AMC - Wednesday

WOW - that opening was so beautiful, sad, touching, warming, yet sad! The entire cast was there to remember Simone and Erin - even Myrtle and Palmer. I loved how they used Natalie Merchant's "Thank You" song throughout the entire thing! One of my favorite openings EVER! Wow.

This must be Brooke's last day :( At least she gets to speak!

LOL at Colby's expression to the Trucker Party. It is nice to see Adam actually get into it this year. Also great is seeing more of Stuart - and I'm loving his talks with JR.

I loved how Sean left Erica a present, signed J. - trying to get Erica and Jack back together.

I really enjoyed the Amanda/Jonathan scenes - it is so nice seeing Chrishell get good, emotional material again. I'm back to liking these two as a couple again.

Wonderful little speech by Ryan at the funeral reception. Also, I loved his scene with Erica - Man I'm loving all the Mona talk. And superfluous Livia/Jack scenes!! (I mean that in a positive way :) ) Seriously, AMC has a whole new feel to it this month. It is GREAT.

Nothing else matters today with the horrible exit of Julia Barr/Brooke. At least she got to speak? Are you kidding me? I'm supposed to be grateful?

I've found the past couple of weeks to be much better but today was a total snooze for me, and it seemed quite disjointed. And the whole thing with Barr is just beyond belief. I will never forgive TPTB for this. I can't think of any worse move made by TPTB of any soap ever.

Julia had no idea it was her last day. The cast had no idea it was her last day. She got nothing. After 30 years, absolutely nothing, not even a piece of expired cake (because that's all AMC could afford I'm sure).

They had Julia for several more weeks under contract. They could have done something, they were not pressed for time. They chose not to because she had the guts to say what this was since 2003: an embarassment which used to be a television icon.

And McTavish's words in SOD just fuel the flames even more:

"We're sorry she did not feel she could stay with us on recurring". She should never have been offered anything other than a contract!

"Her last day will be whenever her contract is up" Shouldn't you know when that is Megan? Do you care? She should have aired through the end of Janaury.

And I have no doubt that had she accepted recurring they would never have used her. Just like with Jill Larson. Both women were effectively fired no matter what choice they had made.

I wrote my thing about Brooke in the beginning. After watching the full episode, I totally agree with you. It was sad, pathetic, and such a slap in the face to Julia and the fans to make THIS her last day. A 30 year veteran to the show. It's sickening I agree - and even with Jill - we haven't seen her since she went to recurring. If we don't see her at Christmas I'll be upset.

But with that, I really didn't think today was a snoozefest at all - it was a GREAT episode IMO. Unfortunately this had to be Julia's last day which sucks. She had a horrible exit - well no exit at all really.

I'm just going to hold out that Julia will be back before we know it....and this day won't really matter in the long run. I mean we barely get her anyway - maybe in 2007 she'll come back at some point and it'll be like it has been the last 3 years...but maybe this time she'll have story? Hopefully Julia and ABCD didn't leave on bad terms.

The funeral was very well done. I loved Tad's eulogy about Simone because it was what Tad/Simone were all about...humor and fun

I LOVED Livia's talk with both Jack and Erica telling them that they both don't want this divorce, noone else wants it , and its all about 2 stubborn people who don't want to bend. GO LIVIA  I loved the talk between J&E too. I felt their awkwardness but at the same time felt the love. I loved it when Jack said he was proud of Kendall and Bianca's strength and that they got it from Erica and she told him that Sean has inherited many of Jack's good qualities like his sensitivity and caring. I love my Jackson and Erica :D:wub: Loved the present at the end too

I HATED that Miranda was used now to prop St. Babe. Give me a break already <_<

Good Jonathan/Amanda scenes too. All in all I enjoyed almost the entire episode except the way poor Brooke ended her days on AMC

I agree it was completely tasteless but then that is what I have come to expect from this network regarding how it treats its vets that helped build these shows.

As for today it was a snoozefest. Then the Babe propping started with Stuart and Jr and they threw in Bianca actually encouraging Miranda to hug Babe and I was out of there. The trucker party was the final straw and I could'nt tune back in. The best part was the song at the beginning. I never thought I would long for the days of Mateo and Hayley's poisoned tattoo. :(

WOW that was a quick funeral, wrapped up before the opening credits, and they couldn't even bother to have Simone's dad there?

Love the Tad & Zach scenes, but Tad needs to quit acting like an ass, considering that Zach saved his ass for killing Madden.

They chose not to because she had the guts to say what this was since 2003: an embarassment which used to be a television icon.

It bugs me the way people go on and on about that. I read that very same interview and there were no italics or underlinings or bold text to indicate that Julia had put an emphasis on "once" (which is the word she used, not "used to be") and I think people really just got carried away with it. If it was a television interview and it was obvious that she meant it in a negative way, well then I'd applaud her, but I'm sure she doesn't want people to take her words and twist them around.

LOL - oh please! You have to be kidding....everything going on right now is/was better than that! lol - guess everyone has a different opinion on things.

I hate funerals in real life and I hate them even more on shows that are supposed to be helping me escape real life. This one was pretty well done, but I'm glad it was over fast.

I love seeing Stewart. He always makes my day. Babe continues to break her promise about staying away from Josh. I hope Colby busts her. I didn't mind the scene where Miranda hugged Babe. Bianca had the right look on her face (fear, hesitation), imo. It seemed to me that she didn't really want Miranda around Babe, but she didn't want to discourage Miranda from being a loving child. Maybe I'm reading too much into it and I agree that it's not realistic, but it didn't make me mad either.

I think the show has been much better this past month too. I hope the ratings agree.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I thought it was the 2nd good episode in a row.

I loved the Natalie Merchant song at the beginning. I liked how they made it a double funeral so we didn't have to suffer through a separate one for boring Erin. :P ITA that Simone's father should have been there, but given that Simone really didn't have a story the past 2 years, I didn't mind it so much.

This year's Trucker Party only lasted 1 day, which seems like the right amount of time for me. I didn't mind it as much as last year when it dragged out for a week. Colby's expression was priceless!

Speaking of facial expressions, the disgusted look on Bianca's face when Miranda hugged Babe gives me hope that someday soon she'll recall everything her former BFF put her through. I loved how uncomfortable Bianca was.

At first, I thought Dixie was truly propping Babe, but then it turned out she's just buttering her up for confirmation about Krystal's pregnancy (big sigh of relief here). I hope we get more scenes of Dixie being deceitful to both Babe and Krystal.

Livia's advice to both Jack & Erica was classic AMC. I'm glad somebody behind the scenes is starting to fix things!

JR/Stuart had a great conversation about forgiveness and acceptance. I just wish Marian had been on.

I still don't care for Jonathan, but I felt really bad for Amanda today.

Ryan's speech was almost moving to me, but when he mentioned Erin's passion I had to stifle a laugh. That character was so dull, she never showed passion for anything.

I also found the Tad/Zach scenes unintentionally funny. To paraphrase Zach's cryptic dialogue, "I'm going to hire you to investigate my past but I'm not going to tell you the most crucial information." Why not?

Well pretty good episode, I liked the ending. It sucks it was Julia Barr's last day and they failed to mention a goodbye anywhere. How ignorant of AMC to do that. I'm glad Krystal truck stop party is over, Josh got the DNA needed to see if Ryan is really Emma's father, I loved those Amanda and Jonathan scenes. Wow! They need to be together. The ending was good, looks like Dixie wants to get the truth out of Babe.

Someone has got to be tinkering behind the scenes. That's all I can say.

Hey - I smell a positive comment out of that! :P lol - but seriously, even you can see this new feel of the show. It's great.

Yeah, well... BITE ME!

Yeah, that's it! BITE ME! I don't do p-p-p-positive comments when McTavish is at the helm. It's a hazard to my health. Seriously. It would cause me to swallow my tongue!

I cried during that quick but touching service.

I need some help here. I totally missed Brooke. Where was she. I really wanted to see today because it was Julia's last day, and now I missed her, not once but twice. Please some one tell me so that I can catch it on Soapnet this weekend.
