This is a re-write of an interview done by SID with Jean Passanate, from a poster at SOC

Head Writer for ATWT, Jean Passanante, recently conducted an interview for CBS Soaps in Depth. In it she stated that it's very hard to learn complexities the family tree and history of the show. And that the Ice Storm was intentially written for October and not for November Sweeps because she felt like they would have strong S/Ls for November Sweeps as well. In addition, she feels like it's not necessary to have "Big Stories" for Sweeps because she feels that no matter what people are tuning in regardless. She couldn't address Jade being Rose's daughter earlier because Martha was on maternity leave. She also addresses the fact that she doesn't feel like she has missed any opportunities on the show by not writing all of the stories that she wished that she can tell. She says that since Goutman and her have all these brilliant ideas that they feel like they haven't missed anything and don't have any regrets at all.

Jade being Lily's daughter after all was a sudden decision. It had nothing to do with Martha's pregnancy since Jade has been there far too long.

Passanante is getting on my last nerve. Her first year on the show was great, but everything since then has been totally downhill.

Why is she talking about shít that already happened?

I want at LEAST some vague glimmer of hope in the tunnel of darkness that is ATWT these days.

CLEARLY she's not watching the show.

She comes off as totally pompous and arrogant.

The woman is obviously on some kind of drugs, which would be fine and all if it weren't messing up things on ATWT.

Yeah, ATWT does have a really complex history, but really...that's not an excuse for not using the history of the show. It's not that hard to know a family tree, especially since she's been on the show for a few years and should know it by now. The big problem w/ this show is that everything only revolves around a handful of characters.

My storyline for December solution to this problem ,in retaliation to Dusty trying to kill him Craig sets a bomb into Dusty's car totally unaware that Loosy(I like your name for her) and Johnny are going to be in it, and ka boom, the car goes up in flames.

Then again that sounds to much like what GH would do, I think anyway, don't watch it just read some of the comments.

As for Jean P. this artice made me sick, and really scares me as to what is to come seeing as her and Chris think everything is great and that we are loving it.

I know, it's got me really worried that Goutman likes everything that Passanante's doing. And right now, I see it getting worse before it gets better, unfortunately.

Is the woman serious? What brilliant ideas? I haven't seen one yet! She keeps repeating/recycling every story. I hate the way she has written Emily and Dusty. She has totally ruined them. Emily was a trouble maker/slut who we felt sorry for when Douglas Marland wrote her. Now she is a cold blooded/heartless woman who doesnt care for her children under Jean's pen. Dusty use to be the guy next door. The guy that you wanted to take to mom when written by Douglas Marland. Now he is a thug and has shot another human being(Hmmmmmm....reminds me of Emily ). Both should be in prison for a very long time. If Jean is going to write them this way I would rather them be off the canvas.

The only storyline that was *brilliant* like she said was Luke's story. Which she has now dropped to pimp Jade and other worthless characters(Katie, Mike, Simon).

I watched maybe two shows the whole of November. And I felt like I was watching the same recycled storylines.

Seriously, when ATWT begins to feel as slow as PASSIONS, you know there's a problem.

And I am not looking forward to Katie/NuMan storyline in the works! More Katie and a recasting of a character which wasnt very popular. And casting a person who cant act!
