Native of Area Will Join Cast Of TV Network Drama Series
A Johnstown native who uses the stage name Peter Burnell will join the cast of NBC television network's daytime drama series, "The Doctors," tomorrow afternoon. The young actor, whose real name is Burnell (Bunky) Sitterly, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Sitterly of 460 North Perry Street, Johnstown, will portray Mike Powers, son of Matt and Maggie Powers, who are the show's stars.
"The Doctors" is shown on Station WRGB, Schenectady, from 2:30 to 3 Monday through Friday afternoons. Burnell was graduated from Johnstown High School in 196and from Columbia University n 1964. He remained in New York City after being graduated from Columbia. He first appeared on the stage in 1958 at the age of 16 at the now-closed Sacandaga Summer Theater.
After college graduation he appeared in off-Broadway productions and in summer stock in Buffalo, Stowe, Vt, and Barnard-Columbia Summer Theater. He also performed at the Allerton Hotel cabaret theater in Chicago.
He has appeared in four motion pictures,Sweet November," "A Lovely Way to Die", "What's So Bad About Feeling Good" and "The Detectjve." On television, he has appeared on the daytime drama, "As the World Turns," and "Another World
