IMDB description

Judge Brainard calls Cassie up to the bench. Cassie explains that if she has to go to Madison to live with Alice, she will do so and she will try real hard to be happy. But if she has any choice at all, she wants the judge to let her live with her mommy, Nick and Noah. The battle is finally over: Custody for Cassie is awarded to Nick and Sharon.

Victor tells Neil his suspicion that Jack must have something up his sleeve. After a late breakfast in bed with Cole, Ashley reads the minutes of the last Newman Enterprises board meeting and realizes what Jack and Brad have done.

Victor tries to make up with Diane.

Jill continues to wallow in her self-pity and continues to drink.

That makes more sense.

But then .... what about this....

Transcript for
Mon Oct 16, 2006 US, or Friday Oct 13, 2006 Canadian.

Devon to Carmen Mesta:
This is about Drucilla. I'm sure you know that. Am I-- I'm sorry. I, uh, I talk too loud sometimes. I'm still getting used to this. All right, um... Carmen, the thing is... Drucilla can be pretty intense. And sometimes it's a good thing, sometimes it's not so good. Um, she just feels really strongly about certain things. And that's part of what makes her such a great parent. Now I don't know if you knew this about me, but a few years back I was in a group home, all right? I had no one. And at that time, I was, you know, mad at the world and everybody in it. But when Mr. and Mrs. Winters took me in as their foster son, they saved me. They gave me a future. And for the first time in my entire life, I knew what it meant to be a part of a real family. Now... bottom line? I don't wanna see Dru lose all the things that she's worked so hard to give me. And if she loses her job, you know, goes to jail, loses her freedom and gets ripped away from her family--

-- if this is the right episode, then maybe the week's theme is about parents and children, who have had a difficult time?

Theory #75845623 about the weekly theme....
(I really don't know, I just keep guessing!)

Monday
Victor was left in an orphanage, now reconciles with his birth mother.

Tuesday
Grace and Tony see Cassie walking into Millie's.

(Cassie was adopted by Alice who abandoned her  -- and Millie tried to care for her.)

Wednesday

Devon talks about how there was nobody to care for him, and he was in a group home, and had nobody until Dru and Neil took him in.

Thursday

Jill wants to find out if Dina was really sick for two years in a sanitarium, or if Dina is lying and had simply ignored the family for two years.

[But this doesn't really fit, because Jack, Ashley, and Traci were already adults the last time Dina disappeared. I don't know]

Friday
The judge rules Nick and Sharon have custody of Cassie.

Cassie only appears briefly at the end of one of the episodes. I bet when the press release comes out they're going to say they picked it because of Adam and Victor (boxing glove scene). They play that scene a lot (even used it in one of the "previously on" last year) and they seem to be showing a lot of episodes that they have used clips from before.

Regarding Olivia & Malcolm's wedding, I noticed that my TV guide onscreen description said "Victoria causes trouble for Ryan and Nina" so either they cut a Victoria scene, or they meant to say Tricia. I'm sure Sarah Aldrich had more to do than just sit in the back of the church.

@janea4old I think that couple in the church were just extras.

It was funny seeing the wedding considering how bitchy Olivia has been to Malcolm in all of the recent broadcasts.

Loving that some of the classics on CBS All Access include the old school bumpers with the actor stills and old closing credits with the actor shots on the right hand side. The last update from September 1999 (and that lasted through December 24, 1999 when the red satin porn opener debuted) included Eileen Davidson, David Tom, and Ashley Bashioum. Eileen was in one if the bumpers last week or the week before, I want to see their closing credit shots. This was also when CBS switched over to the network closing credits. I hope we get to aee another epi from the late 1999 period

    • I do think there's room for optimism, especially with Amazon making enough new episodes to last until December. There's still time for the various players to get their ducks in a row. Guess we'll know soon enough!
    • I do agree it's better to just have people pop back into town. I never understood why Roger needed a mask on an island, when neither Fletcher or Alex would've known who he was. And the vine...sigh. Couldn't he have just been sent crashing through a window or something?
    • When the announcement was first made, I did wonder if other plans were in the works. I guess we can always keep hoping, especially as the show has a small core cast.
    • @chrismlAbout Lisa, agree to disagree. Actually at the time she was the only thing my partner & I disagreed about. Naturally she was Team Vicky while I was steadfast as Team Lisa.  About John & twin paternity, I think that like the 3 pillows was a transitory idea someone had that no one else agreed with. More of the attempt to accommodate Philece. About MJ, co-sign, 100% agree, if there were more degrees I would claim them. About Wally & Felicia, always a fan. Mitch? Eh, take or leave. Although I do agree that WGE is a really striking man. Who have I left out? I don't know so that's all I got.

    • Dallas peaked early, IMO. Maybe not a fair statement as I’m still making my way through the first half of its run, but I think it’s hard to argue to point that S3 into S4 was its high point. Back to Knots. Wrapping up “And Never Brought to Mind.” Greg’s introduction kinda took me by surprise. I low-key dreaded his arrival bc I know he very quickly gets to the center of the show, but even though they wasted no time connecting him with Mac, Abby, Gary, and Karen, it still feels like a gradual intro. The juxtaposition of the ending of the Chip story with the heating up Abby’s plotting is quite symbolic of the changes the show was going through. I absolutely cannot imagine Kenny and Ginger having any part in any of this. Yall, the Gary/Val piano theme that they pull out from time to time is my FAVORITE. I find myself humming it constantly.
    • Bloodshed is inevitable now. It’s another reason I’m glad Black people aren’t getting involved in these protests. As awful as this is, I keep reminding myself that 54 percent of Latino men voted for Trump. These people were put in harm’s way by members of their own communities and sometimes even members of their own families. Too many people decided to touch the stove.
    • Maybe I'm still in denial, but nothing about Neighbours' ongoing social media output gives the vibe of a show that's ending. In today's 'Roundup' video, Alan Fletcher referenced that production finishes in five weeks, but in all the show's posts the cast are as jovial and lighthearted as ever. Remarkably so for people who are about to lose their jobs.    Perhaps they're just putting a brave face on things, and I know they approached the previous axing with a positive attitude. Maybe putting an upbeat face on things is a collective way of showing potential backers that there's still life in the show? Or is it possible that they already know the show has been saved, and we'll get an announcement next month when filming wraps and the show 'rests'?   Does any of that make sense?!
    • A very good week for male eye candy on GH. New Michael is beautiful, Curtis's arms looked great in that polo shirt, Cody looks even more handsome with his new haircut AND we got Marco in swim shorts rocking his lovely bod and chest fur.

    • Yeah when Jamey Giddens did breakdowns for DAYS, he would sometimes state in tweets that specific things were his idea that he had pitched to Ron.
