Married to Medicine
LOL, but her random "f**k you!" outburst was like a case of Tourette's. Unless that was a bad edit?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
LOL I'm glad to see everyone else thought the same thing myself and the hubby thought... let us know when the housewarming party is happening, and we'll gladly bring over a bottle of wine. But coming over to help put your drawers in your drawers? Nah sis. That write-up was spot on about Wendy. And yes, we are in a RHONY Season 4 Reunion moment where an entire couch could and should get the boot. But, as you said, RHONY S4 was still enjoyable, and in comparison, that reunion was lightweight compared to some of the ugliness we've seen from the likes of current Potomac, and previous RHOBH and RHONJ reunions.

Oh Heavenly Lord don't go down that route. You shine brightly enough as your own person. Phaedra teeters on clown territory.

ALL: Actors who returned in a new role - has it ever worked?
Nearly 27 years later, and people still wish Wayne Northrop could reclaim the role...

Agreed; I definitely wanted to see Alex and Camille. But this will be scrapped for sure. Sutton fainted at he reunion? Oh my, our southern belle is the Beverly Hills gift that keeps on giving. Haters stay pressed.

I literally just watched this on X, with people chattering about how you do it right. Monique's was epic. I wish she could return.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Well I learned something new today. The "DMV" has a different meaning for people living in a certain region of the country. Cute. Pardon my Midwestern ignorance. I think they're going to try to replace the dead weight (now, which castmembers are the dead weight can be debated). It's kinda nuts there's EIGHT full-time housewives and I could ditch half of them. Meanwhile, are there whispers as to which show is coming back next? I would think New Jersey is up to bat. However, since Bravo is taking their sweet time on some shows (i.e. Atlanta), it might be best for them to spread 'em out, instead of airing 4 franchises at the same time.

DAYS: January 2024 Discussion Thread
So true, and it's a lost aspect of nearly all the soaps now with their limited budgets and characters living in and out of hotel rooms. It makes it all the more jarring when couples break up and they leave their dwellings with one single suitcase and all the furniture and chachkis are left behind for the next occupant.

Well now, Mary isn't a lead, but yes, I don't think the core 4 + Angie can do it alone. As for Monica/Bravo, they DO want her to come back. No one's looking to clean their hands except for the cast. Bravo was hoping she'd plead her case at the reunion but only made it worse. But make no mistake, they want her back in some capacity someway, somehow. This whole bombshell finally put SLC on the map, with Heather's well-rehearsed monologue hitting mainstream.

Well, well, well. I finally get to see what kind of numbers Saved by the Bell was pulling in their heyday.

The Politics Thread
Well, firstly, we'd have a weeklong national mourning celebration. I keep hoping for the day he has a collapse onstage and takes a fatal tumble. I'd much rather he go out that way versus someone taking him out, because then the crazy rightwingers and conspiracy theorists will go on a tirade and kill any "evil liberal" they come in contact with.

I agree that there needs to be a break from the endless petty dinner fights, week after week. I will say though that Married to Medicine does it better. Last night's M2M was also a break from the drama, and a focus on their individual lives, but the women on that show are just... more interesting. Watching these shows back to back there was a definite contrast between these shows that were both in a lull between the blow-ups; Potomac's personal lives just don't add up to much substance.

I mean... yeah. LOL They're all liars. And I'll add a +1 to the Angie hubby rumor since it was apparently circulating all over SLC for the last couple decades, thus hardly a shocker today (albeit, on camera, but still)

I thought the same thing; would be awesome to see those types of comparison charts.

R.I.P.: Bill Hayes Has Died
Gasped when I saw the news. So sad. We could tell his health was deteriorating but I hoped he would be with us forever. Very lucky to have met him and Susan back in 2012. My heart goes out to her.

100%. I feel like Wendy is the least worst, but mostly I feel sorry because she is unfairly targeted by the GEB's. But yeah, Monique and Candiace have been the only good additions to this cast. Potomac and SLC always seem to have the most shallow pools of talent to choose from.

But it's so easy to But yeah Annemarie (to be honest, I've been calling her Anna Maria, so I can't even get the name right) and Nneka both came in as total weaksauce with nothing to really establish themselves individually, and then they pick on one castmember to have some random beef with that doesn't land at all. Especially Annemarie.

Being labeled a Karen isn’t about race. It’s about their feelings of entitlement and privilege, and when their feelings of entitlement are challenged, they play victim. I’ve seen black women, Korean women, and Hispanic women labeled as a Karen on my own experience alone.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
On one hand, I agree with @DaytimeFan regarding the whole ick factor of it all. Particularly the cyber "bullying" through an Instagram account. On the other hand, her hustle (to the extremes, befriending/working for Jen Shah) to get on this show and be a *star* is nothing out of the ordinary. I found it ridiculous how Heather/Lisa/Angie were ridiculing her for trying to get on the show when they ALL did it and continue to go the extra mile to maintain their status as a reality TV figure. And I have to agree with you that the majority of all the other arguments and issues this season were the usual petty squabbles between the core four that's already been done for the last 3 years. Again, they came out strong their first season. There was a long break between filming the 1st season versus when it aired (presumably when Monica first met Jen but didn't know of her RHOSLC status...?), and they all got pumped up on their own hype and the social media petty stuff after Season 1 aired, and then come Season 2, all the ups and downs of people liking/hating/forgiving/hating again cycle began. When Bravo rolled that clip package last night of all the different fights amongst the women, it was pretty telling that they showed ALL the arguments in ONE clip package, versus dissecting each issue individually. None of them were really that deep. Meanwhile, I've never taken a liking to Angie, who does come off thirstier to be there, and she's lucky the talent pool in SLC is shallow, because she could easily be written out next season with no one batting an eye. BH: @Antoyne I'm in agreement with you. The microaggressions and tone deafness (i.e. the comments about her staff, etc.) have built up to this.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Agreed. At this point, I consider these to be improvised soap operas. The producers/headwriters come up with ideas and have their breakdown writers/producers flesh out the individual arcs, and then the on-air talent / actors / Housewives are responsible for fleshing out the dialogue (i.e. the scriptwriters). The producers tell them what, when, where, who they're filming with, and give them bullet points of topics to discuss (other castmates; their marriage woes; sketchy businesses; their beef with others, etc.), and will coach them on the side with topics to bring up as they're filming their 987th recreation of the next "Dinner Party From Hell." That's why I always give a great big Anderson Cooper eyeroll whenever someone brings up a topic in front of everyone that clearly makes everyone squirm or it's something that should really be discussed one-on-one with the individual they're beefing with, because I just know the producers off-camera told them to bring it up. It's such a tired formula at this point, and it's no wonder they stepped up their game this year by knowingly hiring someone (Monica) who's been lowkey stalking the castmates for years in hopes of joining the show. There's no shame in her game, I guess(?), as so many newbies are just ridiculously thirsty (see the new Danielle on RHONJ, for example) to be the next *STAR*. But it is starting to come off as icky now, with Bravo going to great lengths for their next November Sweeps twist. Andy Cohen considers Housewives to be modern day soap operas. As such, their lifespans will be shorter. Real Housewives of Orange County won't be celebrating their 72nd anniversary to match Guiding Light, godwilling. To equate Housewives to Soaps, I'd say we're in the mid-2000's now; numbers are down and showrunners are scrambling. Add to that, they're also at a crossroads of keeping their veterans that they've mostly run out of story for, or flood the show with cheaper newbies. A Whodunnit Murder Mystery is sure to be in the cards for 2025. Or Dissociative Identity Disorder. Or maybe someone's househusband will accidentally get his peen cut off and sewn back on upside down. I vote Joe Gorga. LOL.

Did you spot yourself in the footage? Agree with all that Karen is the one that helps bring any joy and lightheartedness to this increasingly toxic franchise. Such a shame; Potomac was always the breath of fresh air when the other shows were darker or just blah.
