Perhaps some editing is going on but there's no mistaking that the actors are near each other in these scenes. Hell, Maurice Bernard just touched Lindsay Hartley as they were standing face to face, as did Becky Herbst. And they need to keep Lindsay. She's brought energy to the show that was really lacking.

There are clear examples of forced perspective editing going on in some scenes.  And then there are also clear examples of people right next each other, facing each other, etc not distanced at all, that were not filmed before.  CD’s longer hair, LH as Sam as examples.

I wish someone would just say what they are doing, because it’s clearly less distances than the other shows (although I haven’t seen anyone in bed with a Real Doll yet).

I know. I'm very confused. Are they all quarantining? Like ... that's not editing lol

I too heard some was filmed before but that kinda can't be with Chad's ugly new hair color and style and Lindsay being there.

I know I could search on my own but where do I recognize tempBrook Lynn from? And what a shame Amanda Setton wasn't able to film these scenes of Ned finding out she sold her shares. Should have been a really good scene but it all fell so flat. Not blaming the new actress, the writing and direction on this show just SUCK.

Soaps just lack energy. All of them are lethargic.

And I'm pretty sure I said it for months if not over a year that Sasha or Willow needed to be Lucy's daughter. I've been preaching they needed to use Lucy more ... imagine Willow being Chrissy and Harmony being Julie Devlin? It would have given Lucy and Kevin instant story. Wouldn't want that ...

Nelle being Nina's daughter is one of the worst kept secrets and I don't even feel like using a spoiler tag for it. It's blatantly obvious. Supposedly Willow and Nelle are twins. LMAO. I can't with this show. I'm so tired of forcing connections and "Nina's legacy". I love you Watros but Nina is useless, still.

There is no way "editing" can explain a lot of the closeness on GH. I've edited and I promise you, we don't do that. Nor is ABC rolling out money to allow GH to CGI people, lol. They would never give that money to these shows now. These people are in the same close space and IMO it is not safe. Yes, the show looks less embarrassing than B&B. But I think they're taking way too many risks and it's going to go bad. And for what - a rushed return for a show that needs a huge creative reset.

I wouldn't trust constant testing in this environment and with things in this city (LA) being as they are. There's too many variables. And given the allegations re: why Monaco is out (allegedly, not being willing to properly follow safety protocols on or off-show) I wouldn't be near her either.

Lucy mentioned something about raising money for the Nurse's Ball the other day. Surely they're not going to try a big ensemble episode?

Googling around I found these protocols: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6941686-HOO-Appendix-J-Reopening-Protocol-for-Music.html

There's a lot of weasel words in here.  Any contact closer than six feet must be "as brief as possible." Scenes with direct prolonged physical contact (love scenes) are "discouraged."  Crowd scenes "should" be avoided.  There's lots of leeway there and apparently GH/ABC are taking more risks than CBS on things that aren't outright banned.

Melissa Claire Egan said in this interview that they actually have a 6 foot long rope that they have to hold to make sure they're far enough apart: https://www.soapsindepth.com/posts/the-young-the-restless/melissa-claire-egan-returning-to-work-whats-next-for-chelsea-adam

I don't like GH taking those risks but I also don't think soaps can really be filmed the way Y&R and B&B are doing it, nor do I expect primetime shows to come back with zero physical contact between the actors.  My vote is for safety and not filming at all.

    • Irna wanted to use cities around Chicago to represent the cities around Cincinnati, where P&G's international Headquarters are, so it was by intent.  Here's the YT

    • Hump Day Thoughts Let me start with the snark: I can accept that John's memorial will be held at the pub—but I do not believe that a man who spent years thinking he was a priest (and fought the devil twice) wouldn’t have wanted a church funeral. It’s not the choice of venue that bothers me—it’s the casual, throwaway dialogue that pulls me out of the moment. That said, I was genuinely riveted by the scenes of everyone catching Bo up on what he’s missed. His sense of shock and grief felt earned. Imagine waking up to find that so many people you loved had died—and that you’d caused so much pain to your wife and son. That brief moment of overwhelm was beautifully played. (Of course, IRL, someone would’ve eventually told him: “Honestly, Bo, you were lucky to sleep through the Ron C. years.”

) Also, kudos to Hope for maintaining Bo’s beard, haircuts, and dye jobs all these years. I actually found it realistic. Many families of coma patients do keep up with grooming, partly as a way to pass time at the bedside. And let’s be honest: in real life, a lot of bearded men wake up clean-shaven because the machines require it… or because their wives secretly hated the beard all along. Props to Brandon Beemer today for stepping up and showing more emotional range than his usual “intensity mode.” It added depth, and it was needed. As for the chatter about the gay quad. I’ve read the comments, and I get the appeal, but I’ve never been a Paul fan. The guy’s just a drip. Not for me.
    • Honestly Mona shouldn’t even matter. Shanice freaking talked to Leslie. But no one seems to think to show her the footage or picture of Leslie? It’s such a stupid glaring hole.
    • Delusional Dani would view it as hope... but realistically, it's being cordial and adult...  something they both need to do.  Especially if Naomi and Chelsea ever decide to have children... it would be nice to have them being mature around one another and their kids and grandkids.   Kat needs to simmer down and let the police do their job.  I can excuse the coat and trying it on because she didn't know that it was previously Silk Press Sheila's... but the way she was with Mona when Mona was asked to ID the person in the video was Kat 'leading the witness on'. Even Mona said that she was now more then determined to see if Leslie/Dana was on the camera.   So a defense attorney could paint Mona as an unreliable witness.
    • Even though I can firm a map of Michigan (that included Bay City) was used on the show, I still never heard Michigan referred to in any of the dialogue -- ever.  So the map doesn't really make it canon, in my opinion.  That map was probably supplied by the prop-guy, and he might not have even told TPTB that he was going to use an identifiable state map.  On the other hand, there were hints that it was in Michigan, with references to cold winters, etc.  And on Somerset, a nearby city was Lansing.  But I don't recall Lansing ever being mentioned on AW, but perhaps it was.   I do wish TPTB would have made AW's canonical location in Michigan.  First, because many fans already believed it was in Michigan, and because eventually putting all the remaining P&G soap opera cities in Illinois was silly and pointless.  Variety is the spice of live, my dears.
    • Yea, that's been nice to watch this week.

date: Wednesday, June 4 | Sara A. Bible, Danielle Paige | Phideaux Xavier Anita is definitely lost in space. The space of her own mind and history. Oh, hello, miss eye-sex at the bar of Uptown! I see you eye-sexing Ms Chelsea! We love to see it. Shanice stopped Dana dead in her tracks. Good on her. It comes out: Barbara was the fourth Articulette, started the group, came up with the name, etc. Dante Greene is about to become the most hated man to exist in this universe, and that's a high-level position that many covet. I appreciate seeing Anita own up to her wrongdoings and that Vernon is still by her side. So, Sharon wants to use Anita for her own benefit, and that does surprise me. That ugliness is right there. At least Tracy, outwardly, seems more open to forgiving Anita and reuniting for the one-off concert. I had a feeling it might've been a stroke (or mini-stroke) but did not want to admit it. It hits close to home for me. Very close. Oh, that glimmer and gleam in Bill's eye and that ever-so-slight smirk on his face of Dani checking on him at the hospital. Yeah. He's still got it for her. Vernon continues to be a wise man with some wisdom unlike any other, and I love that he's getting through to Anita. Ugh. Sharon, you're ugly, ugly, ugly. You will reap what you sow. That's right, child bride, watch the woman that knows your husband better than you ever could. Katherine, mama, sit down and be careful. Now this is in the firm hands of Jacob and the police department. Dana, barking up Andre's tree. She works fast. Like a bitch in heat, fast. The one thing Tracy has with Anita that unites them is their love for Barbara and acknowledging her as part of the Articulette's history. Andre, you big dumb dumb. You never saw the suspect the footage before the police can. Ugh. Notes: For the first time in a while, we see Tide and get a commercial right after.
