The new Ciara is horrible, she couldn't handle a rape aftermath at all. It appeared like she was upset over breaking a nail.

Nah she had some real emotion today.

That today was not real at all. Sami after Alan raped her was real, or look up GH Elizabeth's rape on Youtube that's a new young actress handling a rape storyline amazingly also.

This new Ciara is so terrible.

Actually Ali after Samis rape was fairly mediocre too just like VJ.

All Im saying is if you go watch the emotion after Bo died compared to today it is an improvement on more natural rather than trying too hard.

Belle is right up there with Summer and Ava for me....(Along with those riveting performances from Hiro Ambrosina...an actress I've seen do better with less in walk-on roles. Her Ms. Narita was stiffer than a collar in Windsor Castle)

I was dying at that. Same way that Marlena and John had Kristen saved in their phones when she first returned to Salem. Did she keep her Cingular package from back before she was sold into white slavery?

I found Vilasuso really appealing as Dario so far. I don't have any confidence that they'll have a damn clue what to do with him, but I enjoyed his scenes with Brady on Friday.

I liked the Belle/Marlena scene and thought Belle had some reasonable dialogue till she started whining about Shawn always judging her. What? Literally all Shawn has done since he came back is 1) Apologize to her despite the fact SHE cheated on HIM 2) Talk to her about her parenting in regards to Claire and considering thats his daughter too - its not unreasonable that he has some input. And then she started complaining about how no one will let poor Belle be 'wild and free and reckless.' Ugh shut up woman

Off from work so watching today. Kayla and Ava getting in a cat fight over Ava blackmailing Steve to have sex with her is so smutty/soapy and I love it.

Boo @ them aging Ciara. The little girl who played her before was so good.

I agree with Toups about too many characters btw. And do we really need Andre back? Too much baggage there.

Ha…I had forgotten the awful treatment Goutman and Pssant gave Meg. Too bad P&G characters can cross over to Days. I could be Meg who escaped and later we see Emma and Iva looking for her in Salem…LOL.

Jeanine P completely changed Meg's personality. It was heartbreaking to see what they did to one of the late great Douglas Marland's creations.Summer looks bland as hell. Summer is this years Serena.

I thought the rumour was Suzanne stayed friends with him after the break up and took his side. I’ve never heard about an affair.

A few months ago, Suzanne was interviewed for about an hour on the Soapy podcast. Although she didn't mention Deidre, she did tell a story about some resentment with other actors. She shared that when she was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis in the mid-1980s, her appearance changed and two or three of the other actors made derogatory remarks about it. Suzanne also admitted she still harbors a grudge about it, and she doubts forgiveness is in the future. Could this be the cause of the current issue between Suzanne and Deidre? I'm sure Suzanne's interview is still available, if anyone is interested in listening.

Yeah, I don't think he would've been as successful at AW as he was elsewhere. For one thing, NBC was gonna NBC, and P&G was gonna P&G. There's no way Douglas Marland would have enjoyed the kind of support there that he had at ATWT or GL. And for another, aside from its' longtime, core audience, I really do believe most of the rest of the industry and viewers had just written off AW, expecting it to be cancelled sooner or later.

Wasn't there also the rumor that Suzanne allegedly had an affair with Deidre's now-ex-husband?
If I were Dee, I wouldn't care one whit about that. As long as he was out of MY house, he could have all the cookies he wants, lol.

Maybe. You aren't the first person to bring up that idea. It seems silly though. I doubt Suzanne had anything to do with Dee/Drake's firing and they were brought back fairly quickly anyway. The show did use Maggie more back then, but even if Deidre was mad about that-get over it! It was a decade ago.

Speculation, but could it have something to do with (or exasperated by) the aftermath of Marlena & John being written out for a few years in the late 2000s? Rogers' screentime shot up in that era and I remember hearing good things about her work. Whereas Maggie barely qualified as a character from when Hall returned in the 90s until then.

I'd say the same about Susan Lucci's issues with SMG. In fact, I'd blame two people for that mess: 1) SMG's mother, who allegedly told anyone and everyone that SMG/Kendall was going to be the next Erica Kane; and 2) Christopher Goutman, who, as one of AMC's directors, allegedly encouraged SMG to say or do something in a scene with Lucci that was unscripted and without Lucci's prior knowledge or approval.
