  1. I believe Pamela Long was last credited December 1990. Nancy Curlee took over January 1991.
  2. Y&R Dina Abbott Mergeron abandoned her family, lived a jet-set life, remarried a wealthy man, became widowed, inherited late husband's business that rivaled her ex-husband's business. Dina's introduction at the Abbott house where's she's dressed in a black suit with matching hat and veil was similar to Alexis's introduction at the courthouse where she's dressed in a black and white suit with matching hat and veil.
  3. Hahaha. 90% of the show this summer was hot garbage.
  4. Primetime soaps tanked. Sitcoms made a comeback. Rookie breakout The Cosby Show became the sophomore slaughterer. Rookie that shocked the world Murder, She Wrote became the sophomore surprise. Simon & Simon, The A-Team, and Magnum, P.I. were old and busted. Miami Vice was the new hotness.
  5. No to Kat/Jacob. Stealing your cousin's man when there's no rivalry is not cool. Kat/Eva are the sisters fighting over a guy rivalry I want.
  6. The Google generation that binge watches.
  7. From what I know, Andrea Evans was not well-received as Patty. It was her 1985-1990 One Life to Live run that made her a soap superstar.
  8. Honestly no, and that's going all the way back to the 1980s, starting with Andrea Evans. ABC big three acting style is a different beast than Y&R acting style. I remember an early 1990s interview with PB where he even said as much. At the height of MAB and her love of ABC leftovers (IIRC she brought on Tristan Rogers, Genie Francis, Debbi Morgan, Darnell Williams), I really thought she would try to get Susan Lucci as a recast Julia Newman but thankfully that didn't happen.
  9. I rushed home from school for the Acapulco episodes. It was a turning point in Roger/Holly relationship for them to confront their past. MZ should have gotten a Lead Actor nomination for those episodes. Another key moment in Roger/Holly relationship is when Roger showed up at Holly's house and admitted that he still loved her. I think that was in late 1991 or early 1992, I can't for the life of me remember the exact time.
  10. Then again, Andre was comforting and supporting Dani in her time of need 🥰
  11. When Kat visited Joey, I was so scared for her. Hahaha, dead 🤣
  12. Maybe he should take his talents to BtG.
  13. @Speed Racer Nadine as a prototype for Beyond the Gates Vanessa McBride, I could see that.
  14. Do not put that out there in the universe.
  15. It was wrong to root for Roger/Holly because of their past yet it was so right to root them. There were always hints of something brewing between them. MG herself said that she and MZ connected right away as actors and clearly the writers and the audience saw that connection as well. Roger/Holly were once described as the anti-supercouple and that description fits them perfectly. I don't know if this was posted here before but SOD had Roger/Holly as Most Intriguing Couple in the Best of 1989 issue.
  16. Some names I'm throwing out there: Nathan Purdee, Darnell Williams

It was a sign of the times that escapism was on the way out. Television viewers sought comfort and warmth because the world around us was changing so much.
  18. @bongobong Peak Bill Bell B&B was 1989 Sally Spectra arrival to 1993 Brooke takes over Forrester.
  19. Y&R peak eras to me were 1984 through first half of 1986, 1990 through first half of 1994, second half of 1997 through 1998. Second half of 1986 through 1989 Cricket ate the show. Second half of 1994 through first half of 1997 Y&R got off-track due to Nick/Sharon eating the show and a storyline lull. 1998 Bill Bell stepped down and we know the rest.
  20. @alwaysAMC You're getting close to Annie overdose in Fall 1997. That was one of the episodes on Cynthia Watros Emmy reel.
  21. Seasons 8 and 9 were the off the rails plus budget mode era. They were not necessary and I feel they only happened because CBS was in their third place primetime mess era. Season 8 was a chore to get through. Season 9 had a darkness and sadness surrounding it and it was painful to get through. Jane Wyman was not looking healthy during the final two seasons but I think budget mode also played a part in her episodes being cut during the final season. The final four episodes felt like they were refilmed in order to wrap up the storylines.
  22. Hahaha, yes, I totally remember that! I don't think Nikki was referred to as "grandma" until MTS became a grandmother IRL.
