I love Brenda Epperson too and she's my "original" Ashley based on when I started watching, but it just feels wrong to recast when the character isn't in a frontburner storyline and the Emmy winning, original actor is still appearing on the show. I mean, it's not like they'd actually give Ashley a good storyline, because they aren't giving anyone a good storyline... so I'd rather just have Eileen appear once in a while for old time's sake.

Always thought Brenda would be perfect for Kristen on B&B.

I can definitely agree with your point and where you're coming from. EDIT: And while fans do love Brenda as Ashley, I can see how it would look 'wrong' to recast. Even if Eileen doesn't seem to care lol

100% Brenda would be perfect for Kristen! I've always thought that too.

I don’t think it would look wrong, only because Eileen said she wants and expects them to recast. She said she’s absolutely not returning full time ever. The character is still valuable. But I do agree the idea of Brenda as Kristen is good, but they’ll never invest so I’d settle for drive bys from Tracy Melchior. The Forrester daughter who really needs to return is Felicia.

She's stated in the past that she simply doesn't want to work full-time at any show. The long hours plus the long commute equals too much time away from family.

by the way, Lynda Hirsch issued a correction.

"A girl can dream, can't she? I was so thrilled that Eileen Davidson (Ashley) was headed back to "The Young and the Restless." I had her returning for long run. Davidson let me know her stay is for a finite stay. Too bad. The actress and the character always bring a touch of class to the show. For now, we will take what we can get."

    • Leslie having the nerve to show up at the Dupree House was pure insanity. Bill being revealed to be more ruthless than anyone would have thought was a good development. I have to imagine that will change Dani's view of wanting him back. The whole reveal was well done and Trisha Mann-Grant owned those scenes. That was most definitely material for an Emmy submission reel.
    • I agree, all the Guys Tux were nice. I like how they differ from each other and all stylish in a way. Awe, same. Can not believe I actually have enjoying a current daytime soap. Rewatching these episodes over the weekend as a jump back into Ryan's Hope and Santa Barbara. Agreed! Exciting times.

And it was pretty dope we didn't know that tidbit before the reveal.
    • yes I thought of the Renee party... But this is different because I'm talking specifically about the revealer convincing someone else to throw the party.  And the someone else complies, having no idea what the revealer plans. I'm wondering if Michele Val Jean did a first with BTG in 2025. But the BTG thread is already so busy -- that I thought it important to *NOT* clog it up with discussing this, so I brought the question here instead. That way, if other reveals come up in conversation, it's not a problem on this "general retro soap" thread.
    • Well, good that they showed Vanessa though I wish she was there.   Lol. And here comes Naomi. AND an explanation from Jacob.

She is diabolical! Remember in this scene she offered Martin a brownie which seemed so random? In this episode its revealed that when he was a kid, Ted used to bring him to a restaurant where the waitress would give him brownies....that waitress was Leslie. She was playing games and trying to jog his childhood memory
    • Yay!!!!!! And made it ON TIME, TOO!!!   And this is giving DAYS reveals circa late 90s already.
    • Bish what? I was not expecting that, I was for sure expecting him to go after Nicole (He still can). Looks like Leslie put her out! I love these new developments, Eva Dorian Lording her way into Fairmont Crest. My good sis better trap that doctor.
    • It should be in its synopsis on the DVR description of the show.
    • Well, in a way DAYS "Renee Dumonde DiMera Threw a Party & Invited Everyone & Then Told the Whole Town Off" if you see what I mean. She definitely pretended that she was throwing this shindig for a pleasant reason while she KNEW her real intent wasn't pleasant AT ALL. And, everyone in Salem was targeted by her in this way.  I mean it was supposedly a celebration of her engagement. But, that is not what happened! I think it checks off all your boxes. And, before today I would definitely have called it "singular". There was nothing like it. Now, there's something not only similar but possibly .... more far-reaching? I was just struck by a thought. When MVJ was tasked to write a catfight, she wrote the best catfight that has ever existed. I'm not sure but what if she's done it again?!!
