As I see it, Bernie Sanders is one who is delighted to be in this particular spotlight after being dismissed and ignored for so long.  He's been jonesing for a socialist revolution forever; and now, with his followers and the polls at his side, he sees himself as being closer than ever toward making that revolution happen.

Of course, even if, by some miracle, he were to WIN the election, he'll learn the hard way that revolutions don't come without a price.

This is what Bernie Sanders is and this is what we will be spending now to November doing...people who think the (second) most important election of our lifetime needs to be spent on smugging to voters about how communist dictatorships are awesome and America is the real enemy. What happened to all those Joe Rogan voters who are supposed to be so important? Do they love Castro too?

Meanwhile, the cultists are using Obama clips to defend Bernie's views on Castro...but don't they hate Obama? Don't they say he was a war criminal and a fraud?

They are no better than Trump supporters, and Bernie is basically a communist Trump.

What a choice.

The price of Bernie's programs aren't that worrisome to me. He could accomplish some of his policies by reversing the tax break the rich just received and by cutting our insane defense budget.

In any case, it wouldn't be an issue because first he has to actually get something passed. Good luck with that. As we've said before, whoever gets in will be busy just trying to reverse some of the Damage 45 has done. He's not going to pass any of these massive plans, imo.

I understand that some people can never vote for Bernie, but I will if it means getting Trump out. At the very least we need to stop Trump from getting further entrenched and appointing more judges. Anyhow, I think it's possible Biden will make a comeback.

I'm DC and we're completely killing ourselves.  Friends of mine got angry when I said if Berns is the nominee I'll hold my nose and vote for him just because of the Supreme Court.  I'm gay but I'm not "Left" enough basically.  I just said - I understand - the younger generation thinks they're going to get free college, and bank loans will be taken away - but it's never going to happen.  I'm a Democrat, not a Socialist.  They're almost as crazy as the far Right.  I'll pay taxes for Social Security, and Healthcare and K-12 local schools but I"m not paying for someone else's higher education.  I paid for my own.  I figured it out.  I'm not so far Left as to be Socialist.

I had friends coming after me after I went after the Trumpers.  They said I was no better than the 45ers because I just said I would hold my nose and vote for Bernie if I had to - but it's not who I want but I would do it because of the Supreme Court.  They went rabid on me.  Made me very sad because I wondered, are we really that crazy, the way Republicans say we are?  I don't think so but why attack me for trying to talk about it and say I don't want Bernie.  ALOT of the Bernie people are CRAZY.

Political discourse is in a coma (I can't bring myself to say it's dead) right now.  How we got here I'm not sure. At the same time I admit I'm guilty on some level, since I just cannot stand to discuss issues with most Republicans at this point. It's much easier to differ and discuss with my fellow Democrats, but you can see where some people are having a hard time even doing that.

As for free college, that is not going to happen in the U.S. any time soon.  I do think we should discharge people's loans about the time they are on Social Security. I would even say there should come a point where people can discharge private (not government) loans in bankruptcy, before we end up with another financial crisis, but there are so many issues I see as more important (healthcare) and all of them are out of reach with the Senate we have.

That thought occurred to me as well. It does seem paranoid, but at this point anything seems possible. He has to know he can't win.

I have to admit I have no real idea what Steyer's goal is. He was all about impeachment but now that Donald's impeached he seems to be flailing.

Trump and Bernie use the same tactics. MAGA and the right feed aggrieved, angry men a non-stop diet of "civil war." Bernie and the hard left sells "revolution."

I think when you have that much money, it can become easier to become some sort of godlike figure in your own mind. I think Steyer assumed he got what he wanted with impeachment so it was just the first part of his plan. If his Nevada results are any indication, the polling doesn't match up to the Election Day tally.

It's a mix of cultism and shilling for attention/cash with both groups. You can always tell who the biggest phonies are as they will jump to Bernie without hesitation and are extremely aggressive about it. One man on Twitter who claimed to be a huge Warren support recently went full Bernie bro to the point of taunting others for having "Bernie Derangement Syndrome" (eventually he deleted it). The phoniness is just another reason I don't trust his supporters. They are selfish and fickle and disturbed and I don't think they will be there when we need them, when the battle really starts.

    • I don't think they had any idea who he was this time last year. I think they were keeping their options very open. Same with totally dropping the Trina romance that was spoiled for him in the mags once FV clearly took a shine to him. Frank's priorities are bright and blazing in one color. I do think Gio and Emma seem to have worked out given that she is very dry and sarcastic and he is like a hot golden retriever, but I'd still play the field or explore quads with both with very different people - Emma with a scheming young man (of color), Gio with possibly Trina or someone else, or even a boy. Then maybe put them back together, who knows. But of course none that will happen.

    • He definitely got lost in the shuffle last year. First, they were implying that he was Drew’s son, then he was nothing more than just Violet’s bff

And then they changed him to being Dante and Brook Lynn’s son, which was clunky at first but I’m enjoying the storyline now.
    • GM is adorable, charming and fun onscreen despite months of nothing to do until recently, and has a bodacious bod. I'm not cosigning the show or this story - I haven't watched a full episode in over a month - but I think we're all taking the small victories in 2025 at this point. I'm open to testing this theory!
    • I think Jason might've posted some numbers for the syndication a while ago and the numbers for Falcon Crest was horrible. Like 1.5 rating or something, which was terrible.    ETA: it was actually Paul Raven:   New to syndication 60 min Fall Guy 67 markets 3.1/8 Falcon Crest 110 markets 1.1/5 To get into the top 40, you needed a 4.6/9 rating for reference - and Falcon Crest managed to get into a lot of markets to begin with. In the fall of 1985 Dynasty, Dallas and Knots were syndicated (show / rating / share / coverage % / markets): Dallas 3.4 10 51.7 92 Dynasty 3.4 10 48.7 47  Knots Landing 3.3 10 12.5 20  So, Knots as an example trippled Falcon Crest's rating with 20 markets - I'm sure those were major ones but it just goes to show you how much Falcon Crest bombed in syndication.
    • It's not bad but the stories move too slow. It's the same problem when Dan O'Connor was CO-HW with Van Etten, they have a million stories and they all drag on endlessly with no resolution. I'd argue the majority of the stories airing now are good but you get sick of waiting months for something to happen.
    • Thanks. I must have missed that period entirely for Lifetime.
    • Thanks. I know Marland did that type of thing sometimes but it's less likely with these characters. I don't even remember Alex ever mentioning him.
