  1. ICAM! Seriously, who gaf whether their man or woman is for stuff like "Medicare4All"? God willing, if he or she wins the election, they'll be too busy cleaning up the current administration's messes to implement even a tenth of their plans for this country. So does any of that stuff really matter? People still don't understand that this is not "politics as usual" or that you can't always get you want. This is war, ladies and gentlemen. We are battling Trump and the GOP for the heart and soul of our republic; and right now, we are losing. And from what I can gather, there are no guarantees that China will hold to their end OR that we'll be able to hold them to it. (And why should the Chinese hold to anything, when it's clear from Reich's accounting alone that they have us over a proverbial barrel?) Mr. Art of the Deal needs to read his own damn book. That is, if he CAN read.
  2. In a way, ultra-progressives' all-or-nothing-at-all approach to politics (and everything else) is more destructive than anything the current administration has done and will do. At a time when the entire Democratic party needs to rally, they're threatening to take their ball and jacks home, thereby ensuring Trump's reelection -- which they're okay with, because 1) they see compromise as the work of the devil and 2) they have the insane belief that government has to be burned to the ground and then rebuilt. I was okay with letting the House sit on the articles of impeachment indefinitely. If only because it drove the GOP and the Republican senators nuts. But, when Pelosi and the others caved into McConnell's demands without so much as a promise to call witnesses...? I'm done.
  3. At this point, I'll support a blanket laced with smallpox if it can defeat Trump.
  4. A helicopter. Because, that's what one needs to travel from CT to Brooklyn.
  5. For once, I'm glad ABC showed restraint.
  6. And so many out there don't want Biden to be the nominee because, as one Iowa voter just put it on NPR, "He just looks so tired." Too many people just aren't getting it. WE HAVE TO GET RID OF TRUMP. But they'd rather sit home and accept another four (or more) years of Trump, which will -- mark my words -- kill the republic, because they can't get the candidate they want. Sigh. Anyways. Here's more about Pelosi and her seven appointed impeachment managers going through the motions of what will end up being a complete and utter waste of time: https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-impeachment-live-updates/2020/01/15/cfde52b6-3784-11ea-bb7b-265f4554af6d_story.html
  7. The relationship might be over...but the stench will never go away.

Well, I must admit, she presented a very powerful argument. I'm just surprised Fox News allowed her to be that way, since they tend to neuter any liberal or left-leaning voices on their network.
  9. Looking at Susan Lucci, it's pretty clear (at least, to me) that Agnes Nixon never saw Roya Megnot or Ava as anything more than a less polished version of Erica.

Wait, there once was a Fox News anchor who was African-American, female AND a Democrat? Pics, @Chris B, or it didn't happen! Just from how you're describing Eboni, I have a feeling Meghan would cross the line with her (or a co-anchor LIKE her) and drop the "n-word" along with any remaining pretense of being unentitled.
  11. ICYMI: Cory Booker has suspended his presidential campaign; and as this article suggests, there is now virtually no chance of a POC becoming the Democratic nominee. https://www.yahoo.com/news/how-race-hurt-cory-booker-and-the-rest-of-2020-s-historically-diverse-field-224500255.html Of course, as I've suggested before, I never believed any candidate of color, male or female, had the right coalition of voters to defeat Donald Trump (and yes, I have come to believe that that, and not anything else, is what matters now -- sorry, @DRW50). I stand firm on my belief that I will never see another POC elected president in my lifetime -- the fit hit the shan under Obama and especially Trump, so voters will fall back on what they know -- and in a way, I'm okay with that. Witnessing the abuse the Obamas continue to suffer from many in this country truly makes me not want to subject any other persons of color to it anytime soon.
  12. I'm amazed CBS or P&G allowed that promo to air with the error intact. Just shows to go that both parties had checked out of soaps (or, at least, out of ATWT) long before they finally pulled the proverbial trigger.
  13. Thank God!
  14. I don't blame them for erasing Andy's existence from the show, lol.
  15. I'm calling B.S. on that. Fox canceled it, because it wasn't what anybody had expected, or was hoping for, so they fled. End of story.
  16. That's right! In fact, I don't believe Erica appeared for the first time until episode five. (Remember, Susan Lucci herself said she was only supposed to be on every other Tuesday.)
  17. Iran struck at two of our military bases and "all is well"? Well, if you say so, Mr. President! RME.
  18. IOW, if and when we do go to war with Iran, we'll have to fall back on the chef to save us. Just like that movie with Steven Seagal.
  19. So. Much. WINNING.
  20. In retrospect, it was apparent, especially in the latter part of his OLTL run, when everything -- the lighting, the sets, the hair and wardrobe, the makeup, everything -- was OTT and overblown. I remember when she was introduced during the "Reva helps illegal immigrants" story (which was ahead of its' time when you think about it today) as Claire Labine's token, poor-but-proud, Hispanic character; similar to Ana-Alicia's character on RYAN'S HOPE, but perhaps more naive. Then, after Lloyd Gold had succeeded Labine as HW, Catalina transformed into this scheming b***h who'd even lost her accent seemingly overnight. Kinda says something about what living in America does to immigrants seeking a better life, doesn't it?
  21. I really, REALLY want to know Pat Falken Smith's original plans for the IP, lol.
  22. Sigh. If #MeToo is a witch hunt, as Terry Gilliam insists, then I hope he's the next witch to be burned (metaphorically, of course, I'm not actually advocating literally burning someone to death, no matter how repulsive that individual might be). Especially if he believes he can call himself a "black lesbian in transition" (even in jest) and get away with it. https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/features/terry-gilliam-interview-harvey-weinstein-victims-metoo-race-a9269136.html
  23. I could understand GH broadening its' focus beyond the hospital; after all, there are only so many stories you can tell about someone who's sick, or about which doctor is screwing which nurse. To me, where GH goes wrong is thinking things like mobsters, spies and supervillains absolutely belong in the same world as doctors, nurses, orderlies, patients and everyday people who live in and around the community.
  24. If Bernie ends up as the nominee, of course, I will vote for him, because, like hell am I gonna stay home again, or vote third party, or vote for Trump. But, when Bernie loses the election -- and trust and believe, he WILL lose the election if he ends up being the nominee -- I am gonna give the biggest side-eye and "I TOLD you so" ever to him and his followers. Did we even start, lol? (But seriously. Was I so busy hate-watching Hallmark Christmas movies last year that I didn't notice Amy Klobuchar becoming an actual contender? I'm so "New number, who dis" with her right now.) For once, I'm glad to be forty and hypertensive. Yep. Followed by the gay and transgendered soldiers.
