Eurovision Song Contest 2026

Honestly, I only liked Finland and, to my own surprise, Belgium (which I thought wouldn’t qualify).
Most of the other performances fell flat. I love the song, but Sweden’s live vocals were mostly off-key.
Poland doesn’t really have a melody, just vocal acrobatics, and both Lithuania and Serbia are too dark for my taste.
San Marino should have gotten 12 points for being the trashiest trainwreck I’ve seen on the Eurovision stage in the last 10 years 🤣Montenegro’s performance was also all over the place, so the NQ wasn’t a surprise.

Another slow one today.
Clearly, it seems like there's a pattern emerging with all these Lexie/Dimera-centric episodes lol
But I like that Paulina had Marlena, and then Chanel to talk to about everything she's been going through lately. It's a good way to use them all, but I still think Marlena needs to be more involved in family's storylines, and also have a story of her own. Paulina did come off a little extra though. In those scenes, and in her later scenes with Abe. It really is time for Jackee to learn the art of subtlety.
But James Reynolds continued to do a good job, and so did Tyler Andrews. And Theo did look good in those jeans 😉😂
Steve and Alex's scenes were ok too. I guess it was time for their conversation to finally happen. But hopefully, it takes a long time and a lot of conflict before they finally all become the happy family that Steve was hoping that they become lol
I had no use for EJ/Gwen though.

Right--I could imagine some taking offence to that. Was the soap press cool on OLTL by the very end of Rauch's era? I remember years back as a teen finding some early/mid 70s soap press and being surprised how at least some of them did NOT like All My Children and some of the other new soaps, which they didn't consider "real soaps"

I would have to look for my scans, which isn't likely (maybe if that tumblr account is still around we can find an SOD review of OLTL in that period). Soap Opera Weekly tended to have more open criticism. Other than Marlena de la Croix's "Dirty Dancing" dig at Gottlieb I'm not sure how much they said. I think, as mentioned before, the Eber abuse story was criticized.

Saturday Night Live: Discussion Thread

Many of them were forgettable. One of the only other writers of note was Marilyn Suzanne Miller, who had written for the show in its first four seasons. She did again in 1981-1982 and wrote two of my favorite sketches - one where Robin Duke has a one-night stand she regrets with Tim Kazurinsky, only for this to get much worse when she gets a call that her father has died and he is still there (in a second part of the sketch post-commercial break, we see the funeral...which he has followed her to), and another when Elizabeth Ashley hosted where we see her and the female cast as teenagers, then jump forward 20 years. They have the same dialogue in both parts of the sketch, it's just the different parts of their lives, along with their deliveries, shift the meaning.
