Well another cousin of mine got covid. The good thing is that her only symptoms were no taste of smell. My folks got vaccinated so I'm thrilled about that.

My condolences.

Good for your folks.

I just got my first dose of the vaccine this afternoon. My arm is a little sore at the point of injection, but other than that I feel OK!!

@Soapsuds, all love and prayers to you and your family. I hope you all get through this all right. 🙏

Speaking of vaccines, on Tuesday I actually became part of the Phase 3 trials here in the UK for the Janssen vaccine. Officially I don’t know whether I received the vaccine or a placebo, but judging from the way my body reacted within 24 hours of the jab, I suspect I got the real deal. The whole study is meant to last up to 2 years and 3 months.

A Canadian study has evaluated the use of the anti-inflammatory drug colchicine, commonly used to treat gout and the results are quite promising in regard to colchicine's ability to prevent the most serious symptoms of Covid-19. Best of all, colchicine is a generic, old, well studied, commonly prescribed, and inexpensive drug:
