Per Lynda Hirsch in her soap gossip column today, Eileen Davidson is back full time as Ashley. She is supposed to have a big story coming in the future.

This is great news. Eileen is needed on the show. I wonder what’s going on Jess Walton.

So after 12 years of only writing for her sporadically on and off between stints... Griffith gets a full chance with ED...no high expectations from me of course, but just wanted to point that put.

I wonder what hooked ED on, because even just 3 weeks ago she was like im not coming back they will have to do alot to get me back.

Awesome news.  I also noticed in the credits this week, that Christel Khalil(Lily) is listed in the contract players, so that is goodnews too imho.  Now Y&R get Jess Walton(Jill), Tracey E. Bregman(Lauren), Christian LeBlanc(Michael) & Lauralee Bell(Christine) back on contract as well1

100%. Probably more than any other character, ED/Ashley still conveys class - something Y&R was known for - it always had an air of elegance - that's the closest word for it. ATWT/GL were more earthy (in good ways); B&B (trashy), but Y&R just oozed with class and Ashley just seems to be the epitome of that. BE channeled that really well, but there is only one ED.

This! Not to mention since 1982 Ashley has always been the show’s second leading lady behind Nikki of course.
