Based on past cast promos, I'm under the assumption they think it's a good show because it's still the number one soap. I'm sure they probably figure things changed after Bill Bell died, but I'm not sure if they're aware of many longtime fans cite 2005 to be the last time the show was good. Y&R is my favorite soap, but it's currently the least creative product on the air. I question if they know it's that bad.

Not sure if this was posted already but new classic episodes and scenes dropped. Jack & Jill's first affair. Not sure if the clip is misdated as google says Jerry Douglas debut in 1982 but he's in a clip dated 1981. Perhaps Y&R re-shot scenes and played them as flashbacks to account for the casting change? John was a fool taking Jill back twice. Around Jerry Douglass' first episode as John.

Yes!!! all roads leading back to Sidwell behind every nefarious action in town is repetitive and unexciting. GH did this with Heather and Cyrus as well. Why does GH continuously spawn new children for these characters. I would almost have accepted this more if they said Peter August was alive and underwent facial reconstruction surgery to reingrain himself in Maxi's life.

WHOAH That just occurred to me, literally where is Sonny in all of this??? I'm just glad they didn't write Jason as presumed dead again, or put him in GH's umpteenth coma plot. This is what they should have done the last time Steve left! Writing that he was either in prison or missing would have been better than presumed dead x2.

It was powerful and effective the first time when Victor smashed the picture frame. It got a little corny when he snapped the pencil and repeated it😂.

A nostalgia line in today's episode. My boy Victor's still threatening to crush people 27 whole yeas later. Billy calling Nick a "one legged dog" today lol. Nick's pills look like smarties.

Love Sheia, but she quickly became a cartoon after 1998. Her 2002 story was OK, so was her 2005 run on Y&R. Everything after that has been pretty stupid/meh. Again, I think Sheila's best plots were on Y&R(minus Phyliss look alike) but she had character development on B&B. It would be nice if they could send Sheila over to Y&R for a few months to mix things up, but I doubt the writing team is capable of making that interesting. Who knows, the Cameron Kirsten return was lightly riveting, so they might do Sheila some justice.

Jason and Britt stalls again. GH has a habit of slow burning relationships until one of the actors has to leave the show either temporarily or a long-term. Similar thing happened with Spencer and Trina.

To me 1989-2001 was solid. Really loved 1989-1993 and 1998-2001 especially. 94-97 was not as great but there were some bright spots like Matt Clark, early Phyliss, Victor's shooting, and the Nathan/Keesha affair.

I don't know exactly when the friendzoning happened. I think Jason catching Carly in bed with Sonny in 1999 solidified Jason's resistance to dating Carly. If I recall correctly, Carly was always upfront with Jason that AJ was Michael's dad. She sought Jason's help to claim he was the father to keep AJ, and the previous suspected baby daddy Tony Jones, from getting custody of Michael.

Jason: "why is it so hard for you to believe that I could love you and have room for somebody else". That was a telling statement in their relationship. As bad as the writing for Britt has been, she was correct in that Jason and Carly have an unhealthy codependent relationship. It would be one thing if Carly just kept Jason as a best friend, but she actively disrespects all of the women he is with (Sam, Britt, Elizabeth, Robin, not sure about Courtney). She didn't like his friend Brenda either. Jason needs to be better at setting boundaries with Carly. As for why they aren't together I suspect the character of Jason sees Carly as too much drama to date but enough to handle as a friend (despite the confusion of their recent marriage).

Agreed. Victor should be alone or be with Ashley or something. 90s Jack treated Nikki really good, too bad she just couldn't get it together with the addiction and pinning after Victor. "The mustache" helped ruin her relationship with Jack, Brad, and Joshua, then later Paul in 2009. Loved the flashback to 1995.

Im not talking about Britt being unbearable now. I'm saying that Carly was an obstacle to their relationship prior to both actors leaving, accordingly, the fizzling out of Jason and Britt can't solely be blamed on actor departures.

But having Jason marry Carly to have a supposedly strong mob image after Sonny "died" derailed Jason/Britt until both actors left/got fired. Just like Spencer and Trina, GH delayed the relationship too long until one of the actors had to leave.

I actually don't mind that GH isn't saturated with corny love scenes. I know this is a soap so they need the show's designated cops investigate everything. But in what world would a detective be tasked with investigating his own brother? Dante and especially Chase should have been recused from all of this a long time ago. How can Diane defend michael when she works at the same firm as Alexis? Chase is SIMPing hard over Willow.

I don't understand fan backlash against Drew, Willow and Michael. As I've said before, what else is the show really have going for it in their absence? This is what characters are supposed to do, drive conflict. Furthermore, characters who have done far or worse such as Sonny Carly and Jason were allowed to free room this year for decades so this is mild in comparison. But the show does need to invest in making other strong plots before their lead story becomes played out.

In response to everything written so far... will Vanessa ever return as Brenda? Is Jen still available to step in for Maxie like Theresa from Passions was doing for Sam? It's amazing to see Sonny, Jason or Carly not at the center of the show. For the moment Willow, Drew and Michael are the primary drivers. There was a time a few years ago when Sonny & them's show eating grip slipped, until Steve/Jason returned.

10 years is crazy! Billy needs a recast ASAP.
