OK, impressions after FIRST and ONLY listen: This will take a couple more spins. I really liked CANCELLED!, Wi$h Li$t, and TLOAS (especially the first), but I will go ahead and say it: My expectations were not met OR surpassed. Why bring in pop superproducers Max Martin and Shellback for what is basically an Antonoff midtempo album? Where are the BIG choruses, the bridges, the catchy stuff? Once I listen a few more times, and get used to the sound, I would not be surprised if my opinion changed. But as a FIRST listen? Kinda disappointed...

Just did another rewatch of KNOTS LANDING Season 14 DAWSON'S CREEK Season 5 (first time - Mitch!!)

Almost done with Season 3. I've seen a few episodes here and there from this season probably 18, 19 years ago, so I only have vague memories. Up to the fantastic "Memoria" with that so climactic and oh-so-soapy confrontation between Lex and Lionel regarding Julian, his mother, and why Lionel never loved him. The episode features a STUNNING haunting piano theme throughout for the Lex scenes. And, of course, Clark telling Martha he wishes his biological mother met her so she'd know what a great mom he has. Bawled my eyes out.

SMALLVILLE Season 3.

Up to episode 8 and what a stunning ride it's been so far. The organ donor storyline with the teen passing away after an overdose and his parents grappling with accepting it is just one of the many, many highlights. The honor walk was an incredibly heartwrenching ending scene. The acting is spectacular. Characters and histories unravelling in ways that feel so organic and interesting. Medical storylines that are just as captivating as the personal stories. What a triumph! Hope this continues into season 2. You can say that again! I can understand two years for a fantasy/sci-fi show heavy on SFX, but four, five years? ABSOLUTELY NOT. It's time for streaming to start holding itself to a specific timeline.

Niiiiiice! I even love the pics! I CANNOT WAIT for COADF Part 2 -- I have the feeling it's going to be fantastic! Cannot come soon enough.

DEXTER Season 4

Super excited about that! Can't wait to hear the first single, I hope it comes soon. And very happy the rollout isn't 6 months long, I hate that. 2 months is long enough lol

In the podcast she said she flew to Sweden between tour dates to record... which, of course, is Max Martin Central. It all looks like it points right there. And I am VERY READY for it.

I wouldn't mind that at all! The way she releases a new album every 3 months, she'd gonna run these producers ragged! (Perhaps Aaron Dessner does apply as her working with someone "newer" though).

I'm very excited too -- especially since she's hinting she worked with Max Martin and Shellback on this. I had enough of the folksy era - THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT was just about as much as I could take in that direction I want fun, pop, dancey, and catchy! Please!

BETTER CALL SAUL Season 6.

Goodbye, Hulu! Hello, D'Hulu+! I much prefer the Hulu design, so I will be sad to see it go. Even with Hulu being a tab in Disney+, I still use their separate app. Offering a separate Hulu subscription doesn't necessarily confuse or surprise me. It's perhaps a little sloppy, but they already offer separate subscriptions and packages. If you don't want Hulu, it'll probably be a locked tab in the Disney app.

I really do hope the widespread criticism did lead to this decision, no matter what the PR fluff tries to say. It's just so sudden and bizarre. I hope they know they messed up. Some of MPK's work was so good. How did we end up with this?

THE GILDED AGE Season 1. Quite addictive and fun.

It's finally finding its way on streaming/online! That's great! I have always wanted to watch the early years properly - and maybe the years I did see too lol There's no denying it is a classic, and I think it would've kept going if newer, more quality soaps hadn't come along, changing the game and taking the audience. At some point in its run, it gave into its melodramatic style and became too rigid in its simple soap opera execution. They were whole stories Foskolos copied (like the Krystle/Rita storyline), presumably having run out of ideas after over a decade of a daily serial lol I enjoyed it for what it was. Y&R and B&B were huge, ahem, inspirations for him. He tried to modernize it when competition from other soaps beat him but it was too late. That being said, the final episode was nothing short of brilliant and proved to me Foskolos never lost grip of his creation, even if the execution sometimes faltered.

ANDOR Season 2 BEVERLY HILLS, 90210 Season 7

I recommend! The Empire stuff in the show is particularly fascinating. You should check it out!

Just finished binging FOUNDATION Seasons 1 and 2. Good, fun, addictive sci fi. On to OUTER BANKS Season 2.

I did, thank you! You were right about Virginia - she was a non-entity. But I particularly liked how they finally resolved the James/Georgina story, and the finale was great. I don't remember The Swedish Tiger, but I've been wanting to do a rewatch, so now I'm even more tempted lol
