimination of friendships & tertiary characters. It's weird to watch veteran Y&R characters having important conversations with their kids. None of these middle aged people have friends anymore so they're stuck confiding their dating woes and marital problems to college kids. Edited January 11, 20179 yr by DeeeDee
