  1. There are things that occur IRL that don't necessarily lend themselves to believable or exciting drama. And if you don't believe me, just ask any GH viewer out there what they think about Liz Webber's eye mites.
  2. There's a part of me that likes to think Reva returned to Tulsa (y'know, after Josh's sudden demise) and reconnected with long-lost friends and family members...and maybe a few rivals, too. ;)
  3. I can just hear the old-time announcer: "Britt and Brad face the music for their dine-and-dash. Next on GENERAL HOSPITAL."
  4. It still acted circles around Charity Rahmer.
  5. That's when we officially change the name of this show from THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS to THE WALKING DEAD: GENOA CITY.
  6. Because, why not, lol? Seriously, I never bought Reva aspiring to be anything other than a very rich woman (who was married to a Lewis). In fact, I've always said that Miss Sally Gleason is who or what Reva should have become in the long run.
  7. Yeah, but I shudder to think which B&B/DAYS/GH castoff Josh Griffith would hire to play Shawn if Grant Cramer either wasn't interested or was passed over.
  8. True.
  9. I'm sticking with Dean Butler. If Frank truly had his way, there would be no drama on GH whatsoever. Just nonstop "Home & Hearth" crap. That way, with only one set, he could save enough money to hire back everyone from OLTL.
  10. No, Drew, you cannot! IIRC, Ginger was a preschool or kindergarten teacher, which is a creative dead end, as far as professions on soaps go; and even though they tried hard in S4 to sell us on the notion that, in fact, she was always harboring dreams of being a pop/rock singer (no doubt, inspired by Lankford's real-life romance at the time with Warren Zevon), I don't think there was much you could explore in that arena either. (Even Lisa Hartman, who was way more talented than Lankford, ended up not doing much the second time around besides sing covers and cry over Gary/Ray/Joshua/Ben). So, I'm really at a loss as to how Ginger could've evolved with or without Kenny beyond S4. I mean, they COULD have turned Ginger into a full-blown psycho in the same mold as Kimberly Shaw or Sydney Andrews, but I think most MELROSE PLACE fans would agree that that's not sustainable in the long run, lol.
  11. It's not everyday you hear an incoming HW invoke the name of Sinclair Lewis, lol.
  12. Actually, @DRW50 , I think having Kenny and Ginger depart was a smart move. KNOTS had already changed so much, IMO, and neither Ward fit into what the show was becoming. (Same goes for Richard/John Pleshette, although I still hold onto my fanfic of having him return in S14 to defend Mack on murder charges and hook up with Anne as if my very life depended upon it, lol).
  13. Exactly. Because, who is Frank willing to expend in order to avenge Drew's shooting and provide payoff for one of these shitty stories for once? No one. And even if Willow or someone else turns out to be the shooter, and Drew didn't have a hand in it, will they even serve a day in jail? No. They won't. Because, as with everything else that happens on this godforsaken show, this entire story is pointless. Hell, if anything, sending the culprit to prison will just give Frank an excuse to hire 20 more actors! Hope y'all have been missing Michael Easton something fierce, 'cuz you're gonna LOVE him next year when he returns (again!) as the warden (with Roger Howarth, Laurence Lau and John Loprieno all clocking in as inmates)!
  14. Well, just about anything would've made more sense than Richard and Abby sleeping together, lol. But I'm not sure what, if anything, could've been gained from an Abby/Kenny fling either. Sure, Ginger would've been pissed, and either she would've moved out, or thrown him out. But then what? And would anyone really care? On the other hand, if Abby had made a play for Ben..... ;)
  15. On the one hand, it sounds as if James Houghton was given heads-up about the potential Kenny/Ginger spinoff before Kim Lankford, which I think was very unfair of the producers to do. (Sort of smacks of Joyce DeWitt and the rest of the "Three's Company" cast finding out about "Three's a Crowd" almost after the fact). But, on the other hand, I'm not sure how successful Lankford would've been on her own, either on a spinoff or on KL. As it was, the producers really struggled to give the Wards decent storylines after the first season or so.
  16. I'd love to oblige, but given that AL was a faith-based soap opera, I feel like I'll burn in Hell if I do. But seriously. Your description of the Miriam-Blue material does make it sound weightier than I would expect to find on a show like AL. Unless, of course, they had scenes Miriam using the Bible to teach Blue how to read, or had the two sing a few verses of "Put Your Hand in the Hand," in which case, I'll take Huck Finn's advice and go to Hell.
  17. And you would be right, lol. In my many, many, oh so many years of watching soaps, only three soaps have never worked for me on any level: PASSIONS, SUNSET BEACH and B&B. Now, I'm not saying B&B is as BAD as those other two were, but I just don't believe it has ever reached its' maximum potential...and it likely never will.
  18. My guess: Drew set himself up to be shot.
  19. I'm not sure how to feel about that.
