  1. I don't give a fúck what Korte does, John. I'm not watching this show anymore effective probably this week.
  2. It's clear from the interview this was meant to be open-ended and the beginning of more. Sad.
  3. I saw. Another legend.
  4. That all being said, they have still leaned heavily on Laura's new role as mayor to make her a major and active part of a ton of canvas-wide story happening all across the canvas, almost like she's a police chief. Not just in one sweeps period, but for years. That and the heavy use of the vets like Kevin, Mac, Felicia, etc. in recent years are the things I can consistently credit the last tiresome decade for getting right.
  5. I don't agree at all that Laura is not prominent these last few years - she is mayor and has been central in a ton of key story in the last few years, shockingly so. We all (and by all I mean virtually everyone in this conversation) discussed it that positive evolution for her prominence just last year during the February sweeps period as one of the few consistent bright spots of the show in recent years. It's only the last few months she's been on a lot less. I find her pairing with Kevin boring as hell myself but it's been reasonably popular.
  6. I don't blame LW for any of this.
  7. I've only watched some of his tenure on ATWT in '86 but I never saw him sweat, honestly. Until now I just assumed he had gotten the hang of daytime post-OLTL. It's too bad because I thought he did very good work as Earl.
  8. I have my doubts about FV ever wanting her on contract. The story I'd always heard is that Genie dipped abruptly in 2013, the anniversary year after returning with grand fanfare because (allegedly) FV tried to put her on the same recurring corps he keeps most of the vets on. (This may also have been a sticking point with their approaching Stephen Nichols to return as Stefan at the time.) She passed and walked in the fall at the end of her short contract, kiboshing Ron's grand L&L reunion plans which TG was very against anyway. Later, they repeatedly tried to either get her back without a contract or drop her to recurring and each time Genie bucked. Whether or not that came from the network, it was something FV has attempted multiple times, only grudgingly offering her a contract. It has been his policy since OLTL to keep as many vets on regular recurring as possible to cut costs.
  9. People are allowed to have opinions about actors regardless of their resumes. We weren't all born yesterday on this forum that is what, almost 20 years old and are not only just now having these facts magically dropped upon us. This is not all news to us.
  10. I'm just waiting for the other connect to go back up.
  11. GH's own Demi Moore (a.k.a. Jackie Templeton #1) is getting major rave reviews at Cannes for her new body horror film The Substance, with Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid.
  12. Can't tell if she's just being messy about the recent idiocy (and possibly CVE resuming his old role at some point) or if it's something new we have no concept of. I assumed the former at first.
  13. Yep, this is it (timestamped):
  14. We all know it was only a matter of time before Chase took a bullet in the line. Time to speed that up. BLQ, well I think Amanda can do great work if she wants to but I'm not here for Brook Lynn as Agnes of God. So either she can change things up or she can go too.
  15. I went back through some of that '78 stuff a year or two ago. Bobbie was insanely evil to Laura, just relentless. Sarah or Laura's Carlys at their most driven would've had a run for their money. I knew she was a vixen but I didn't know Bobbie got down like that. The best work I think I maybe ever have seen Jackie do though, I could only find once in a clip shown during one of the televised soap awards ceremonies, I think from the '90s - it was part of a larger full broadcast posted on YT. It was a clip from '78 or '79 when Scott finally rejects Bobbie in full and she completely loses her mind on him. She was absolutely white hot. I'll have to find it again someday.
  16. They can both dip. Chase is boring as hell anyway.
  17. It is so ridiculous that Sonny and Carly, etc. were comfy with Ava to begin with before this regime began. People whining that Ava is getting vilified in this run can miss me because a villain/antiheroine is what Ava is, period. I really like her scheming against Sonny and Carly, but outside of when she has the wool over his eyes (as she does now) neither of them should be able to share space with her for long.
  18. It honestly looks like LW and others have been wearing shít from home more and more. It looks like civilian clothes. It has not been flattering on Laura onscreen, as she is still a beautiful woman. And don't get me started on Setton's standard wardrobe or her Women Talking bridal party. And anyone who knows OLTL as well as I did knows that Diane, Laura, occasional Guest Star Nora/Hillary B. Smith and now apparently Nina and Ava are sometimes swapping out old jackets that Viki used to wear. Viki!!
  19. And is a decorated war hero. Any PR expert could've also played the angle of 'he took the rap for his ex,' which would incense Carly and cause drama lol. Ah well.
  20. I've heard so much about those guys and other folks. I think maybe one went over to PP? Needleman? Not sure, maybe not. We don't always remember the crews these actors grow up with too.
  21. I do think the "Drew becomes Drew Quartermaine and goes into politics as a gladhanding tycoon" angle was all PM (and I've heard it was, but who knows). It reminds me of some of the classic Ross Marler stories, as I said. And it really suits what Cameron is good at. It's obvious Nina would've become either his scheming First Lady/wife or his secret scandalous lover BTS, or both. I was all for this stuff. People were clowning the Drew Q thing because he's been in prison, but exactly how many felons, killers, bombers, etc. on soaps have gone on to high office? IIRC Scott became DA again after he robbed the entire town and left behind a videotape trolling them! In any event, Mulcahey allegedly quit instead of being fired and good for him.
  22. The thing is that they've spent the past couple years humiliating Nina onscreen daily, having her constantly fúck up, cry and howl and beg for forgiveness from everyone in town as they excoriated her. Even as someone who doesn't care much for Nina generally, it was exhausting and tiresome. This appears to be something deliberate from the writers' room (and I suspect Korte) ever since MB asked to be paired with CW, some way to subvert it. Many of us have talked about it here in the past. Nina selling the hotel back was fine by me bc it never made much sense for her to have it, and she did it to clean the slate with Sonny and Carly. And Willow putting her down yet again got her in bed with Drew, and the relationship with her daughter is now on an upswing (and I'm sure will be down again soon with PM leaving). So that was all growth to me, versus the years of onscreen bullying.
