I just deleted the post. Thanks.  I wondered why I saw a post from him today on Twitter.  I'm pretty sure it was him.

Sort of OT but I can't believe how low the follower counts are for some of these actors. I noticed that they seem particularly low for former P&G soap actors.  It strikes me as somewhat sad that their follower counts are so low, for all the fans they used to have.

I'm not familiar with Sally Spencer (may she R.I.P.) but it's weird that only one soap blog has published this story while there are a bunch of AW Twitter pages and soap blogs that have yet to put out anything. I guess this speaks to the lack of regard to which daytime soaps are now held.

It's fascinating to me.

Perhaps it has to do with the fact that many former soap actors don't have the blue check mark next to their name?  Which means technically, they are not tweeting from verified accounts?  And verification criteria seems to have nothing to do with follower counts, some accounts that are verified have far less than 10,000 followers.

It's a shame that P&G soaps didn't engage in much social media while they were still on the air.  Twitter was launched in 2006 while ATWT and GL were still on the air.  Perhaps if both shows had even had official accounts while on air, it might have at least given their actors a better post soap launching pad once these shows were cancelled (and PGN/P&G knew that these shows were going to be cancelled) by connecting fans to these actors to support future projects and engage with them.

It's just a thought, especially since quite a few actors have struggled in the aftermath of these shows' cancellations.

I know Bryce is considered one of the fortunate ones since he was already doing prime time television and movies while doing soap work.

Most of the cast of the Brady Bunch are verified and I'm not sure how high-profile any of them are.

Dusty's piercing blue eyes were one of the aspects that kept young girl me tuned in.

Someone needs to ask Martha if she has any classic episodes that she can upload to YouTube, preferably one that hasn't been uploaded before, a la Patricia Bruder.

Has anyone tried to petition Procter & Gamble/PGP for permission to start/run an official As The World Turns Twitter page?  Maybe a photo like this is already on the Daytime Emmy Twitter page but I feel like photos and video clips should be accessible in one dedicated space for the show.

Also, as much as I appreciate the various YouTube channels, there should be a dedicated As The World Turns channel where the best quality clips (and perhaps episodes too) can be culled and placed there.  I don't know who runs the As The World Turns-Topic channel but it looks disheveled, disorganized and piece-meal.  I only mention this because if there were one dedicated, comprehensive channel, viewers/fans would flock there and we could truly see just how many views ATWT videos are getting-- who knows, it may get P&G's attention if they saw a good number of views per month.  Not to bring back the show but to even sell/stream more classic ATWT because they'd see that there was actual interest.  I guess that everyone (fans, actors, etc.) wants to operate their own separate YouTube channels though.

It's so crazy to realize that episodes that aired in 2001 are now just as far away from ATWT's cancellation than today in 2019. I can't believe ATWT has been off the air for almost 9 years now. Time really flies the older you get.

    • Yes, they did.  I still have them.  I think there were three.  AMC and GH as well.
    • Ah okay, thats what I thought. I was hoping I missed the announcement somewhere. Thanks for the clarification.
    • A new day in Salem… and a new day for Days.  I like the way everybody found out and absorbed the news about John’s death, and how they all eventually found their way to Marlena’s to offer their condolences. I’m not particularly sure why they waited until the next day to tell everybody but I don’t really mind it.  We finally got Roman’s perspective! His scenes with Kayla were one of the best parts of today. I’m glad that Roman is thankful for everything that John did for his kids. I agree with posters who said that he should’ve had a scene like this with John, but I’m happy we got this at least.  Julie was used very well today too. She’s definitely the best person for Marlena to have scenes with at the moment. Hopefully, Julie continues to be there for her. And yes, I totally agree with Marlena and Belle sending EJ away when he came to the apartment. I’m curious to see what’s going to happen to his and Belle’s relationship in the aftermath of all this. And, while I enjoyed most of Brady and Kristen’s scenes, I still think the ship has sailed for them. Hopefully, the aftermath of John’s death causes Brady to finally end this thing with her once and for all.  And, I see a lot of people were wearing some kind of shade of purple today.

    • Wow, I love that current and former actors are participating in this. I barely recognize Staci Greason! She looks fine, just very different. But I will be happy to hear anecdotes from her. I shipped RoJohn and Isabella hard back in the day, and I sobbed buckets in my dorm room at college when Izzy B passed. Honestly, I'm interested in everyone's stories. Drake seemed like he was well loved among the cast.
    • When she first appeared, I was sure she was setting Tyrell up for a prank. She was too much of a manic pixie dream girl- I wasn't surprised Tyrell also became suspicious. Now I'm not so sure. If Jessica genuinely likes Tyrell, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have started her out as a bully, then we see her gradually catch feelings for Tyrell.  The McBrides are definitely the "C" family of BTG. They always get last priority. There have been a few times where the Doug/Vanessa/Joey characters reference off screen conversations which seem too important to not show us. Like when Doug thanked Joey for giving him extra time to pay off the loan. When did that happen? Or when we abruptly moved from Vanessa/Joey at Uptown to Vanessa/Doug in the hotel room. The McBrides don't even have their own set - even though Vanessa is a realtor. It's a shame because I am a fan of the characters and actors.

I am also adjusting to KR as Ted but I feel that AM and MJ had way more chemistry as father and daughter than AM and KR. We saw Eva dream of having a real relationship with MJ's version of Ted for months so it's a bit of a bummer not to have that payoff with the original actor except for those scenes in MJ's last episode.  Something I noticed about Eva today is how she takes genuine delight in being a schemer. As badly as she wants to be a Richardson, she still has so much of her mom in her. It was jarring seeing her earnestly promise to steer clear of Leslie in her scene with Ted, then immediately switch attitudes when her mom showed up.  I'm very surprised with how quickly the accident story has been moving along. I was sure that it would be months if not years before people figured out it was Leslie on the motorcycle, not to mention responsible for the potassium overdose. I'm looking forward to seeing how MVJ and Guza avoid writing Leslie into a corner.  Finally, I have been loving the Articulettes story. Bonita Brisker was just the right amount of OTT - remember Sharon is supposed to be even more angry than Tracy is. If Sharon didn't come in swinging, people would say she fell flat. The way Sharon and Tracy describe the breakup is so Supremes-meet-Original Recipe Destiny's Child. I get the sense that MVJ is re-writing the Return to Love Tour as a roman a clef, and I love it. I'm looking forward to finding out what the secret they share is. If Dante Green is as shady as Berry Gordy was, it's something dark. If/when they go through with the reunion, I expect Dante to show up and claim to own the Articulettes trademark in a Lou Pearlman-esque twist.
    • Other than hanging out with Liz, all of Lucky's stories have been stalled out or dropped; the relationship with his son; his wanderlust. He hasn't been involved in any of the action/adventure or con artist stuff. I don't think he's even had a scene with Sidwell since the latter came to town. He's a real after thought. I doubt he's long for the show.
