Thoughts:
Ms Anita looks stunning in her Easter best! I love seeing her up and about, even though I am sure she would prefer to be resting; however, she is the Dupree matriarch and holds that title well.
Nice seeing Bill and Dani be cordial for Easter brunch, much to the displeasure of Hayley.
Kial and Nicole are luminous, but Carlton is not liking what he is seeing. Perhaps he should have kept his mouth shut, and then he would be the one at brunch!
Carlton is afraid of bunnies? Okay, Anya Jenkins realness! That is kind of hilarious.
Jacob is really trying to take charge of this investigation. But I cannot help but feel like he's causing more problems than resolution.
Omg, the Easter bunny going around the country club to the tables has to be one of the most adorable things I have ever seen in a long, long time. This is so sweet.
Anastasia and Katherine would get along with this "not a real Dupree" thing that she is harping on. But Ms Anita is not going to let that kind of language fly, especially on Easter. Step off, Anastasia.
Oop... Anastasia was gagged and her wig was shifted by Anita's firm warming. "You got me?" Oh, that sent chills down my spine.
I know Hayley is fuming, both on the inside and the outside, with every single Dupree wanting to talk to Bill. 🤣
It is nice seeing Andre and Kial connect through their history of traveling for their occupations.
I know she would rather be with Jacob right now, but it is sweet that both Bill and Dani are taking this moment to sit down and speak with Naomi, showing their joint support for their daughter.
Lia is scary as Hell. If I turned around and her cold, steely demeanour were behind me, I would likely soil myself. "Every action is a consequence someone must pay." Whew. That speaks volumes and you know it was a warning.
Miss Jennifer Holliday! The Icon! The Legend! She looks stunning!
Notes:
Love that we are ending the week with a Slater breakdown. A classic soap script day. Yes!
I do not know if it was intentional or not, but that wig on Tamara Tunie (Anita) actually looks like one, which I appreciate. Anything to allow Anita to make herself feel like she is not battling cancer while out in public at the country club.
The fashion in today's episode is bright and light, and everyone looks impeccable. Every single cast member looks great in their outfits, and it definitely gives off Easter Sunday brunch vibes.
Beyond the Gates consistently excels in its portrayal of sex scenes. They are well produced, natural, and very intimate. Amazing.
Out of all of the musical guest stars, Holliday is the best yet. She is a true Icon and seeing her grace my television screen today was such a gift. She took us to CHURCH and I usually do not attend, but today I happily did!
