Loved the Carly/Nina scenes today. Nina hit the nail right on the head when she called everybody out for the way that they enable Carly and each other. And I also like how Carly was written. There was no sugarcoating. She was written true to type.

Looking forward to see what Nina will do next

Because ABC has spent the better part of 20 years making Carly, Jason, and Sonny the central characters of the show and the stories only showcase their points of views and rooting value.

Not to mention these same characters have been “protecting” Michael as a storyline for over 20 years, and Nelle was hurting the precious.

Or maybe no matter how great an actor they have playing Nina, that character does not work, hasn’t worked, and isn’t easy to root for because they are not successful.

And maybe the fans of this show, especially the ones vocal online are pretty much trash.  The only time I have agreed with one of their campaigns was when Genie Francis was let go.

GH Facebook rarely lines up with any of my opinions and I am not really a Carly fan, but Nina is very hard to sympathize with. I really dont care about nelle or nina at all.  The only person I sorta care about in all this is Jax. Not because he has done anything noteworthy in 20 years but because I liked Jax in the 90s.

Agreed.

Tbh, I'm actually a little surprised with how good the writing has been for Carly since this storyline began. I was worried they were going to have her be all depressed and withdrawn or doing stupid things, but she hasn't been. She really does seem better off without him. I wouldn't even mind a Carly/Jax reunion

The irony of GH to me is that it has been written for decades - especially in the Guza Pratt era but we still see the remnants of it to this day - as a man's man show.
With violence glorified and awful "antiheros" being celebrated. Female character playing support to male characters.

When in all reality most if not all the good characters and great performers of the show are the female characters. And most of the great scenes are between the female characters.
Even with awful writing and bad characterization, I'll take Ava, Carly, Alexis, Laura any day over Jason, Sonny, Luke.
Even with the problems there has been with Nina's writing, the interaction between her and Carly today was ten times more interesting and better acted than the endless mumbled fake-macho d***-measuring interactions between Cyrus and Jason/Sonny we have had to endure for months put together.

I could go on with examples but I think the gist of it stands for itself.

    • OH, I AM.   And it looks like it's a pretty good episode so I might watch later on this weekend after work cuz I see a lot of scenes with people I actually like. Very happy to see Rocco/Danny appear to be getting story, too.
    • I do agree that a revival of EON would work, if it doesn't fall into doing all of the typical soap opera tropes... which it became guilty of in the final few years of the show with the over abundance of Raven/Sky at the expense of the actual detectives, police, etc. And I know it was mentioned earlier that Raven had lost any true connections on the show with the death of her on screen mother, and the loss of April/Draper/Deborah.. and I do agree with that. I actually thought the show would have done something with the Shelley character that could have connected her to the Raven character.  There were a few scenes where the two would have scenes and size one another up before they would go their separate ways.. so I assumed perhaps they would have been revealed as half-siblings and/or perhaps cousins.  Alas.. not to be.
    • It definitely flowed beautifully. So much that I was annoyed when Vanessa/Doug because I wanted to get back to the party. I know it was intentional to build up tension and suspense. It worked. lol. I'm glad it was there in hingsight because it gave us that great conversation between Doug and Vanessa. Foreshadowing? And yesss!!! This episode was sooo old school soap giving beat after beat after beat leading up to the unveiling of Eva as Ted's daughter. And we still have plenty of fallout/aftereffects to work through.   Speaking of...Bill, Bill, Bill lol. Good to have confirmation HE was the scary lawyer.   I'm sure I will have a busy Monday, but I can't wait for it. I don't know what I'm looking forward to more. Probably Anita vs Silk Press Sheila tbh. And yes, I feel they will be matching each other 'blow for blow.'
    • And if they go there, it could also be tied to Johnny completely cutting him off, possibly going to work for Titan, etc.
    • @AbcNbc247 maybe it is just that they've gone to that well too often, and I don't like when DAYS goes dark, but I'm OK with EJ abusing drugs, and just skipping the whole sobriety part. Side note: experiencing hallucinations of my son killing me would be enough for me to never want to take a pill again.

    • Part of the reason that Courtney worked at OLTL was because the show had an actual character for her to play.  One that was somewhat different than her character on AW, and after the way she was treated over at AW.. it had to have been nice to be courted onto a new soap that actually valued your contributions.
    • I figured the "long" was already implied
    • You'll be very impressed
