They really have him doing scenes like this I did laugh at EJ asking Gwen, "Who the hell are you?" "I'm Gwe-" "I don't care."

This set is ugly as hell.

Lord, this Calista nonsense. I'm already tired of hearing about Buddy Bucks. I did laugh when she wanted Steve to go upstairs with her and he was just like, "...what."

This episode was boring. Watch Beyond Salem instead.

Something tells me that people are going to be confused by that. Judging from the dialogue, I assume that today's main show took place before Beyond Salem began.

While i applaud giving the 96 year old actor a story, it's such a downer of one. Sure, it makes sense with his age. I'm still amazed the actor is still working! But, I'm not looking forward to watching this specific story.

I have always wondered, if I were an aging actor, if I'd prefer working until my last day, at the risk of making my character death sudden and done in a week, or if I would want to work with the show to set up a great storyline for my final exit, giving the time to get closure on storylines and past relationships and enough preparation for a rally spectacular exit and set up great stuff for the aftermath.
I am leaning on the latter tbh but I hear both cases.

I lean the latter too, like Susan Flannery. Because what usually happens is the actor becomes too ill or frail to appear for months and months, if not more, and passes away suddenly. Their character is no longer a factor by that point. I’d prefer to get my flowers while I’m here to enjoy them and get a nice, dramatic planned send-off and retirement party.  I get that for a lot of older actors, it’s about continuing to get benefits, staying active, having a support group, keeping habits built over decades, loving the craft, etc., and you never know when you’re gonna suddenly decline and not be fit to work. Plus it might make the performer aware of their mortality in an uncomfortable way. Up to the individual.

In regards to the Doug story ... I don't know if it's what we thought it would be ...

I do hate that we won't have Hope here for this story. Just like EJ, I think they'll need to recast or come up with a concrete reason as to why she's not there for such stories.

Really got to give a shout-out to Bill Hayes though. I hate to say this, but he’s probably had some of those fears that he would be the position that Doug may be in now. And then to play that out on the show, I think that’s very brave of him.

    • I guess it depends on your device.  I can watch CW shows via their website on my Windows PC.
    • Ooooo A Liam episode? I'll watch it later today. They sure are churning the daily episodes out early.

    • Welcome back, Shawn Douglas! It's been a while. It really is too bad that the writers don't really have an interest in the character because there are still a lot of ways that he can be used effectively on the canvas. He should have been a part of the 60th anniversary celebrations as well. If anything, just to represent Bo and Hope. And I'd much rather see Jada paired with him than possibly with Theo. But I enjoyed him getting caught up with Belle, and comforting her. I'm sure they'll find their way back to each other at some point but I do like them as divorced friends. I just hope we see it play out onscreen. Belle being a dick about Sami again was unnecessary though. And we finally saw Liam again!  I'm curious to see how this storyline is going to play out, and who's going to be weaved into it. He and Abe do work well together too. And we learned that he has a kid. Hopefully, we'll learn more about his character in the future. But I'm not really sure about Johnny and Chanel suddenly having problems with raising Trey. They've wanted a baby for so long, so I don't understand why this is even an issue. They should know by now what it's like to raise a baby. But I did enjoy Johnny's scenes with EJ, and that Johnny still hasn't refused to forgive him. This storyline was/is very clunky, but having the two of them be at odds is the right decision. There's so much story potential that can be drawn from that. As for Chad... there was no time for us to see his reunion with Will, but there's time for us to see him talking BS with Leo? I don't get it. And I don't get all this random dating app stuff either. Leo and Javi were boring af too. If we're forced to endure them, can they at least have some real conflict? The two of them losing the baby was the perfect opportunity for it.

    • I enjoy BF better on Days than on YR.   Chad is greater than Cane, in my opinion.
    • Ick! Seeing MS and BF making out as the characters onscreen was just ewwww.
    • The SON board.
