MarDevil 2021 should've been a limited 10 episode run on Peacock in the Beyond Salem series.

Eileen doesn't want to commit to a long-term contract. Which is fine because Kristen should not be on a long-term contract, IMO. She is a character who should come in and do controlled stints. When Kristen is on year-round it looks like what you have now.

Agreed 100%

Rest the bitch for a good year. At least.

Also, the background lighting is really blue.

I swear, Salem is lit by a huge full moon at night. Every night. Even indoors. It's weird.

The acting from "Carmine" is Wes Ramsey levels of bad. I crack up whenever he's on. I did laugh at his line about not being scared of Ava anymore because all she does is cut up eggplant. Yup. Tamara Braun is looking good though.

Carmine is the lovechild of a Baldwin brother and a Culkin kid.

100% agree with that.

This would have been PERFECT for that platform and better if it has stayed out of the main show.

Yes and they could have had Mike Horton come to help and Celeste.

Zombie Nick’s lines sound like they were written for Leo 😂😂

Mike Manning and Blake Berris are still killing it though. Maybe Corday needs to pull a Frank Valentini for both of them 😂

So far my biggest complaint about Possession 2.0 is that too much is happening off screen. We should’ve seen Zombie Nick break Jake out of prison and bury him, just like we should be seeing Doug locked away in Bayview.

On the Doug front maybe Bill only works every so often. I hope Im as vital as he is at 96

I forgot how much I enjoyed Blake Berris as Nick. I still have fond memories of the young geek getting drunk and then sleeping with Billie lol. Even though the China Lee story was ridiculous it was also fun. I didn’t care for Nick’s darker turn starting with his obsession with Melanie although Berris did a great job overall. Example of losing talent and interesting character all just for shock value.

Why can't they do what they do  with Alison Sweeney. Have her come in once every blue moon for a short time and disappear. I would be fine with that regarding Eileen popping in as Kristin. But can we put a pause on all her other characters. I would like Days to redeem Kristin a little. Like have her be in a accident and her memory is wiped out for a while and then bam.. Evil Kristin is back.

I fully agree with everything you said but in all fairness, if I remember correctly, he was the one who didn't want to stay.
I *still* wouldn't have gone that route, especially on his second run, but it was on him wanting to do indie stuff or whatever.

This soap is a mess right now. This is what happens when you give a two-year renewal with a head writer who doesn't need that kind of freedom to go off-the-rails.

Nick could have been THE character of the decade. There was no one awkward and geeky like him on soaps; it wasn't overdone.  They apparently couldn't handle writing a character that required careful balance, so they made him a psycho creep. The whole thing was off, because it was clearly the pills that made him screwed up, but then they just went "Ehh, oh well, let's go all in."

Once Nick's homophobia was dealt with; Nick/Gabi/WIll/Sonny would have been a fascinating parental unit for little Ari. But the show dashed all that potential, along with a few others, around that time.

IIRC, he pre-dated Spinelli on GH. Hogan Sheffer introduced the comic character of Nick very well, and I was super into him and Chelsea. Then they bungled it very, very quickly by having him sleep with Billie, which could've been recovered from, but then it all fell apart. It was clear someone at the show (probably Corday) disdained the character type on a show largely subsisting on generic stud and heroine archetypes. Later Nick became some sort of psycho which I was not invested in at all, though I know people loved Berris' performance. It was all such a waste.
