I just wanted to add that that Ned would have suffer no risk...except losing the CEO position if the merger had gone through giving Jake, Michael, (and Carly) controlling interest to vote out Valentin...the only reason he still is CEO after all that ELQ stock fighting we had over the last few years. I think Sam sold the kids stock to Valentin. I just cannot remember what she was given in exchange by Valentin. But I remember Valentin explaining and listing who stock he had (like BrookLynn's for example). It was why Jake being revealed alive reshuffled the stock again and Michael made such a point to join forces with Jake. And they just thought Ned would stand aside and be demoted and he...in true Quartermaine fashion...betrayed them.

I thought Victor alluded to his involvement with Jennifer Smith a few weeks back?

I do believe the card (but not Peter by way of his box) storyline was dropped. Outside of any throwaway lines like they did with Dante and his brainwashing.

But now it looks like...what Victor was looking for...was Peter's box and what is in it. And he was eavesdropping on Britt and Cody and knows she has it.

But at this point Victor definitely has a lot of plans in play so who knows if it is the main thing or just part of a bigger plan.

But I agree. I hate dangling plotlines, too.

I will say this much. Since it was Ned trying to get Jake back into the fold when he made it back to PC, it was sad to see the writers slowly minimize Ned...not helped by his drama with Olivia at the time when he was the main person trying to get Valentin out. But that was well played how Valentin found that one crack in the Quartermaines' armor to keep himself as CEO with Ned still firmly in charge as well. At this point, Michael really should leave well enough alone. So Ned shading him and threatening him with the insider trading reminding everyone whom's son he is...was priceless.

I Wonder, Felicia has been back on contract since early this year, did anyone try writing for her so far? I really thought for a while they would have her pregnant ( oh yeah KW is 60 but GH was never age concious) but so far she has been just a supporting player

This makes sense, except I still don't understand Drew's position at ELQ?  What right would he have to own or inherit stock in the company?

Is it one of those things where soap writers don't understand the legalities of a will? Because just being Jason's long lost twin doesn't give him access to property that wasn't specified for him in his father's will.

The martini glass that Victor Cassadine broke wasn't like even real glass. It was totally one of those crystal disposables from Dixie Crystal or Chinet

There are so many characters on this show as I'm still trying to wrap my brain on who's who. But at least I'm trying.

I'm just happy to see Felicia.

They really have turned the Q mansion into a suburban house. The kitchen area looks like the Fresh Prince set from almost 30 years ago. But Alley Mills is having a ball as Heather, it's still nice to see Finola, Tristan and Kristina, and the little dude playing Leo is adorable and wonderful representation. He reminds me a lot of my nephew on the spectrum except not super spoiled.

    • There is no dispute that Jill Farren Phelps had a successful career in daytime based on longevity, but that does not preclude discussion and dislike of her decisions at various shows. Sure there may have been some misogyny involved BITD(we don't know as I don't recall JFP ever mentioning that) but the head of CBS Daytime at that point was a woman and there were other women involved BTS. I think that so long as an EP could deliver, or at least talk a good game they would be respected.
    • It surprises/disappoints me too that GL's ratings during '89-'93 don't reflect the quality of the show. But when I call it great soap, I'm not defining that by ratings either.  I'm probably in the minority, but I think Reilly takes something intangible with him when he goes. There's a sense of humor that just disappears in '93.
    • Ok, I know nothing about Another World except their catchy intro song from long ago, but this makes me want to catch!  That crazy mother keeping her son's girlfriend or wife hostage, wow!
    • And maybe Hotel could have been placed at 9pm Tues instead of Paper Dolls. Not that I thing it was a surefire thing but at least viewers were familiar with the show and it might have done better than PD. ABC's line up was pretty threadbare at that point. And with a big guest star to launch the season - Elizabeth Taylor- the numbers would have been there initially.
    • Any fan of RuPaul would dispute calling any of these examples “drag”. A costume?, A disguise?, A lame attempt at humor? -- yes -- Drag? -- nope
    • No asterisk. I meant that the circumstances during the first year were in her favor.
    • Maybe I am misunderstanding you? Are you suggesting that her success at GL should have an asterisk next to it because she was smart enough to exploit a weakness in the marketplace to gain ratings?  Note: Try not to take this personally—I’m not accusing anyone of being consciously misogynistic. I’m simply proposing that the origins of certain ideas about Ms. Phelps—such as claims that she was unprepared or a poor manager of her writing staff—may be rooted in misogyny. Perhaps, with the benefit of hindsight, it's worth reconsidering those opinions. At the very least, imagine being one of the few women in the room while a male network executive tries to decide what women want to watch during the day. That context has certainly led me to reassess many of my own long-held views.
    • Through 78 and 79 under Marland and Pat Falken smith GH was still heavily hospital based with a mix of storylines. The Doctors would have been fine had they followed that template. Once GH went with Ice Princess all bets were off.Who knows how much TD would have copied that direction? And OLTL, DOOL went in that direction quite heavily while other shows dabbled in far out stories. The thing is that TD was well set up for an expansion.

    • Aaron Spelling still had clout with ABC in Fall 1984, as I think they knew he was going to pull out all the stops for Dynasty to get to #1, which he did. That's probably why ABC kept Hotel as Dynasty lead out. Fall 1985 with the sale to Capital Cities and Brandon Stoddard arrival, Aaron Spelling would lose his clout with ABC.
