  1. I mean, the whole premise of Guiding Light's clone story was the most ridiculous and unrealistic thing imaginable, but dammit if it didn't make for fun, compelling entertainment! Double the Reva; double the fun! IMO at least
  2. Meanwhile, in this day and age of streaming vs. linear television, the networks are now realizing the importance of their older viewers across the board (daytime, primetime, etc.) because they are the most likely to sit down and watch a program live as it airs. Crazy to think they haven't bothered to do another year long study, as if people lifestyles and consumer choices haven't changed in 50+ years.
  3. Is it posted somewhere? I don't see it on SNL's YouTube page. [Side note: I loved Chloe's holiday impression of Jennifer Coolidge impressed by Christmas stuff... Coolidge was supposed to host this past May before the strike.]
  4. It's quite, uh, remarkable seeing a guy with muscles as big as this running at such a fast pace.
  5. Excellent research. Now explain to me how Hope nearly died in an avalanche in Aremid, Illinois Eww, just writing Aremid, Illinois makes it sound less mysterious. Let's just leave it ambiguous, since Reilly's era seemed set in New England anyhow.
  6. All I know is, according to that oldschool Jossip gossip, Tom Eplin gave her a life-long parting gift after their relationship ended...
  7. Agreed. I like Ashley and she's always doing what the producers tell her to do earns her paycheck by stirring mess up, but this was not the one to start. I was hoping Wendy and Nneka would join forces and become friends since it still feels like Wendy's on her own island. Hopefully this misunderstanding will be cleared up early on and it won't be the new feud of the season. I'm wondering what will go down between The Grande Dame and Messy Mia since they're currently "repairing" their friendship, handshake and all. Methinks Mia will just start flapping her gums with garbage, lies, and gross exaggerations as always in her attempt to stay relevant, especially with 8 full-time cast members now. Like @Cat said, they're softening up Gizelle and I'm not mad at it. She needed to give us more, both personally and in the group. I'm glad to see a more friendly interaction between her and The Grande Dame, while side-eying her bff Robyn's mess of a life.
  8. Indeed, thank you for all your hard work @JAS0N47 Among so many other things we've learned and/or confirmed, we can now see when DAYS hit #1, OLTL hit #1, the fact that GL did *not* hit #1 during the much ballyhooed weeks of August 1984, among so much more
  9. The return of Queen Dee put DAYS back at No. 2 for multiple weeks
  10. Ah yes, the big building we saw when they did their 1993 Night Sins primetime episode. Plus, I think they used a skyscraper building as an exterior shot back in 2002 when they went somewhere (Minneapolis?) to do a bunch of establishing shots for Salem homes/businesses, etc. I swear at one point during the last 20 years, someone mentioned that their business was in the same building as Titan. At that point, I figured many businesses were in that giant skyscraper building that's in "small-town" Salem with an international airport...
  11. From what I understand, and someone who watched it firsthand as it originally aired could answer better, it was the aftermath of the Moldavian massacre in Season 6 that didn't make sense. For starters, there were contract negotiation issues with Joan Collins so she doesn't appear in the first episode of the season, and scenes were rewritten so that Krystle was in the place of Alexis and what they originally intended for Alexis to do. Also, there was the Krystle vs Rita doppelganger that apparently was a turnoff. In all honesty, I watched the show up through the middle of season 7 some years back when SoapNet was still around, and I found Season 6 to be more entertaining than the 5th season, which was their highest rated and the #1 show on TV. I didn't find the campiness of two Krystles any worse than some doppelganger stories we've seen on daytime.
  12. Any word on the street (©GizelleBryant) regarding how things develop between Heavenly and Phaedra over the course of the season? I could see them pairing up as the bestest of buddies or bitter rivals, the latter likely being the case. So, I did a Cliff's Notes catchup (i.e. reunions and key episodes), so I don't know all the ups and downs of M2M, but what's the consensus on this board regarding Quad? And what's the tea on Mariah no longer appearing onscreen? And lastly, of all the non-OG castmembers that have come and gone, which did you like the most? I liked Lisa Nicole.
  13. The medial line of success is now a 6.0. And top tier success is a 7.0. Meanwhile, poor NBC will end another decade with nearly all their shows dead last.
  14. If they ever put Deidre Hall in a dark wig and tell us she's Hope Williams Brady, I'll finally quit this damn show.
  15. I can't imagine that to be the case considering their budget was slashed by some 40% at that time; hence, Peapack with low quality hand held cameras.
  16. I love season one, slow pace and all! I love seeing Pamela Sue Martin as the villainess. We get a beautiful foundation as to what makes these characters tick, what their strengths and weaknesses are, etc. It's similar to Melrose Place's first season which lets us get to know the core characters in depth before all the crazy kicks in. Although admittedly there's 1 or 2 episodes in season one that are a little too Blaisdel family heavy.
  17. Agreed. In her explanations, she lowkey admitted that stuff like this has happened repeatedly, but these instances got caught in the press, paparazzi, etc. I think Gizelle picked up on that. Side note: What a JOY to have Potomac back!!! And I can't believe I'm gonna say this (hell is freezing over), but I actually prefer seeing Charrisse in the mix than broke and busted Mia.
  18. I still get annoyed when Billy Flynn (Chad) lets a smirk out while saying his lines. It looks like he's trying desperately hard to stay in character. I hate that. Which is why by comparison, the original possession storyline was lightyears better than the campy, cheesy garbage they gave us 2 years ago. DAYS was over the top in the mid 90's, but they played it 100% straight (not referring to sexual orientation in this case) and serious. Now, everything is so cheeky, wink-wink nudge-nudge. It's like a dollar store ripoff of Desperate Housewives.
  19. Meanwhile, how about a visit from Donna's son Marcus. Didn't Eric adopt him even though he was a full grown man?
  20. It is pretty strange how at one point, you had ABC's 3 hourlong soaps at the very top of the Nielsens heap, and their 3 half-hour shows at the very bottom. A scheduling change could have helped/saved at least 1 of the weaklings.
  21. Agreed - Can't wait!
  22. This one always makes me giggle. Probably the funniest sketch from all of last season.
  23. I thought Nicole's only boozing problem was around 1999-00 when she was depressed about being married to Lucas? That was the first time we really saw Arianne Zuker shine, as she played up the comedy.
  24. Wow. I can do without at least half of the characters mentioned. Like literally the whole Harris/Ava/Clyde paragraph could be deleted and I wouldn't miss anyone mentioned. November Sleeps...
