  1. Judy Lewis (ex-Susan, SECRET STORM; ex-Barbara Vining, GH), who also worked BTS as a producer (TEXAS) and writer (SFT), was the daughter of Academy Award winners Loretta Young and (now it can be told) Clark Gable. (IIRC, she was conceived during the filming of 1935's "Call of the Wild.") Steven Ford (ex-Andy, Y&R) is, of course, the son of the late, 38th President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford; and his wife, Betty, whose clinic has helped countless, high-profile celebrities get off the pills, booze and needles over the past few decades. And Clementine Ford (ex-Mac, Y&R) is the daughter of legendary model/"singer"/homewrecker/"actress," Cybill Shepherd.
  2. ABC felt the same way. They didn't want P&G to fire Henry Slesar -- and in fact, as soon as he was available again, they brought him over (as Co-HW w/ Sam Hall) to OLTL.

I'm sure Fox News and the rest of the right-wing media will spin today's situation as "Snowflake Whoopi" and Sunny melting under pressure from Meghan and the other soccer mom on the panel.
  4. ICAM with you both.
  5. Ah, yes. In Which Our Jesus-Loving Heroine Tried to Cross Over Into the Secular World (and Failed).
  6. Yeah, no. I won't be going anywhere near the Hallmark channels again. Their homophobia is officially out in the open, and I ain't havin' it.
  7. On the one hand, I hate that no one at GL ever brought back Kyle Sampson. I always wanted a real, honest-to-God Reva/Josh/Kyle/Kyle's wife quadrangle (with Kyle's wife preferably played by Sharon Gabet). But, on the OTHER hand, considering how much TPTB interfered in GL's final years, perhaps it was for the better that he stayed dead.
  8. Which reminds me, I really need to check out that "Braveheart" movie everyone's going on about.
  9. Nah, I don't wanna Jason killed off. Recast? Yes. Killed off? No.
  10. ICAM. The gloves have LONG needed to come off on the Democrats. Bill and Hillary can't be the ONLY Dems who are willing to get their hands dirty.
  11. I would, too. Believe it or not, though, I would resist killing off that whole crew. Instead, I would force Sonny, Jason, Carly, Sam and everyone else connected into the Federal Witness Relocation Program.
  12. Remember, folks, last year's telecast had a bait-and-switch of sorts, with Marla Gibbs filling in "at the last minute," IIRC. There's nothing that says they couldn't (or wouldn't) do the same thing this time around, too.
  13. When you're young, or younger, you never really appreciate when success enters your life. If anything, you question why it hadn't arrived sooner, lol. That's how I think the MP and 90210 casts felt at the time: they were too busy living in those moments to realize they wouldn't last forever. Conversely, look at the casts of shows like DALLAS and KNOTS LANDING. In those cases, the actors were older and had experienced more of the ups and downs of being in "the business." Ergo, they tended, on the whole, to be more appreciative of the success and exposure these (and other) series had brought them -- both while the series were ongoing, and later. That's why I think it's VERY important to have more shows with multigenerational casts, so that the older cast members could (if only by example) show the younger ones how to handle everything with a modicum of grace and gratitude. It's not GUARANTEED that they'll follow the example -- after all, look at what ultimately happened to the teens on "Diff'rent Strokes" -- but at least it'll be there as a guidepost, should they go looking for it.
  14. I say hit 'em hard three ways: first, a hurricane (bigger than the one in the '70's, far more destructive); second, a serial killer (escapes during the hurricane, kills a bunch more people); and third, hazardous conditions post-hurricane cause another outbreak of Lassa Fever (and this time, it's resistant to Steve Hardy's vaccine, killing the last of the bunch before a new vaccine/antidote is found).
  15. Who I'd Keep: Leslie Charleson (Monica) Genie Francis (Laura) Finola Hughes (Anna) Tristan Rogers (Robert) Kin Shriner (Scott) and Jacklyn Zeman (Bobbie)
  16. I just have to say, @Mitch, that I always love your ideas.
  17. Lassa Fever needs to make a comeback. IJS.
  18. If she isn't, could we deport her (and her husband)? Pretty please? But seriously. This is outrageous, horrible and totally expected from such a monster as our president. If you're not outraged, you should be.
  19. IA (although -- no offense, KA fans! -- Ana-Alicia is a MUCH stronger actress). I have to think her firing was due to budget issues. All the primetime soaps were getting very expensive to produce. Perhaps, the producers believed they could bring in another character and actor for less money. *shrug
  20. I wish it had stayed that way. That was more in Earl Hamner's wheelhouse. Lorimar made a mistake in forcing him to make the show more melodramatic. I'm with your mother, lol.
  21. ICAM.
  22. Exactly. With this administration, in this current political climate, we take what we can get.
  23. Me neither. But, like you, @marceline, and like @Vee, I'm satisfied with his and his family living with the "stain of impeachment" for the rest of their lives.
