Now that CBS is going to air actual classic episodes it's time for a thread.

I guess May 4 is not a Stephanie Forrester week, but a best weddings week:

https://www.viacomcbspressexpress.com/cbs-entertainment/releases/view?id=55077

Then, as THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL comes down the aisle, storylines will include:

On Monday, May 4, Taylor Hayes (Hunter Tylo) desperately attempts to escape from Prince Omar (Kabir Bedi) to let Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) know that she’s alive, while Ridge and Brooke (Lang) have their epic first wedding in front of friends… and foes on the beautiful beach in Point Dume, Calif. The episode originally aired Sept. 30, 1994.

On Tuesday, May 5, Steffy (Wood) and Liam (Clifton) are wed in front of the iconic Opera House on the glorious Sydney, Australia harbor. While the ceremony progresses in front of family and friends, Wyatt (Darin Brooks) eases his sorrows over his brother’s marriage to his ex-wife with several drinks. The episode originally aired March 22, 2017.

On Wednesday, May 6, Katie (Tom), the only woman to have ever stolen Dollar Bill's (Diamont) heart, walks down the aisle to become Mrs. William Spencer, Jr., with her sisters at her side, at the San Fernando Valley home where she was raised. Legendary CBS star Patrick Duffy (“Dallas”) guest stars as Katie’s father, Stephen Logan. The episode originally aired Nov. 13, 2009.

On Thursday, May 7, Eric Forrester (McCook) and Brooke Logan (Lang) say “I Do” as Eric’s ex-wife, Stephanie (Susan Flannery), and Brooke’s true love, Ridge (Kaye), watch without objection. Eric then takes Brooke on a romantic and surprise honeymoon in a magnificent hot-air balloon in Palm Springs, Calif. The episode originally aired Jan. 8, 1991.

Wrapping up on Friday, May 8: Having overcome astounding obstacles, Hope (Kim Matula, in a role currently played by Annika Noelle) and Liam (Scott Clifton) joyously say “I Do” in front of family, friends, and the many residents of the beautiful city of Puglia, Italy. Frustrated and brokenhearted, Steffy (Wood) updates Eric (McCook) and Stephanie (Flannery) on the dramatic events transpiring in Puglia. The episode originally aired June 26, 2012.

I liked her a lot too, but there was something that rang false to me, even as she summoned real tears and modulated well from anger to disgust to resignation. Maybe it was just even her voice that bugged me. I remember loving those scenes when they aired and feeling quite underwhelmed now. The bug-eyed, doubled-over reaction to hearing Deacon declare his love to Brooke over the baby monitor felt... strained.

In the confrontation scenes it sounds like she has a cold or something. It's very nasally. Great acting of course.

Just like when Rome Flynn left the show and Nicole had to disappear with Zende... At least they didn't get divorced.

So, they decided to recast Zende after all..

I never understood why some are so eager to recast roles which have played by 1 actor for 20 or 30 years. It's not like HT is unavailable.

If they are able to get some popular actors on board - they'll do that. That's what happened to Thorne. Winsor would have played perfectly the storyline with Katie (especially that the two of them shared some scenes in 2007) and he was always ready to come back full time again, but Ingo was much more popular, so they recast Thorne. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to have Winsor again the next time Thorne will appear.

Any update on next week's classics?

Monday July 13,

On a belated honeymoon with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Liam (Scott Clifton) is stunned to learn that Hope (then played by Kim Matula) and Thomas (then played by Adam Gregory) are staying at the same resort and that Steffy knew about it. When Thomas spies Liam, he quickly grabs Hope, hops on an ATV, and rides through the beautiful ocean/mountain terrain of the region. Hot on their heels is Liam, who has also jumped on an ATV, and Steffy, who is riding on her own close behind. Meanwhile, Amber (Adrienne Frantz) interrupts a cozy moment between Marcus (Texas Battle) and Dayzee (Kristolyn Lloyd) and assures them that Hope would never make a play for Liam, who is a married man. Brooke (original cast member Katherine Kelly Lang) is happy to learn from Ridge (then played by Ronn Moss) that Hope turned down Thomas’ marriage proposal. Katie (Heather Tom) angrily demands that Bill (Don Diamont) tell her the truth when she realizes that he’s been running interference and manipulating Liam, Steffy, Hope, and Thomas from afar. Originally aired on January 3, 2012.

Tuesday - July 13

The day before Liam (Clifton) and Hope’s (Matula) wedding day, Hope, Brooke (Lang), Pam (Alley Mills), and Stephanie (Susan Flannery) plan the ceremony and luncheon. Meanwhile, believing he is in desperate need of a break, Steffy (MacInnes Wood) “kidnaps” Liam and the two spend a fun in the sun day on Venice Beach dancing and playing volleyball. Later she professes her love to him and questions why he is marrying Hope when all she has done is disappoint him. Liam lets Steffy down easy, telling her he will always love her. Before leaving Forrester Mansion for her romantic pre-wedding dinner with Liam, Hope stops to thanks Stephanie one more time. She becomes concerned when Stephanie, who has had lung cancer, begins to cough and can’t catch her breath. She cancels on Liam without telling him why making Liam feel that perhaps Steffy is right. Steffy, out at a local nightclub with friends, is surprised when Liam shows up and tells her that Hope stood him up. The two proceed to dance the night away. Originally aired on August 12, 2012.

She plots with her friend Rafael (Andy Zuno) to ensure that Rick sees the sexy scene that Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Maya taped for their new show “Room 8”. When Oliver (Zack Conroy), Marcus (Battle), and Dayzee (Lloyd) tell Rafael they want a sneak peek at the series, Rafael plays the sensuous clip while Rick squirms. Caroline happily watches as Rick takes Maya aside, unhappy with what he’s just seen. Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and Hope (Matula)watch the fireworks together, when Liam (Clifton), rushes in and demands to know who Wyatt is. Things become awkward as Wyatt steps aside but can still hear Hope and Liam argue about how Liam still puts Steffy first, even though she left him to live in Paris. After Liam leaves, Wyatt tells Hope that he finds her intriguing before leaning in for a kiss. When the kiss breaks, Hope is stunned to see the Spencer sword around Wyatt’s neck. In a quest to get Pam (Mills) on her good side, Quinn (Rena Sofer) takes her new “BFF” on a “girl’s day” out in Beverly Hills where they lunch, get mani-pedis and go shopping. Frustrated that Ridge (Kaye) wants more time apart to become clear about their relationship, Brooke (Lang) tells an apprehensive Rick (Jacob Young) that she is going to make the decision for him by presenting him with her previous engagement ring. That's a no for me. It was enough that they replaced a 20+ year character/actor Ridge with a new actor that didn't quite fit IMO and should have just written off...and it's not a stretch for people to have new faces nowadays...it's LA afterall (and Hunter Tylo hasn't shied away from a little nip tuck herself either) but if Kristian were to come on to BB, I'd rather she play someone new. I'm not a fan of vets getting replaced espeically long running ones that have been on since the beginning or very early on.

Totally agree about HT. She's Taylor. It is pointless to recast that part when HT is available and does her job well in what has become a thankless part.

If B&B wanted to bring Kristian Alfonso on the role she would excel in is something like the recurring character she played on Melrose Place: an LA madame who was an absolute bitch. That was Alfonso's best acting/role.

What happened to Thomas after the wedding?  Did the actor take some time off to do a side project?  Was Thomas written off the show?  It's just so weird to have the show centered around one character for a year or so and then he just disappears with hardly any mention of him.

I agree. One of the limitations of this format is that viewers lack the context and the build-up that can often give emotional scenes like that their power. Still, I’m just reminded of the scene shared here from ages ago when Stephanie learned Brooke was pregnant with Eric’s child, which I saw out of context having not been a B&B viewer at the time, yet SF’s very similar, hyperventilating, eye-bulging reaction hit me right in the gut. Felt much more natural to me.

The Bridget/Deacon episodes were a huge example of why the format should have been singular focus on one story line for a week or two, rather than disjointed episodes. I loved the moment she doubled over in that scene.

I've been not reading the weekly descriptions to be surprised by which episodes air each day, but seeing the "spoilers" help me to not waste DVR space, especially given next week😷.

If I remember correctly, the show shifted to Flo/Wyatt/Sally for its final 3 weeks pre-Corona. Liam/Hope/Thomas were hardly if all on... I assume that all would have returned within another weekly set of episodes

Yep! None of the three actors even appeared in April at all before the show’s final ep.
