I'm glad Kevin is there to explain racism to the black people. I'm sorry but the fact that the black characters didn't consider this or voice it is actually insane. Especially with two older black people in the family.

Nina says Sonny's name once per episode but hasn't mentioned Willow in weeks. She don't care about that girl, she was just mad that Carly kept something from her. Willow doesn't care about her either.

Please, it is a job requirement for the Police Commissioner of Port Charles to have committed treason at least once.  Mac blew up a ship, Sean and Anna were counteragents, even Burt was sketchy.  The police are shadier than the mobsters in that town.

I'm happy Carly is going back to the diner.  Although it is a little odd that she manages a diner, but lives in a mansion (I know why within story, I'm just talking about the appearances).

I would argue she already does that, though - again, Mayor Laura is inserted into virtually any ongoing situation or storyline by virtue of her job which makes her central to the town. It's been like this for several years running.

I like Laura as the mayor too.  Now if we are nitpicking, I would argue she ditches Kevin because I don't really love that pairing.  It's fine, but so boring.

Nina should have been gone years ago.  I get wanting to keep CW because she brings 10X the energy of most of the male cast, but the character is crap.  Sure, MB and CW have some chemistry, but like @Vee said does it really matter when you know Vanessa Marcil is out there unemployed?  That's an easy slam dunk, so let's not try to shape Nina into a viable character.

I would ditch Willow and Michael at this point.  Give them a rest, a long stay in Paris, whatever.  The thing about getting rid of Willow alone is that Michael will then be set free onto the female population of PC again.  We don't want that.  If CD has proved anything over the years, it's that he cannot sell a viable romantic pairing.  When I am longing for the days of HookerAbby/Michael you know it's bad.

See, we need to go with cult member kidnapping Willow. Michael gives Amelia & Wiley to someone to care for them & heads out to find & save Willow, which he won't be able to do so they're gone indefinitely! Meanwhile back at the ranch Nina goes completely wiggy & begins murdering at least one person per day.

Kevin! Kevin has a delayed reaction to Esme knocking the [!@#$%^&*] out of him & develops a brain tumor which causes him to think he is Ryan. Now that story tells itself.

They should've mined both the characters' dark psychological history years ago - beyond just Ryan and Laura's instant brothers. Kevin's family history is a veritable haunted house. I get that Genie is happy with him and they have some fans but it is boring. I'll never not want Kevin and Lucy reunited, and never not want a new man on par with Luke's heroic stature for Laura.

And yes, Michael and Willow should be long gone.

I know Kevin/Laura is a nice, steady pairing and there is a place for that.  Just not for these two characters.  I also wish Lucy/Kevin would reunite so maybe that colors my perspective of Laura and Kevin.  I just don't know who you would put Laura with at this point.  Scott?  Kin Shriner tends to exhaust me these days.  And no one tell me Curtis even as a joke lol.

    • One thing I thought about is if Hayley will have a reaction to Bill threatening to kidnap and sell a baby. That's another level of viciousness and with her just having thought she was pregnant it might make her feel some type of way.
    • You're welcome. Fall 1982-Spring 1985 was the peak of primetime soaps. What a time to have been alive.
    • 1990/91 Cheers, Roseanne, A Different World, The Cosby Show, Empty Nest, The Golden Girls were still Top 10 shows, and Murphy Brown and Designing Women became Top 10 shows. It was the following season that I think was the transition season for sitcoms.
    • @xtr I loved Martin in Thursday's episode, he was almost a different character. I thought he was flirty, funny, carefree, and giggly. Glad I have someone to share my top 2 women(Nicole and Eva) with, I agree Nicole is the heart of the Dupree family, and also the heart of the show IMO. We rode into the show on the passenger side of her car, lol. What I am enjoying the most about the show, is that they did such a great job character building, because all I care about is the CHARACTER journey. Nicole, Eva, Leslie, Dani, Chelsea, etc. very invested in what's coming next. I even feel that way about Mona, Shanice, and Doug.
    • I know we have discussed the fact that Another World seemed to be planning a location shoot in Finland that got cancelled. I came across this item from the syndicated Soapbox column published June 14, 1982. "Soap operas have been experimenting extensively with on-location shooting in recent years to enhance storylines and increase their viewing audience. A major drawback is the added production costs involved. Another World, for example, cancelled a special trip for Victoria Wyndham (Rachel Cory on the show), who was scheduled to shoot scenes in Finland. The producers felt that the high price tag, along with resentment of the cast members who also wanted to travel but were to be left behind. was enough to scrap the whole project."
    • A few more thoughts about these last two episodes. I thought it was interesting how much disdain both Dani/Anita have for Eva. I thought it was amusing how Dani was calling her lying/conniving and how Anita pointed as if to say, "that part". They definitely are not here for her, and I could see them having harsh confrontations with her in addition to Leslie. I'm curious to see Kat's interaction with Eva on Monday's episode. I think it might be interesting if Kat (along with possibly Naomi/Chelsea) come around to Eva before Dani/Anita do. Of course, Kat will be understandably angry at her. But maybe a tiny part of her might feel sorry for her if she really does believe that she's Ted's daughter as well and that Leslie lied to her. I could see Kat confronting Eva again and warning her not to harm her family anymore. But I could also possibly see Kat admitting that what Ted/Leslie did regarding her was messed up as well. And maybe that will pave the way down the line for them to get along better. I also agree with the comments/speculation made in the threat that Nicole will eventually accept/probably love her someday as well. I still wouldn't mind if somehow Nicole ended up being her biological mother. They have both been acting like they care for each other in this storyline. Nicole somehow ending up being her mother would be soapy and provide some more interesting layers in this story. And regarding Andre/Dani's romance it seems like they are genuinely developing feelings for each other. I have missed episodes, so maybe more of this has been elaborated on. But it seemed like there was genuine affection between both of them when they snuck a kiss publicly in the hotel. And also, them both talking about going publicly with their relationship. I wonder what everyone's reactions will be should they be caught by someone together. Of if they flat out tell everyone about their relationship.
    • I was wondering what week it was, and it explains the low rating for Knots Landing. I was also wondering what preempted Dallas and Falcon Crest.
    • Interesting take on Dallas. Frankly I think the plot of JR Returns should have been the way Dallas ended but for whatever reason they thought they had the chance to get renewed for another season lol. A week later Knots’ 2 hour season finale ranked at #10 against Cheers #3 and LA Law at #5. There’s only a handful of other shows running that long and still doing well enough the ratings/rankings i.e. Gunsmoke, Law & Order, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy and more recently Blue Bloods.    Another point of interest is the unraveling of the 80’s sitcoms had already begun in the spring of ‘91. The first part of a Who’s The Boss? two part season finale we see here ranked at  #40 and second part ranked at #43 the following week. Growing Pains finale the previous week barely made it into the Top 30. The Wonder Years fared no better. Cosby losing ground, Night Court and Dear John just being there etc.

I haven't posted in a few weeks and have some catching up to do. But I did manage to look at the last two episodes after hearing about how good they were. I really enjoyed them. My thoughts on them: The affair/secret child reveal was very good. TMG was really good as Leslie, her whole confrontation with Ted/revealing all to the Duprees was very entertaining. I continue to love AM/Eva. She my top two favorites on the show (along with Nicole). I have a lot of sympathy for Eva and how she was conflicted/ultimately felt guilty about publicly revealing the truth to everyone. I wonder what will happen to her next, especially if she does go and live with the Doctor that is friends with Ted and Nicole. I lol'ed at how Martin/Smitty jumped up and grabbed Leslie when Eva was calling her crazy. The way they did that was funny to me. I haven't liked many of Martin's actions/his attitude especially regarding Smitty/his children, but I think it was interesting how he wanted to check Ted for his actions. And also wanted Bill to be questioned/confronted about his as well. I haven't been the biggest fan of the character of Andre, but I appreciated his calm and measured approach after the reveal and how he talked with Eva. I thought it was interesting that he knew about the affair and convinced Ted not to tell Nicole. Speaking of Nicole, I continue to love her character and view her as the heart of this show/Dupree family. I am interested in seeing where her journey goes as a character after this reveal. I'm looking forward to her leaning on Dani and (also Anita/Vernon, etc...) for a change.
