July 31, 201114 yr Member I loved every second of the premiere. Well, minus Rex. And what the hell is the point of Shaun/Cris scenes?
July 31, 201114 yr Member Poor TSJ? Right, I don't feel a bit sorry for him, he was LEAVING and RH is anything but overrated. Overrated is TSJ's version of "Todd" I'm glad he's leaving and Roger can take his rightful place as Todd I concur. I don't get the TSJ being thrown under the bus nonsense as posted on another site. You're right, he was leaving the show anyway.

But for some reason people think it is some big cover story to cover up the actual truth. LOL the show was ending when they wrote him out, why would they have cared with the fans thught. July 31, 201114 yr Member You do realize that ended up being a hot retconned filled mess right? That's your opinion. I thought it was very good and entertaining I loved every second of the premiere. Well, minus Rex. And what the hell is the point of Shaun/Cris scenes? In writing terms simply : FILLER
July 31, 201114 yr Member That's your opinion. I thought it was very good and entertaining +1 In writing terms simply : FILLER Everyone knows when a whole lot of stuff is going on in an episode, those throw away scenes are always inserted. Edited July 31, 201114 yr by MontyB
July 31, 201114 yr Member The two most entertaining episodes in recent memory and the boards were down!!! I thought that everything OLTL has tried to be under FV and RC (satirical, suspenseful, innuendo-laden, with nods to history) actually fell into place and really worked with minimal groan-worthy moments. I was literally laughing out loud at some points. AP is actually very good at playing this sleaze and I'm beginning to think it comes a little too naturally to him. The joy of seeing Ford relegated to waitstaff. Markko (who looks ten years older with that beard... and I thought of you all when Dorian mentioned "beard" and "Langston" in the same breath  ) sticking it to Ford without a tacked on "Poor Ford " moment was very much appreciated by me. I know the propping will resume soon enough, but I was thankful for that scrap from the writers table. I didn't care for the Dorian/Ionia stuff which was so disappointing as Dorian is historically my favorite player at these big Gllamview events (as was the late, great Asa). Though she had a couple of moments that really reminded me of Carolyn Jones as Myrna on Capitol. I really like the RHTodd and John stuff and I don't see their banter as "gay" so much as The Odd Couple (though I suppose if you wanna go all Tony Randall with it...). They work really well together and it's interesting seeing Todd have a "friend". It would be even more interesting if they remained "friends" should these two characters live on in the online version instead of the more likely development that they'd establish an adversarial relationship once Todd was fully back to his old self. And of course if either of them even do the online version. LOL @Vicker Man-Blair being portrayed by an "Asian-American actress" Mia Korf! Oh Lawd, those closeups of Cristian making the sundaes with bananas and cherries, that was just straight up "We don't give a [!@#$%^&*]!" blatant. And notice that shots of Deanna were never shown, only Nate? Hmmm... Edited July 31, 201114 yr by SFK
July 31, 201114 yr Member And notice that shots of Deanna were never shown, only Nate? Hmmm... I think that had everything to do with budget. I'm guessing she not on the show anymore, so they won't have to pay her for those scenes.
July 31, 201114 yr Member +1 Everyone knows when a whole lot of stuff is going on in an episode, those throw away scenes are always inserted. Myself as a writer, when I do big events like these you need filler in between those big scenes It should always be your weakest story as filler The two most entertaining episodes in recent memory and the boards were down!!! I do think RC and FV have finally found their niche
July 31, 201114 yr Member Myself as a writer, when I do big events like these you need filler in between those big scenes It should always be your weakest story as filler except there was no story there. Cris and Shaun was purely nothing. They were just there.
July 31, 201114 yr Member AP is actually very good at playing this sleaze and I'm beginning to think it comes a little too naturally to him. I thought he was really funny as Rick on Friday. He's actually pretty entertaining. I loved him dancing in the background when the porn was playing, and jumping up in front of everyone and introducing himself, it was such a hot mess but it was great.
July 31, 201114 yr Member I think that had everything to do with budget. I'm guessing she not on the show anymore, so they won't have to pay her for those scenes. Nafessa Williams (Deanna) wasn't listed with the contract cast in the ending credits after Friday's episode. I think that was it for her. And OLTL should submit Friday's episode for the Emmys but considering their choices from the past three years... they won't
July 31, 201114 yr Administrator Loved the Thursday and Friday cliffhangers! Thursday's cliffhanger was hilarious - as was the "Hold The Diploma" scenes: "I heard you failed sex ed.....luckily for you, I aced the class." "My diploma is so huge.....it's because I have a double major." Friday's cliffhanger was classic soap. This Two Todds storyline has been excellent so far. Can't wait until Monday! I thought he was really funny as Rick on Friday. He's actually pretty entertaining. I loved him dancing in the background when the porn was playing, and jumping up in front of everyone and introducing himself, it was such a hot mess but it was great. He's pretty good at playing the light funny stuff but that's it. He can't do anything else.
July 31, 201114 yr Member I've never understood why they had a story about a fun-loving guy who blackmails people into porn. It's like casting him as Coco's pornogorapher in Fame. Why not have people who are willing to do porn? You have all kinds of characters on the show who would probably drop their drawers in a heartbeat.
July 31, 201114 yr Member Nafessa Williams (Deanna) wasn't listed with the contract cast in the ending credits after Friday's episode. I think that was it for her. I hope so!
July 31, 201114 yr Member I think the Cris and Shaun stuff is just filler and was there to juxtapose the Rama/Vimal reunion. I also think it was something to provide a transition to Cris's exit. A bridge. We would have complained if he'd just disappeared into the Martin's attic. At least I would have. I don't have a problem with him exiting (although I love the character and will miss him -- I've been missing him since Evangeline left because he really hasn't had a good story since then), but I would have screamed foul if he'd just vanished. Tried to spoiler tag the casting spoiler. Things have changed. :/ Don't hurt me. Edited July 31, 201114 yr by rhinohide
