RIP: In Memoriam Thread
I'm trying to remember if it was Marc or Larry who appeared a couple of times as a police officer on "The Facts of Life" during the "Edna's Edibles" era.

Why do I feel like stories such as this are designed to make me feel bad for folks who have only themselves to blame? It isn't as if no one had any clue as to who MTG was or what she was about before she was elected. All you had to do was take a glance at her social media accounts to know she was a total loon. Yet, GOP voters in GA decided she was the one for them; and now, they're having voters' remorse? Again, why should I feel sorry for them and their idiotic decisions? You made your bed, as Erica Kane once said, now writhe in it!

Yeah, Trump's gonna be acquitted, so why should he bother hiring GOOD lawyers to defend him?

This is pretty much what I've been saying since late last year. People who think this [!@#$%^&*] will be over and done with by Christmas (2021) are being overly optimistic. If we aren't still wearing masks and social distancing by this time next year, it'll be a miracle.

The Lincoln Project was suing Rudy -- so, of course, the "liberal" NYT had to find a way to discredit them. Not that I think that these people are lying about John Weaver, or that the NYT should have covered up the allegations. I just suspect the NYT went out of its' way to find SOMETHING on the organization in order to turn their Democratic supporters against them and managed to hit paydirt.

I will say that Brooke's departure is one of the few things I love about the show. One of the VERY few.

I think at least some within the Biden administration have learned their lesson from what happened at the start of the Obama era, when Democrats tried to cooperate with Republicans and got nowhere. They know we can't afford to sit around and wait for these changes to happen, or for Republicans to go along with them. Because, the GOP would be happy just to drag their feet until 2022 or '24 and let the Democrats hang themselves.

I don't think they're too thrilled with him at the moment, lol. I could see Mike Pence maybe starting his own church. I do believe this much: I don't see his and "Mother"'s marriage lasting too much longer. I think she was even less thrilled than Melania to live in that kind of fishbowl for the past four years, and I think that put enormous pressure on her and Mike's union, too. So, while I'm not saying it's a GUARANTEE that the two will end up splitting, I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen.

I'm literally heartsick over this news. I hate the term "credit to our race" for obvious reasons, but she truly was. She effortlessly embodied the best parts of Black Americans.- RIP: In Memoriam Thread
Oh, Lord. What can I say about Cicely Tyson that hasn't been said already? Wypipo had Meryl; we (POC) had Cicely. She brought dignity and class to every production she appeared in. Rare is the moment when I, as a Black man, have not felt transformed by one of her many, artful performances. African-Americans, and African-American actresses in particular, owe Miss Tyson a tremendous debt for the doors she broke down through her body of work -- and no, there will never, ever be another one like her. Rest in peace and in power, my Queen. Thank you again for your work and your convictions. We will miss you always. The young guy on Gayle's left (sorry, don't know his name) was right: she often spoke so eloquently that you HAD to sit up and pay attention. Right now, I'm recalling her speech in front of the former slave quarters in "Tyler Perry's Madea's Family Reunion," reminding everyone there what the TRUE purpose of a family reunion is and urging Black men and women to "take their place." Overall, that movie, like most of Tyler Perry's stuff, was colorist, misogynistic crap; but oh, how she (and Maya Angelou) managed to elevate even THAT piece of dung is something that will never stop amazing me.- DAYS: Behind the Scenes, Articles/Photos
