  1. That doesn't need to be in the classic thread, IMO. With Martha's nonsense we can at least make a case for here because she is reacting to the verdict and her husband is tied to Trump and China. We honestly have no choice, since there are many conservative/right wing actors in soaps in particular. As long as they keep it out of my face and off the screen I can usually live and let live. I regret how Martha's behaved but I still loved her work on the show. CH I find obnoxious both on and offscreen, but Diane I can still enjoy in small doses.
  2. The NY Times Pitchbot account has been quietly making NYT and Beltway reporters seethe for months or years now, but it's gotten under the skin of Semafor's Maxwell Tani too, who has never met a negative Biden gossip story he doesn't love:
  3. I don't think they will be. But it's not all going to manifest at once, as I said. It's going to stick and keep dragging him down, just as it did in 2020 (and '22) and it will also manifest in more voters he quietly loses, again. Plus, as even outlets like Semafor have noted, the quiet psychic impact of him actually being convicted can't be overstated.
  4. Always a profile in courage, the NYT Editorial Board has chosen now to declare Trump unfit to run for or take office.
  5. A gift link from Rolling Stone on how Trump thought one juror would save him. I'm glad someone did it!
  6. People who think this is baked in or will have no impact are making the same mistake they did four years ago: It's about the normal people who are disengaged with Very Online politics. Biden won both the primary and general with relative swiftness in the end bc of 'normie' voters who were simply deeply dissatisfied or unsettled by Trump, his behavior and the various cases against him, as well as bc of Dem base voters dissatisfied with a series of flawed party challengers. The news cycle as well as punditry don't factor them in enough. Now this is going to stick to Trump for that same kind of voter who isn't part of the hardcore in either party, and start to jostle them awake for November.
  7. Very kind of you, and fascinating.
  8. What cracks me up are the fans claiming this is so inexplicable for Ava, the writing doesn't make sense, etc. but when confronted by all she's done since there's just a lot of platitudes about her 'growth'. How has she grown? AFAIC the character has never stopped being bad news, they just started writing her too soft to keep her on the show. I think her behavior is classic Ava.
  9. Chrishell was a fan favorite on All My Children for a number of years before becoming a major reality TV star. I'm surprised they got her tbh, but good for them.
  10. Wow. @DRW50 should hear about this one. Chrishell's star has moved up in the world so it's actually a get.
  11. From what we've always heard from cast and crew he is on-set nonstop and very particular about what he wants moment to moment. The former is very admirable for an EP, the latter can be a problem in the wrong conditions or with the wrong tastes.
  12. I thought Cameron and Alexis had a lot of chemistry on GH, but it was the show's deep dislike of Alexis at the time that made it sour in the end.
  13. I remember that now, yes. Thanks for the clarification, I had a feeling it was not quite the case.
  14. I wonder who did that. Three guesses and the first two I probably don't need.
  15. Didn't Larry Hagman intercede on BBG's behalf in the end, or was that his own mythology?
  16. I like dc's idea a lot too, but I think people would just complain about the Gregory SL going on even longer.
  17. I honestly doubt Korte has any interest in Nina or Drew doing much of anything. I do think they were just chemtesting Jordan with Drew bc the show seems unwilling to fire her wooden actor or so many others. As I said earlier, I'd much sooner see someone like Keesha Ward in the role of Drew's co-planner on the urban development, and possibly the 'respectable' public love interest vs. his kinky secret passion for Nina. I will really miss the whole current Drew/Nina/Willow, etc. setup assuming Korte torches it with Mulcahey gone. I agree the Gregory/Finn scenes were very tender and well done, as well as his stuff with Tracy, etc. at the wedding.
  18. I also thought Brooke and Dimitri was strange and random when they tried it on ABC. Yet on Prospect Park it really worked for me.
  19. Thanks. That reminds me, I don't know if I ever posted too much about Bill Gunn's arthouse public access soap Personal Problems in here vs. other threads.
  20. I'm sorry, I just do not find Cyrus scary lol.
  21. Granted I've not been able to start S7 yet due to uh, lack of resources, but how much longer could they have really strung it out? A long manhunt for the kids? I feel like that might just be insult to injury given the very, very extended (if satisfying) build to the baby story.
