General Hospital: August 2022 Discussion Thread

Saw this on another board, from Becky on the podcast about her current "story"

 

 

I listened to the podcast that RH just did where she gave her take on all the big storylines of her last 25 years. When she got to her current one, she expressed how in the dark she is on what's happening with her "daddy" flashbacks. She mentioned how she asked for some context as to what the reason was for her most recent scene in the stairwell, so she could accurately emote. She kept getting "I don't know" answers.

Is there any actual story going on right now? I've seen bits and pieces of the last few episodes and nothing seems to be going on. Maura West pushed someone over a castle is about all that I got.

So they did what I suspected they were going to do and tied Cody to a legacy character? So is he another Holt and thus a Q, or they went different?

Apparently he was given up and raised by Katherine Bell's maternal family or something.

Soap Twitter is not happy about this, and I don't blame them.

Apparently, people behind the scenes don't seem to realize that just because it worked with Chase/Josh Swickard doesn't mean that it's going to work every time.

Oh brother.  And let me harp once again on the fact that we should have CS playing Serena on this show, which would make this stupid plot a little more tolerable.  Because then at least there would be someone tied to Dominique on contract.

Rather than cast Elizabeth's father, Jeff Webber and give Rebecca Herbst a story solely about her character, GH has cast five characters "of a certain age" since 2017-- all of whom could have easily portrayed the Jeff Webber role-- James DePaiva, Michael E. Knight, Jeff Kober, James Read and Gregory Harrison (not to mention Charles Shaughnessy)-- all in prominent roles at the times. Why won't #firefrank cast actual characters from the show's history instead of characters like David Bensch and Harrison Chase? Both characters have been used to prop characters he created for his friends-- "Kiki" and "Dr. Finn." When is it time to reach back to the characters the viewers want to see? After ABC decides it's time to shelve the show? If Port Charles needs a reporter, bring Lulu out of the coma. Nope we get "Felty and Smoltz".

The writing is on the wall for these shows. Right the ship and try to appeal to the viewers that are left, not to your vanity projects and petty treatment toward the viewers.
